  1. same here, got them the next day after ordering online, think it just must be an error somewhere, hope you get them soon.
  2. usually you are supposed to connect red to red and then connect the black to any unpainted part of the cars chasis.
  3. As nice as the sony ones are, I would opt for an ipod, mainly because of the horrible software sony forces you to use and the sheer amount of addons and gizmos you can get for ipods.
  4. Now that looks interesting :) will it work with the older CD based nav? and what kind of price??
  5. Sometimes the Garages unplug the lights, so they can leave the boot open etc without draining the battery. maybe thats what they had done?
  6. what is it you want from NTL, 2 lines? why? a wired router will give you exactly the same but without costing you for 2 lines. if you really must have 2 lines then NTL offer a games console account which is the same as having 2 lines you get 2 seperate ip numbers to use on a pc and an xbox but the xbox could be another pc.
  7. just buy a router and put a cable to every room you want a net connection, or you can buy a pair of plug in net boxes, basically it looks like a 3 pin mains plug and it transmits the internet signal to any other power socket in the house you just plug in another 3 pin mains plug type thing and plug in your ethernet cable into it and into whatever you want internet on. but a wireless router is the best option.
  8. bit confusing there, but the DAV system doesnt output sound to the TV only via the speakers afaik, do you have any settings on the TV to control the outputs for sound on the back? usually its screen linked so whatever is on tv be it normal TV or via the AV channel it gets routed via the rca's on the back. on my TV I actually have to turn off the internal speakers to get the RCA's on the back to function :( if the dav has enough inputs you can use a set of rca cables for each source. problem with connecting the DVD to the TV via RCA leads is your not getting the best possible picture on your TV. having just checked my TV theres an option for the scart sound output, i can set it from TV to any of the outer sources, Im asuming your getting the sound from a scart socket on the back of the TV and not a seperate set of RCA jacks on the back of the TV? if its via the scart then there should be an option to select what comes out of the scart, at least this is usually the case on Sony TV's
  9. very easy as long as you have the right stuff, also make sure to buy some copper grease and some new clips for the calipers just incase. before you start
  10. I dont think they do, at least, I never noticed it on mine, they may squeel tho
  11. Neither the IS or GS that ive owned needed a code for the radio, not sure about he LS's tho, have you checked the fuse's? perhaps the radio is getting the ignition power but not the fixed 12v power? could be something simple like that.
  12. sometimes, just looking at a fuse is not enough to see if its broken or not, you could take a known working fuse, from the working headlight and pop it in the non working fuse holder, but a multimeter would really be the best option for testing fuses and the voltage.
  13. Or you could have a go at fitting it yourself using this Here Guide I prefer the high level spoilers, not keen on the lip ones myself
  14. What a great find :) Quite fancy some of those headlight spacers for my car
  15. Im using AVG at the moment had enough of Norton being so demanding on my system resources
  16. I thought it was a load of pap m8 loved lock stock and snatch he should devorce madge then he might get back into making good movies again!!!
  17. hmm you should have taken a photo of your blended finger for us to see we seem to like carnage on this forum lol could have been turned into one of those priceless adverts then! hope its ok tho :)
  18. When its all up and running you'll forget all about this Tony :) and when it comes to customer service, NTL are are quite good, try out bulldog or UKonline then you'll know how good NTL really is, some people have been on hold for over 6 hours trying to get thru to UKonline :(
  19. Well Tony it sounds as if your Modem is working and the problem is with your PC if your not sure what an Ethernet connection looks like, check on the back of your NTL modem, it may have a sticker over it. loosk like a big phone socket, see if you have one of them on the back of your PC to match and then plug in the cable with the clear plugs at each end. if you dont have that type of socket on the back of your PC then you'll need a card as Keith suggests. The USB will work, but its not the best option, do you have other USB devices that work ok? just to eliminate the idea of your USB sockets not working on your PC?
  20. So on your cable modem, with it only plugged into the power and the thick wire that NTL installed you should have "power" "sync" and "ready" lights lit up and solid if your connecting it to your PC using the USB cable, make sure to install the CD before plugging the modem into your PC if any of the lights are flashing on the modem with no other wires plugged into it then the modem is goosed. if the modem is all lit up as it should im sure we can get you up and running between us :)
  21. I found the hack un the UKONLINE section in the forums on this site www.adslguide.org.uk only works on the GT modem tho.
  22. you'll be able to find it on some bit torrent sites or using newsgroups but news groups are usually not free
  23. Easy one this, hoping your TV has 2 or 3 scarts Connect cable box into vcr using scart using the vcr output on cablebox connect vcr to scart 2 on TV connect DVD to scart 1 as this is usually the one to offer RGB. if you have a 3rd scart on your TV take another scart from the cable box's TV output and connect to TV now you can record Cable, but if you only have 2 scarts on your TV then you will either need to have the VCR turned on, or use the TV/VCR button to pass thru the cables picture to the TV when the VCR is turned off. if your TV has audio outputs then connect these to the sony DAV's input then whatever your watching on TV will come out of the AMP if you dont have these then you can buy a box that will plug into scart 2 and give you some audio outputs can also take the sound from the VCR if it has them.
