  1. Nope the wiring loom is not there, assuming you get all the parts at a reasonable price it will be a pretty big job to replace the wiring loom.
  2. I believe it should be around 14.4V when running? It's normal for it to drop a bit when idling though - when was your last battery change? Might be time for a new battery, but could also be that the standard battery is not powerful enough to power your additional audio equipment? Has this problem existed since you installed it or has it just appeared?
  3. Haven't heard anything about the brand of the windscreen to be honest but it could be a factor. Generally the problem is them not sealing the bottom of the screen well enough, but a poor fit could also be the reason.
  4. I haven't come across a car with an original windscreen that it has happened on - but several car where the windscreen has been replaced. This is the common cause, and it's an expensive fix - it's usually the headlight relay that goes though not the ECU?
  5. Yeah they just pop off - I used a screwdriver to gently prise mine off and had no problems.
  6. Ahh Sweden, that makes sense! Yes it does sound like it had to be a faulty camera, as there are so many parts of the world that suffer these temps (like Canada, etc) so I'd be surprised if they hadn't tested it at those temps.
  7. Where are you based? Part of the lack of responses could be down to the fact I'm not sure how many on here have experienced -20C!
  8. I get 280-300 around town, and 320-350 with a mix of dual carriageway and town - so sounds like you're doing pretty well :)
  9. The difference in price of fuel might be a bit bigger than that and widen further - filled up yesterday and unleaded was £1.29/ltr while diesel was £1.37/ltr. The Lexus petrol engines are rock solid, the only real major complaint with IS250s are dash rattles, so best to take an extended test drive and make sure it's all fine.
  10. Sorry to hear about your job situation. Unfortunately I don't really know the answer to this, best to speak to the finance company. I think you will have the option to either return the car or try and change to something that costs less - either way though there will probably be charges involved, plus a shortfall between the finance outstanding and the value they currently place on the car. You'll need to get all the figures and decide which works best for you.
  11. There are a few happy diesel owners out there, but given everything I read on here it's a bit hit and miss and I personally wouldn't take the gamble. The diesel isn't available as an auto either, it's manual only.
  12. As above there was no diesel in the MK1 IS, the Sportcross was available as a 300 only to begin with, and then the 200 was made available in 2003 I think. The IS is a competent cruiser, but I'm pretty sure nowhere near the comfort levels of the LS - I personally think the 300 will be the better choice for you, there won't be much in it in fuel and the extra power and refinement will be worth more to you. Best to take one for a test drive and see how you go :)
  13. Never had a skipping problem with any CD-R to be honest, even unbranded cheapo ones - could there be an issue with your writer?
  14. These may help a bit, but they have both the darkened headlamps and fogs.......
  15. Not sure about the causes, but the price of the bearings sounds quite expensive? I recently replaced the bearings on my IS and they were £82+VAT each so unless the LS parts are a lot more expensive I would query that. Also did they replace just one brake disc? I've never heard of that being done........ Personally I'd have it done somewhere else, I had a bearing recently replaced at my Lexus dealer and it cost half what you've been quoted.
  16. WIM themselves are in Chesham, but they have several approved centres around the country Click here
  17. I think the Road Angel Connected is the pick of the bunch at the moment as it updates itself but it does have subscription fees. Laser detectors are fine, it's the jammers that are against the law but if it has a legitimate purpose (garage door/electric gate opener or parking sensor) then technically you can't get in trouble for it.
  18. That's a pretty decent analysis from Simon and I think I pretty much agree with it. I don't think I'd buy a front wheel drive car at all personally, I really like the V8 S5 but other than that I think my choice would be the C-Class (in sport guise).
  19. I haven't heard of a single case of this problem continuing to exist after using WIM's revised settings. And you're having far more aggressive wear than I ever had and most others, does point to the fact that there may be a deeper underlying cause..........
  20. Fair enough, if it's happened a few times in the same location and nowhere else, it is most likely some form of radio interference.
  21. Interesting, so the UK and US cars were the same, seems the dealers were lying or oblivious to the fact.
  22. Yes it does look a little overpriced given the mileage and that it needs a bit of tidying up.........
  23. I have no experience of the LS400 but that works out to 9.4mpg which does sound poor - what sort of mileage were you getting beforehand?
  24. You'll have to drive them both, I haven't driven the A5 but audis are quite numb to drive, especially the FWD ones so you'll have to try it and see whether it suits you.
