  1. I'm sure I read somewhere that the system can be paired with two sets of sensors. If not I'm sure there are third party apps around that can help with this.
  2. I think you may have just lost any credibility you had there. Comparing a £350k engineering tour de force with a £65k GT car just demonstrates a complete lack of understanding.
  3. The F-Sport also has sports suspension on the IS200t, whether that is the full AVS i'm not sure.
  4. How do you qualify that statement? As an example do you know for sure that over 50% of IS owners are registered to a Lexus forum? I suspect not. Also go and look at any forum for any make of car and you'd never buy any model because your perception would be that they are all full of faults. As per Zotto's comment above, recalls are usually reserved for issues which may affect a driver (or passengers) safety or health.
  5. Really? Have you ever been accused of exaggerating? Congratulations James. I for one will be interested to hear the feedback from IS200t drivers once deliveries start to be made. Will be interesting to see if any of the buyers of this variant take to modifying them more so than the owners of the hybrid version.
  6. As I said a lot of mis-information in this thread.... http://www.commaoil.com/productsguide/file/0a543aac95b531147e2f713a43e0e4b8 http://msdspds.castrol.com/bpglis/FusionPDS.nsf/Files/0494F0048479BCF380257820005398DC/$File/BPXE-8DHDD7_0.pdf Not such an authoritive force but looks like they did their research.... http://www.onallcylinders.com/2014/07/18/ask-away-jeff-smith-shelf-life-brake-fluid/ So it looks like I know more than some.
  7. At last some sense in this thread !!! There is a lot of mis-information in this thread, particularly about brake fluid. Brake fluid is hygroscopic meaning that unless its sealed in a container(even then it will degrade) then it will absorb moisture from the atmosphere. It has nothing to do with how often you use your brakes. Also i'd love to see somebody replace it all and get air out just via the master cylinder At the end of the day all main dealer servicing is a rip off. The interim service parts and consumables probably cost no more than £40 at dealer cost prices and then they supposedly do a load of checks. If you think those checks are worth another £100 - £200 then please let me know what profession you're in so that I can change career path !!! If you're not interested or can't do servicing yourself (most likely because you want to maintain the warranty) then the best option is to find a good local independent garage, and as Ganzoom says try to build up a relationship with them. Unfortunately they are unlikely to know any of the common failures on a car as rare as a Lexus until they are many years older, a Lexus garage will have the back up of the whole network and Toyota corporate to guide them on things to look out for. However again is that really worth the extra £100 to £200 on top of what they 'have' to do? Back to the OP's point I think the main driver for you will most likely be trying to maintain the warranty so you will need to get a stamp in the book at the right mileage or age.
  8. Interesting, I did the same thing a back to back test drive convinced I was going to like the 250 more, but ended up choosing the 300H. Mind you I have two other sports cars for my driving pleasure and the IS300H was for daily commuting etc.
  9. Wow, that's really rare !!!! A third generation IS250 owner :D
  10. Congratulations on the purchase, I think you're the first 200t owner who's posted on here. There are plenty of parts available in the US and some in Japan, although they can be for slightly different variants. Take a look on the US forums: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-3rd-gen-2014-present-249/
  11. So are you going to share or just try to grab attention?
  12. They may increase power at certain points in the rev band, but its possible that you could also lose power at some points in the rev band. Despite what the nay sayers may have you believe drop in panel filters can sometimes provide power improvements, but each car is different and they work better on some cars than others. The only way to tell for sure will be a pre and post dyno run.
  13. It will probably make a slight difference when you're running on the petrol engine. Doesn't seem to be many people modifying their IS's in the UK
  14. That does look nice in red any chance of a side pic? Congratulations !
  15. A little off-topic I think? Good to hear that you're still enjoying the car Len and interesting to read your comments about the infotainment system considering how much bad press it comes in for.
  16. It's probably just because its a little colder this morning so the pressures have dropped outside the tolerance. Check the tyre pressures are all good manually and then re-calibrate the system following the procedure in the handbook. It's in the handbook under the DIY maintenance section and has been posted on here a few times. There's a sequence of switching on the ignition and pressing the reset button located in the middle and at the bottom of the drivers trim panel that surrrounds the steering rack.
  17. Did you ask him if he would paint in a 'House of Kolor' paint for less than £200 ?
  18. No probs. Can you tell I also found it annoying :D
