  1. Never use Scotch-Loks for any permanent connections. In my experience they end up being the source of many a problem.
  2. It wouldn't invalidate your warranty if you removed it before asking the garage to attempt warranty work on your car ;)
  3. You need to get a four wheel alignment check done(not just tracking) on the car as the first action. Only this will tell you if there is something wrong with the the wheel setup, or god forbid the chassis of the car. Anything else will just be guessing. It could be that the toe or castor is out of spec, suspect camber wouldn't cause tramlining. Admittedly those tyre pressures seem way too high, but if you had them set lower previously and still experienced tramlining then the issue is still there regardless of pressures. I also used to drive the A12 from Witham to Brentwood daily and never experienced bad tramlining.
  4. Wow, that was a great contribution to the thread...........NOT!!!
  5. Most dealerships will have an arrangement with their preferred mobile alloy wheel repair specialist. This is exactly what they do when they get cars in part-ex if the wheels are scuffed and actually want to put them on their own forecourt, rather than send them for auction.
  6. Mine weren't when they were done by the dealership.
  7. It looks like you need some education on how to research products, use Youtube to find the right product, not jump to conclusions based on your recollection of a similar product and more importantly read more accurately peoples posts. It kind of gives it away in the Youtube video when the guy starts talking with an American accent. So for a more accurate video of how these are attached see 200h's post or this YouTube video: Want to tell me at what point was the tyre deflated ? :yack:
  8. You don't want those! They look awful and alter the bead of the tyre. They deflate the tyre, stick these in and then re inflate. A few people on other forums have had trouble with them as they ruin the ability of the tyre to hold tight onto the rim and result in sudden and spontaneous deflation. Risky business in my eyes How exactly do these alter the bead of the tyre ? Do you actually know how a tyre is constructed? For your education.... Unless you actually remove the tyre to fit these, and looking at the reviews and description you obviously don't, then there is no way that you can alter the bead of the tyre. These obviously just stick onto the edge of the rim so won't change the construction or performance of the tyre at all.
  9. And if you unlock it from a distance at night (with the fob) then the headlights will come on to guide you.
  10. Congratulations, does look very nice. Is there any chance you can let us have a pic of under the bonnet when you get a sec.
  11. Where did you get this info from? Would love to know how that's achieved.

  13. Might be interesting to know how long it takes for the heater to warm up in the Yaris compared to the IS300h. I suspect quite a while longer.
  14. Think you need to book an appointment with your dealer i'm afraid :(
  15. Did you get chance to switch the car off during your journey or have you driven it since? Just wondering if it's a one-off.
  16. Ryaan, you and car comparisons don't go together if you recall some of your posts about the RC-F. :shutit:
  17. Errr no it doesn't , BMW 320d does 0-60 in 7.7secs, the IS300h in 8.3 (0-62). Over half a second is a massive difference ask any drag racer. I think your definition of a sports or high performance car is a little bit different to others. There are plenty of sporty styled cars out there but in this day and age high performance would normally imply a sub 5second 0-60 time and single figure mpg when pressing on. The IS300 is a very good car but it will never fall into the sports or high performance category.
  18. Any car can be forced to relearn its timing by resetting the ECU. Disconnecting the battery or removing the EFI fuses for a few minutes will usually achieve this. The timing and fuelling trims will then be defaulted and the ECU will go through a relearning phase for the next few miles. If you perform this reset after putting in a premium fuel then it could result in increased performance if the ECU has been programmed that way (to advance timing just prior to the onset of knock). However in the case of the IS300h I suspect everything is setup around economy so you won't see any benefits with premium fuels.
  19. Toyota have been using proper engineered number plate fixings since at least the mid 90's. Just using a self-tapper into metal is or metal spring clips reminds me of my old Capri. :)
  20. Also make sure your windows are clean on the inside. It's amazing how much 'grime' gets drawn in by the AC and ends up on the windows and this can cause things to steam up quicker. As per the other posts above i've never had an issue and I just leave the AC on auto all the time and just change the temperature as I wish.
  21. Ive only come across maybe 3 cases on the forum (which, lets face it, is where everyone goes when they have problems). Really? I would have thought most people go to Lexus rather looking for a forum to post on. Guess you learn something new everyday.
  22. I think you mis-understand the reason for the pistons and pop-up hood. It is only fitted to cars whose engine is fairly high in the bay and close to the bonnet, and thus in the event of an impact by a pedestrian there is a risk of their head\body deforming the bonnet and contacting the engine. Some cars don't need the pop-up hood to pass the relevant pedestrian safety tests.
  23. Yep, only rub them in an anti-clockwise direction as otherwise you may get knocked out by the bonnet popping up in your face :O
