  1. Yes all you need is the Router and as long as you currently connect your Cable Modem to your PC via an Ethernet cable you can just plug it into the router. Aido, Have you tried the SNR hacks for the netgear ? I upped mine to 10dB and its been rock solid ever since
  2. I've had nothing but trouble from parcel farce in the past, bet they want to stick on a handling charge too!
  3. That router should do you well but to make the most of it you'll also need a wireless card in your PC as the built in ones (if it has them) usually dont support 108 mbps. Ive used lots of netgear stuff in the past and had good results, also used a netgear router with NTL cable with no downtime at all. much more reliable than ADSL.
  4. always had luck with the humane type of traps, after trying all sorts of things on usual spring traps, resorted to a humane one and caught 2 in 2 days, you can always shoot them with an air gun if you want them dead. doesnt help with your dead one, but maybe usefull for future pests, and chocolate worked the best for me.
  5. You also with UK Online? mines working but the best I can get is around 16 meg :( but thats due to the fact that im about 2.3km away from the exchange but finding things to download at full speed is even harder my newsgroups seem to top out at 10 megs !!! who you with for news Aido? Im with Newshosting
  6. repeated tuesday 7pm bbc2 for those that missed it
  7. Top Gear on bbc2 tonight TV Guide says its a new series? not sure so check to find out :D
  8. the problem with freeview is that is has to have a good strong signal, reflections from buildings and ghosts are a thing of the past with digital but if the signal isnt strong enough then you wont get anything, with analog you'll get something even if its poor. most freeview boxes come with a built in strength meter so you can set it up and angle the ariel to get the best signal, just check all the channels as one can be great and the others not at all.
  9. yes it will be fine Zee you can either buy a USB wireless or a PCI Wireless card to go inside the PC if its too far away for a cable. you may need to setup the router for the first time by plugging in a cable to it as sometimes the wireless isnt setup out of the box but thats only a 1 time issue then they can all run from wireless no problem
  10. Sorry Guys im not on NTL but my friend is and he said he just went to NTL's home page and signed in and it asked him if he wanted to upgrade. As Colin said it may not be open to everyone at the moment, it is in Leeds. give NTHELL a ring and ask them when?
  11. Zee you want a simple dsl wireless router make sure its DSL and NOT ADSL as you cannot make use of the adsl modem and you'll be having to use the NLT modem this also makes it a bit cheaper too when I was on NTL i used a Netgear one like this http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/in...oduct_uid=48546 I would connect the Dell PC direct to the router using a cable and buy a wireless card for the laptop without wireless built in the others are just fine to connect to it
  12. They should leave the "wrapping" on to give you something nice to open at Xmas :)
  13. Well if any of you are using Ukonline as your ISP, Today they rolled out their ADSL2 22meg service, I was paying £29.99 for the 8 meg service and now I've upgraded to the 22 meg ADSL 2 service for free and it still costs £29.99 per month, bit of a bargain. The only downside is that ADSL 2 requires a new modem/router and you have to buy the one they are providing at £80, but its a decent one Netgear 834GT so all is not lost. Also if your with NTL Cable they have just launched their 10 meg service today so if your a 3 meg user now you can upgrade for free to 10 meg. Anyone had any experience with ADSL2? I get my full 8 megs worth now and Im assuming I should be good for at least 16 megs from the ADSL2 service as im not that far from the exchange. (if usual adsl rules apply to distance) >???? :D :D :D :D
  14. I think you'll be fine when you get down to half a tank fill it up again I had a friend who used to put some petrol in his 306 each time he filled up with diesel to give it some extra kick

  17. colour temp is not the same as bulb temp. so you should be ok, the HID lights are lower wattage than halogen bulbs so produce less heat but as you know the light from the 12000k kit will be less than your standard halogen bulbs
  18. Lost Rhapsody Sung by Weird Al Yankovic this is very funny if your a fan of the hit tv show LOST
