  1. Go for the IS250. Unless you do massive miles the 220d won't make a huge difference, plus if you're used to the mpg on an IS200 auto (which is poor) the IS250 auto will be fine, when I have courtesy cars easily average 27-28 mpg. This will be a much better investment as well than spending the same money on a newer eurobox.
  2. They do look good and very reasonably priced but it seems massive!
  3. Done a bit of searching and everything I've found says that the front indicator is 7440 - PY21W is the rear indicator.
  4. I have no idea what the bulb is as I've never had to change it, but I'll have a quick look in the manual for you this evening (as long as I remember!) if no one gets back to you sooner.
  5. I haven't driven the GS450h but have the IS-F, and if it was me and those were my only two choices it would be the IS-F every time. It is a great car to drive, and has enough by way of luxury for me. Although coming from an LS you might have different priorities, I don't think the IS-Fs ride is harsh at all, but it does get a lot of abuse in reviews about it. The GS450h is very brisk in a straight line, won't be as good in the corners but has to be more comfortable due to more compliant suspension. Plus the GS450h Sport has active roll bars which might make it decent enough through the corners. You're probably going to have to try both and see which you prefer - which doesn't seem like a bad way to spend an afternoon :winky:
  6. I don't think anything will quite match the luxury of the LS, but all Lexus models have a decent level of luxury so it depends what you're looking for really. As you'd imagine as you work your way down the range the luxury goes down and the driver focus goes up. Probably best to have a go in all of them and see which one is the best fit. A GS430 or GS450h seems like the obvious choice though :)
  7. Sorry completely forgot to measure my plate, will let you know tomorrow hopefully!
  8. If you want to be legal there is only one way you can go, and that is what you see on pretty much every car on the road. Everything else is illegal :)
  9. I had always heard this term premium pack but didn't realise that it covered quite a few things like the ML system, thought it was just the extra fancy bits in the rear like the fridge and extra radio/climate controls. But I imagine being the LS that cars without the premium pack are probably quite rare?
  10. Steve doesn't really come on here any more so thought I'd help out. I have the intermediate size plate, I remember when I bought the IS there were three sizes that dealers seemed to fit, a standard plate, a large plate (that almost fills the gap) and a medium sized plate (which is the one I have). Not sure on it's exact size but I'll measure it for you and let you know. Here's a pic:
  11. I agree depending on the colour, we have the shiny wood in our merc too (which was an option, standard is matt) and much prefer it. There's a really nice dark wood in the LS that comes with the white interior that looks fantastic imho.
  12. I like the interior of that Sport model, the two tone leather with contrast stitching and the matte wood look really good. However I don't think shiny wood on its own is the problem - other manufacturers make it work and it looks fine. For some reason Lexus choose sometimes to use what I call "american" wood which looks like plastic........
  13. An IS300 headlight will not directly fit an IS200 - but the headlight in the picture is an IS200 headlight. Best to confirm with the seller whether that photo is accurate.
  14. Yep 8N8 is the right one for a 2003 car (strathcaron blue) - the sports grille was never available in 8N8 so it isn't a stock problem. You'll have to buy another colour and have it painted.
  15. Have you tried cleaning the window? You can also get products when applied to the screen stop them from misting up. But as above keep the A/C on and keep the system on fresh air and mine never mists up (and as above don't need to keep it cold just turn the temp up!)
  16. I've got 5000K 50W and don't think it's too bright at all.......
  17. That was my thought too. For 30k there are some 2nd hand IS-F's available on the lexus website. You can also get fully loaded RX400h's 2nd hand for that money. Or a CT200h and save some money on fuel. Yep my dealer is one of those, and I've been considering it. Although for me the fuel really isn't a concern, it's just whether I want an IS-F over other alternatives.........
  18. I have wondered the same recently, but on the other hand some people are still making stunning cars so it can't be that - I think this is the effect of cost-saving on car design.
  19. Welcome back! I'm still here :) No more problems to report either :winky:
  20. I'm not entirely sure how but I think the procedure is in the manual isn't it?
  21. Are all your brake lights working? Common fault when that light comes on is I think the centre high level brake light is out.
