  1. It's very difficult to install the factory navigation as it involves changing the wiring loom - just get the motorised housing and put an aftermarket screen/satnav in it, that gives you more options anyway :)
  2. For actual fog 3000K is recommended as it is the best colour to cut through fog - however you can use any colour you want really!
  3. Yep, with the right bits it's pretty much all plug and play - the hardest part is just getting the cable out of the back of the amp behind the glovebox as it's not in the most convenient location, everything else is surprisingly simple. Here's the thread from my installation a few years ago, I had to do a bit of soldering as the mute lead came with a Nokia plug but I believe Parrot now have a specific one so should be plug and play. LINK
  4. Oh they've moved the button! Didn't bother to poke my head under to check, just put my hand in the middle (where its been on older cars) and got a hard flat surface so assumed they'd got rid of the button Should be getting my car back today but that'll be useful for next time, thanks :winky:
  5. The IS200 is not the best car if fuel economy is the key factor, the manual is better than the auto but my auto averages around 24mpg, and if mainly town driving it's usually around 20-21mpg. As above if you're used to an auto then the IS300 might make sense as there isn't a lot in it fuel wise but the car will feel like less of a power drop from the AMG monster you're currently used to (please post pics as I love AMG mercs!) All the power is at the top end (kicks in at about 4k revs) so you do need to rev it hard to get the best out of it. The supercharger helps sort this out but that's extra expense plus they're pretty hard to get hold of nowadays. In terms of fuel I'd think a BMW would probably make a better option, but I love my IS, it's a great car, still looks great, drives great and has been pretty much trouble free for the 8 years I've owned it. If you drive one and like it, and don't mind the not great fuel economy, then you definitely won't be disappointed.
  6. There is no OEM bluetooth for the IS200 (not even an option) so you'll just have to use an aftermarket kit from Parrot or similar. I have a Bluetouch one which I fitted myself, it's quite straightforward to do if you don't mind having a go yourself.
  7. Not actually my car but I know what you meant :) I wouldn't say it's super easy to close on this car but it is a lot easier than opening it, makes you wonder what kind of springs they've put in there! Also it's a bit weird how we've got so many different experiences with the bootlids on the same car! Another annoyance I discovered yesterday, had to pick something up but left the engine running as I had some passengers who wanted to stay warm, went to put it in the boot but there's no button on the bootlid any more? Then tried the key fob but because the engine was running that doesn't work either! So had to go back into the car and use the button in there.........
  8. Yep I'm looking forward to this one :winky:
  9. Ditto, first I've heard of this and if it was official Ormi would probably know about it.
  10. Could it be an issue with the headlight relay? By any chance have you had your windscreen replaced?
  11. On my IS200 there's an option in Marked Points to delete all I think - is it not the same in the IS250 then?
  12. Yeah iTunes is a very poor piece of software, as above you can manually replace the albumart or otherwise use something like MediaMonkey which is very accurate at tagging to sort your music out and then just use iTunes to sync (or you can even use MM to sync as well if you prefer)
  13. Sorry to see you go mate but good luck with the new car. Really like those 159s, they're very handsome cars :) Hope reliability will be ok :winky:
  14. I've currently got a '10' plate IS250 courtesy car and have to agree about the boot, I can lift the boot on my IS200 with one finger whereas this requires brute force to get it up. Weirdly though when it gets to about half way then it lifts on its own......and closing it is tough but nowhere near as difficult as opening it.
  15. It's not the LE, it's the special edition that came out in 2003 - LINK Was it actually called the IS200 Amarillo or was that just the same of the colour? Either way there were only 50 of them made I believe, roughly one per dealer.
  16. Upload the pics to a site like Photobucket, then use the "insert image" button to enter the pic's URL :)

Lovely looking car, really like the front bumper being quite subtle yet sporty - good luck with the sale :)
  18. Sounds like the special edition model (Amarillo I think or something like that) - IS200 Sport in yellow with styling kit :)
  19. It's amazing how those minor changes have made the car look so much fresher - put a dateless plate on that and I'm sure many would struggle to tell how old it is.
  20. Sorry this took a while, just measured my rear plate and it's 12.5cm high - not sure what standard plate size is but I think this is only maybe 1 or 1.5cm bigger?

The Qualitat is pretty rare isn't it? Makes sense putting it on pistonheads or something where it'll hopefully get picked up by someone who knows what it is :)
  22. Great pics! Hadn't noticed those weird kinks around the grille on the CT - looks a bit weird on the white car, less so on the darker colours. Also the interior of that IS looks really worn out, doesn't say much about the quality of the materials even if there are hundreds of people getting in and out of it every day. Finally still liking that new IS-F instrument cluster, but does it say press the brake and then touch the engine starter with the key? Does that mean it doesn't have full keyless start any more?
  23. Hard luck mate, but it's for a good reason, you can always buy another car later! Congratulations!
  24. As above should be headlights as well, do the headlights work when the switch is in that position?
