  1. does it happen at all speeds, or just at low speeds or when slowing down? if only at low speed and when slowing down, it what someone said earlier. the wide low-profile tyres follow the contours of the road as the surface of the tyre is flat
  2. sorry to hear that mate some people shouldn't be allowed on the road i try and use the spaces for mother and baby, cos then there's 2 foot either side of car even complete morons cant get at the car then hope u get it all sorted easily, can recommend dentwizard in north london, they did a great job an quite cheap too
  3. yeah i thought it was wicked too wonder if all that stuff does actually work
  4. firstly, how do they release so many different models in Japan, do they not undergo any development? as they have now separated lexus and toyota and that they are now going to sell lexus in japan too, i assume that the next small lexus to be launched in japan will be the new IS! digital climate display would be nice but i hope they keep the knobs rather than silly buttons in other cars i don't think that not having folding seats is anything to do with rear wheel drive, i think its just cos in japan they like the boot to be completely sealed off even if the car is open (hence no release for boot except inside car and on key) dont we already have an armrest?
  5. there should definitely be better fuel consumption combined with more power (maybe one of these hybrid engines) there should also be all the gadgets available on mercs and bmws i definitely agree with the DAB tuner (i don't know why even cars like the LS, S-class and 7 series still dont have them) and some kind of MP3 player (preferably big hard drive) and they need to illuminate the switches for the windows and mirrors (its so irritating that they can't do something simple like that which you can find on absolutely any car ) finally, i'd like to see a car that will come up on tv shows as the best small sports saloon! (better even than a BM 3-series!)
  6. i havent tried it myself but i've heard that lexus insurance can be quite cheap have you tried all the usuals, directline, privilege, elephant and admiral they're usually the cheapest for young drivers
  7. the amount of wrong targets they hitting, its more like they using Ford satnav!! Mine doesnt have any trouble with setting up at the start, its just while on the move it makes a few errors but only in central london. It must be due to all the buildings around
  8. i wasn driving in central london yesterday, and my satnav kept losing its position and as i didnt know where i was going i ended up driving around in circles has this happened to anyone else? (the satnav problem, not driving round in circles ) is it due there being lots of buildings around confusing the signal or is it a problem that i should take up with the dealer? another thing, when the side windows are wet, does opening them and closing them clear the water away cos mine does absolutely nothing which is a little frustrating at times, will the dealer do anything about that or will he simply say they aren't supposed to do that?
  9. a month, really? how much is your mondeo worth? your best bet is just do a search on the lexus website, find the car you want, go to that dealer and get it as simple as that :P
  10. i was just lookin at that website and could i ask did you buy the one by a brand called ALTAI, the one for £9.99? I'm not sure if its just mine but i have one of those exact adaptors and it has an awful lot of hiss when its plugged in. About the sony car adaptor, they still do the adaptors but they come in packages with their discmans, and are not listed separately on the website. However, i'm quite sure that you can buy them in some electronics shops. Anyway, hopefully the one you've bought will be fine :D
  11. you mean £60k or 60K miles? Have you tried your local dealer, if they got one, they'll give you one pretty quick
  12. i think u can still get them from argos, and sony do them
  13. if you're in europe, you get the different model lineup don't you with the IS200 executive i was lookin at that and it has wood trim but my lexus dealer is sayin that you can't get it over here do they sell right hand drive cars over there if u ask for it? cos that would mean that the wood trim for right hand drive cars is available
  14. yeah i agree with UK Pulse, when i had my test drive it was in a 3 year old IS with 45000 miles on the clock, and it ran perfectly. Not a single squeak or rattle anywhere and the engine was perfect. went for a test drive in an '03' BMW 325 Sport Coupe (far far more expensive) the other day and the interior trim was rattling all over the shop, i couldn't believe it the only thing that worried me when i bought the IS was that the BMW may be better (but was too expensive) now i know the IS is the best thing out there
  15. a new dash? what happened to yours? or is wrong with yours? how much are they replacing? now that i've found so many others with this problem, maybe i could check on another, has anyone noticed how quickly the plastics on the interior trim deteriorate? The plastic seems to scuff really easily, is there any way to make it nice again?
  16. well done for getting it to show up on camera yeah thats wot's happened to my bumper but its happened to the whole front bumper to the right of the license plate have they agreed to fix it? i think i may try that too, but your car's only 4 weeks old, will they still do anything for my 7 month old car?
  17. thats a pretty good deal :D too bad i have a black interior :(
  18. yeah i saw that too, its only a 5" screen but the mounting is so big it doesn't fit i've seen 6.5" screens that fit perfectly
  19. heard someone talk of an automatic choke i thought fuel injected cars didn't have or need a choke
  20. but the rear bumper is absolutely fine, it is just as shiny as the bodywork (like a mirror :D ) and my old car, a renault, had perfect bumpers for its whole 4 year life same with the other cars in the household, merc, audi, no probs with them the lex isnt even 1 year old, surely this can't be normal
  21. i agree with you mate, i love the way the 200 sounds refined at low revs, and then roars (a little) at higher revs. Straight 6s give a much better sound than V6s too, and there must be some other reason cos some sports cars (new BMW Z4) have straight 6s too
  22. if you stick your fingers in the gap between the rear seat cushion and the backrest, you will find two metal hooks (one on the left and one on the right) This is what the isofix label means - and basically you can attach an isofix child seat by attaching directly to these hooks rather than using the seatbelt Much safer i guess but never used it so better ask one of the others sho does
