i have the dunlops and have been perfectly happy with them also, i prefer them to the bridgestones because they have a racier tread pattern (but thats just me being silly )

was it expensive to make the seats fully leather? did you need to re-upholster the whole seat or just the centre parts?

which tyres are more expensive, bridgestone or dunlop? if you've got the more expensive ones, no problem!

that looks amazing need to get that done. did you have to do anything to prepare the calipers - sanding, undercoat, etc or just take off wheel and get painting B)

i'd really like to do this but am a bit scared about doing this myself Would my lexus dealer do it for me? Also, where do you get those silver lexus decals that i saw someone had? Are they expensive and do they come off easily?

thanks mr.lex. that systems amazing then, but is there a reason why the concept 600 and the avantgarde 4 are both £500 when the avantgarde 4 does a whole lot more? also why is the avantgarde not thatcham evaluated but the 600 is? the car jacking thing is amazing but is it operated by the remote? wot if they take that with the keys?

was reading about the clifford alarm and is there anything that alarm doesn't do? so this remote start thingy starts the engine but keeps doors locked and alarm set? wot happens if someone breaks in? does it switch off the engine? also, and more importantly, are these ok with insurance companies? cos it's illegal to leave your car unattended with the engine running, is this the same?

how exactly does it work? do you just press unlock or something and the engine fires up?

speaking of insurance, how much does it usually increase by when you make modifications? only cosmetic ones (no superchargers or chips or nothin)

Has anyone owned both a manual and an auto IS200? Is the auto really almost 2 seconds slower than the manual to 60?

sorry must have been mistaken but i saw someone's installation that i'm sure was quanan and his ones were surface mounted but if there are ones available same as lexus ones then i apologise for the useless advice it also means i paid out £400 quid to lexus for no reason

I have the Lexus OEM Parking Sensors and am very happy with them. The only advantage of the Quanam system is that is has a visual readout but from what I have seen its pretty ugly (nothing like the one in mercs so you probably wouldnt use it). The Lexus ones have no visual indicator at all but it is not really necessary. Also, the quanam sensors appear to fix onto the bumper, whereas the Lexus sensors are embedded into the bumper. With regards, to painting them, i'm not sure, but mine are blue to match the car. I'm not sure whether Lexus painted them but they look more like they just came blue. All in all, i think the lexus sensors leave a more professional and 'meant to be there' finish. Also, there are 4 sensors in the Lexus system.

You should definitely go with the Blue, i just got a blue one and the car looks pure class in it. The red doesn't look so bad in the pictures but i saw one in the dealer the other day and it doesn't look right. Try and see one in the flesh (as it were) before making a decision because in my opinion, the solid colours don't suit the IS (except black cos everything looks good in black!)

Thanks guys for all the replys, I think I might give Dentwizard a call on Monday to see about charges. Yeah, Lexus Edgware Road said they use them to repair dents out of their used cars so I guess they must be good. Salisbury's a bit far but his prices appear to be quite good so I think I'll check with Dentwizard first and see what their prices are like. Kev Dood, it'll be great if you could put up the price for you're repair when you have it done, it'll give me something to compare to. Also, please could you put up how well they do the job! Thanks for all the replys. I'm in North London by the way and I use Lexus Edgware Road so anywhere round there is fine. To Usually 007, so the guy you used was really good. Whereabouts was that? Are you in London? Was he expensive? Finally to gooseman, yeah i would've hung around but that lucky, lucky person got no damage cos it hit his bump strip (it was its pointy surface that caused the dent in the door. But you're right about how annoying it is, my old car got keyed, dented, scraped, so i know all about it. Hope i'll have better luck with the Lexus!! (even though it hasnt started well) :(

On wednesday a sudden gust of wind caught my passenger by surprise and blew the door onto the car parked next to me. Bit annoying as its bent the edge of the door. Its not a big dent but considerably ugly so went to have an estimate at Lexus. However, they said it would cost about £500 cos both doors would need to be sprayed. He then gave me a number for a company called Dentwizard who could remove the dent for about £60-70 if I didn't mind ignoring the crack in the paintwork. Sorry about the long explanation but my point is, has anyone used this company before (I've seen previous discussions similar to this), are they any good, and is there anyone else like this around London who does a good job. Also, if someone could tell me how you guys put pictures in these posts, I'd be happy to put up pictures of the damage.

I'm quite new to this having only had my IS for bout 2 months, but it hasnt got any traction in the snow that just appeared today! Even with the snow button on, wheels spin as soon as you touch the accelerator. Also any kind of turn makes the tail slide out. Is this normal, is the traction control supposed to do nothing!! Please help cos I don't wanna end up crashing it!!!

yeah i saw that too, but wasnt sure if it was the normal lip spoiler cos havent seen it from that angle. Does anyone know if there are any lip spoilers available that go the full width of the car, and not just the bootlid cos i dont like the way it makes the car look narrower?

hi everyone i'm new to this having only just got my IS and discovered this site. anyway, i want to add an mp3 player but don't want to lose the standard stereo. is this possible? which is the best player to buy? i've been looking into the dension mp3 player. will this connect directly to the original lexus radio?
