  1. just a quick update, I got the bonnet back off the buyer today, I did feel he was genuine with his complaint, simply with the tone of the messages, he never accused me of trying to rip him off or anything like that, and so I tried to help as best I could now as i'd opened a case to the seller I originally got the bonnet off they simply asked for me to show images of the defects, they will claim a refund for me in the next coming week and will only ask for the bonnet back if they really have to, so... I put the bonnet on my own car and took a couple of photos... you can see how the panel gap is pretty much parallel until it reaches the headlamp, then curves away from the wing Then took a couple of photos of imperfections in the carbon weave, they had started to go white in places: The bolt holes are too small for the original bolts, the supplied bolt's heads are small enough to go completely through the bonnet hinges, so would need some good washers/collars on for them to fit and stay still, all in all a bad experience, just hoping the seller offers me a refund, as I still need to refund my buyer for his return postage all in all, lesson learned, the panel gaps wouldn't be half as noticeable on a dark car though so if the original seller does not want it back i'm gonna put it on a no reserve back on ebay, but showing all defects, someone may make use of it
  2. fortunately the seller has accepted my request for a refund, just got to wait for the buyer to return it to me, i've then got to make sure it is the one I sold him and then fit to take photos of the panel gaps, then pack it back up and return it to the guys I bought it off, then hopefully I get my cash back, the impression I get from both the seller and the person I then sold it to are that they are genuine so fingers crossed things will be resolved smoothly
  3. no fortunately so its not like i'll be going back on my word either, i've sent the original supplier my request for a refund and quoted the sale of goods act anyway simply because he is trading as a business
  4. I bought a carbon bonnet, back in feb, on ebay from unique_clothing who also trade as JDM parts or something, but soon after decided to sell the car so never even fitted the bonnet, I just put it back on ebay as my 14 days change of mind had passed it sold and I checked and sent it, it arrived at its new owners a day later than it should have but thats not a big deal, anyway he has fitted it and sasys the panel gaps are huge and wants a refund, theres little I can do given that the bonnet is a cheaper than usual carbon fibre job I assume the chap is telling the truth and it doesn't fit well, I have asked him to carefully wrap it back up in its original box and return it and agreed I will refund if it is simply a bad fit, warning that any damage would mean no refund meanwhile I have opened a dispute with unique_clothing so I can hopefully return it to them, but i'm way over my 45 days seller protection, sale of goods act is on my side if the item is not fit for purpose, as its only 3 months since purchase, but what if ebay sides with the seller as I didn't respond earlier? how easy is it to get money back from an online business??
  5. Took a few pics after swapping the wheels back to standard and givin it a clean and polish, the wheel refurb came out a little darker than I intended and the pics make them look darker still, but they are grey, not black lol
  6. I dunno if I can help, I happen to have similar wheels for sale, only thing is they all have tyres and I realise you have bought brand new rubber too?? Although my wheels are used, a couple have very minor kerbing and one a slight dent in the (replaceable) lip, only took them off the car yesterday but i'll be giving a good clean and polish up over the next couple of days
  7. Saab 9-3 diesel, I already know its gonna be nothing like the Lexus but I want something cheaper to tax/fuel that isn't as common as Audi or bmw, but still nice and a decent size, the facelift 08 9-3 vector ticks all the boxes for me
  8. Mines for sale very shortly so that's why I've decided to stick the standard wheels on, otherwise yes I would definitely leave them on, it really does turn heads especially when its clean, even though there's 4 red ones in my area, but all the others are totally standard and all 200s
  9. Hey, just sold a bonnet, can anyone recommend a reasonably priced courier, speedy and safe, or if anyone has experience of paisleyfreight at all??
  10. Slightly off topic, but is it a bumper off job or just a case of pulling back the arch liners?
  11. Patience paid off Ash, I decided to keep mine to fit to the car and sell those team dynamics ones I mentioned instead, just waiting to get a puncture fixed now Rich did you get yours of that fella who sold several sets? I still had my green IS then and had a set off him also at 120, imagine my surprise when I checked the boxes and found 2 full sets of wheel nuts in with them
  12. Not too dissimilar to the ones I have, they look good
  13. Off topic, but which Saab did u have, I'm on the lookout for a facelift 9-3 at the moment
  14. I can't do PX simply as I've no room, mine is goin up at £4k initially for strangers but I'm happy negotiating for members, only because it is just at 70k miles with full service history from Lexus and Toyota, maintained regardless of cost, cambelt done, bodywork very tidy, had a very minor bump as detailed on an older thread, only damage was bonnet, and bumper was scratched, was promptly repaired and I took that opportunity to get the body kit done I may well be leaving the pictured wheels on as the standard ones may be more profitable sold separately, again, open to discussion I've only seen others for sale with similar mileage, history, or extras for well above £3k, whether or not they sold is another story but I'll see what happens
  15. I took the rear wheel, caliper and disc off this morning, and it was the same thing on mine. It was scraping on the bottom edge of the back plate. It had created quite a deep groove around the disc plate so I tweaked the bottom of the back plate slightly ( with a hammer and block ) and the scraping noise has completely gone now.RX-Men-8; What did you do to fix yours ? I have the same scrapebut when moving left, can the plate be checked for contact without removing the disk and caliper? I don't like messing around near the brakes so want to undo the absolute minimum
  16. Glove box should open on all correct keys, one of mine doesn't but that's simply down to being very slightly incorrect at the tip of the blade, but if I wiggle it it works, same with the boot
  17. Mine only came with one master key, bought 2 transponders and blades, a 2 and another 3 button and had the blades cut for a few quid, re-programmed my transponders myself, I now have 3 keys Had to do that with my first Lex too as that just had the one master key with it
  18. Mines going to be valeted by our anti-local hand car wash after I've been round the door shuts and inside the sunroof area, then after the valet, clayed, polished, and demon shined, then photographed, then with any luck I'll have a Saab 9-3 in a few weeks :-)
  19. Mine also knocks in the same circumstances, I reckon mine is just the pads moving in the caliper, as it sailed thru the mot no problems
  20. thats good to hear Ian, i've had a quick look at the Saab today and I like it a lot, just gonna join one of Saab's forums for some buying tips, i've decided on the model I want, just need to find a good one with the right mileage :D i've just had a set of standard 11-spoke alloys refurbished in anthracite to go on the IS300 so it'll look nicely standard soon
  21. I'm sure we'll manage for parts as long as eBay exists, that doesn't worry me
  22. Ruled out jag due to the poor interior, would really like an opinion on this tho: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201304046100724 Saab 9-3 1.9 TiD just in case the link don't work, its got 70k on a 57 plate
  23. I've seen them reach £50 numerous times in the past, £20 is reasonable
