  1. i've noticed recently that the paint on my front bumper is not as shiny as the rest of the car. how has this happened? i always wash and wax regularly is it a problem with the paint or can it be restored with some kind of polish? btw its not the metallic shinyness that i'm talking about, its the actual finish, its a bit matt rather than gloss (bad example i know)
  2. how is the new rx300 by the way? have you had a chance to see one?
  3. its a lexus, nothing will go wrong! :D however, doesn't lexus roadside assistance cover the whole of europe?
  4. sorry, now i'm being misleading u do have to pay extra for say, strathcaron blue but as its not on that list, you may think you don't have to
  5. u not a boy racer? you already got 18" rims and now u gettin a yellow IS with stylin kit? :P
  6. i've heard this double glazing thing before, not sure who said it last time can it be done, how? and more importantly, how much does it cost sounds wicked, cos my dads merc has double glazin and after seeing them, normal windows just don't seem thick enough
  7. isn't that a bit misleading, a prospective buyer may think that you wouldn't have to pay extra for, for example, strathcaron blue :duh:
  8. dont mean to ruin the party but maybe fewer spokes would look better...
  9. course it doesn't matter where you are! the more the merrier :) no i was asking to know whether there was no plate on the front because you were in the US (also car was LHD) but you do have to put the plate on? but there's no fixing thing on the bumper, does that have to be fitted too?
  10. sorry if i bein stupid but you're in the US right? Car looks fantastic, especially with no license plate on the front, wish we could do that :(
  11. the sunroof thing is in the manual, i'm sure i read it there the fuel thing, i found it works best to turn the nozzle 90 degrees anti clockwise (so the hose is pointing towards the back of the car) but sometimes even this doesnt work however, i have found the solution all the new bp connect petrol stations have wicked pumps that allow you to pump fuel normally even into the IS! Go on try it, u won't believe it, i didn't. No wiggling the pump around to make it fill Just stick it in, and pump. easy as that
  12. you're too far away then so does each dealer print the accessories catalogue themselves?
  13. if those are the RRP prices, are the dealers allowed to sell them at higher prices? also, i was shown the price in a lexus accessories catalogue finally which is your dealership chris?
  14. more info on www.punctureshield.co.uk
  15. I was at ideal home show today, and came across something called Puncture Shield. It worked brilliantly in the demonstration, but am worried that as with most things at the show, they work fine there but are useless when you get them home. :( Basically, its some kinda liquid that you put in your tyres and if you do get a puncture, the liquid seals the hole back up (similar to tyre weld but you do it before puncture rather than after) My question is, does anyone know anything about this (or even better has anyone used it)? Also, is it safe for the ever prone to corrode alloys? I want to know quick cos if this thing works, i wanna get it in asap cos its brilliant!
  16. i've got the horizontal one. it hooks onto the four silver hooks in the boot, elasticated cargo net - speaks for itself really, still want picture? It is excellent though, nothin rolls around with that in :D Did you say £36.95 for horizontal cargo net? I paid £42.25 for mine Where do the vertical ones go? Do they section off the part behind the wheel arches?
  17. yeah read on here somewhere that you should run aircon quite regularly even in winter when don't need cold (also stops windows misting up) and in winter you should run system on full cold for five or ten minutes (cant remember which) once a week to clean out system
  18. i agree that while i think the speedo is fantastic, the centre console is a bit dated but in terms of ergonomics, the IS is far better that than the 3-series. The IS satnav is in the drivers line of sight so hardly have to take your eyes off the road to see it. It is also separate from the radio (although not as cool) is much more simple to operate both while driving. The BM has all button climate control, pain in the backside whereas IS has easy to use chunky knobs. Also climate controls are too low and also recessed under the main console (when you have satnav) so out of reach IS is more roomy inside (although boot is smaller) can't really compare IS200 to BM 328 cos its always gonna feel slow in comparison but when compared to 320, its not really much slower and if you really do need more power, you can always supercharge to push the IS over 200bhp (i think) I do like the 3-series and its main problem is still the way it looks. Badge kudos is one thing, but the way a car looks is more important to me. I don't mean bodykits or anythin but just the way the car looks standard, and the BMW looks really dull, especially after they facelifted it and tampered too much
  19. does that mean that you could add even the mp3 player to it ok you wouldn't be able to use satnav and mp3 at same time but you could connect without using the fm modulator
  20. with what you said about BMW selling more cars than Lexus could imagine, couldn't be further from the truth. In the US (world's biggest market), lexus outsold bmw (even with their smaller range of vehicles) now i agree that the 3-series saloon is the finest handling small saloon (but definitely not the 316 or 318, they're awful) but we're talking about the compact which is nowhere near as inspired a drive the M5 is a fantastic car and even i wouldn't not buy that just to avoid a bmw, i definitely would buy it but the IS is very very good and normal driving will not bring out the reasons why the 3-series is a better handler the 3-series doesn't even look that special anymore, far too plain and uninspired the IS still has that racing stance, the power bulge in the bonnet, aggressive bumpers so to sum up, the IS handles almost as well as a 3, costs loads less, higher spec and looks so much more sporty lexus customer care is far better if you buy a bmw after all that, you are simply being a sheep, aren't you if you don't mind my asking, why do you not like the IS so much, maybe if i knew i could understand more
  21. its the error part that i'm worried about is it likely to corrode, or is the lexus bodywork pretty good even under the paintwork?
  22. i enquired about this when i got my car i think the reason why you can't add it is because the satnav occupies the input on the stereo that the MD changer would use (but i'm not absolutely sure about it) yeah you're right its far too expensive, you could always get the sony 6 disc MDLP changer and use an FM modulator i gave up on the MD idea when i found out about the Dension mp3 player! now jus waiting for bucks to go out and buy one!
  23. yeah i was a bit misleading, sorry would the touch up paint work on the crack i have in the paintwork that i put up in the other post?
  24. were you talking to me there chris? it was lexus edgware road sorry if there was a bit of confusion
  25. thanks for backin me up UKPulse - at least someone else is good with their numbers!
