  1. I remember givin a few workmates a lift into town after a birthday do and the car park was gravel and had the odd puddle, so I couldn't avoid the inevitible foot mark as they got in, and without asking, they all offered a little "fuel money" and it more than covered the cost of cleanin it, so I couldn't complain, but I do hate when food/drink rubbish is left behind
  2. The spats were boxed as aero spats, I think as an option rather than changing the full bumper to the aero one, I have these also
  3. I don't have a hot air gun so all i'd say is be careful, you just have to warm it enough to soften the seal, then when you squeeze the light it should help close any gaps some would say no to removing the bumper, but under each headlamp there is a black clip that is easy to break if you remove the lamps without removing the bumper, I find mine shake slightly over bumps now as both my clips are broken, altho this doesn't really affect my lights enough to cause concern
  4. firstly i'd take the lamp off, empty out any liquid if possible, and stick it in the oven for about 15 mins on 120 degrees, then take it out and squeeze it together all around the edges, re- fit it, then drive with your headlights on with the sidelight unplugged from the lamp so the air is circulating, once all the condensation has gone, stick the sidelight back in and see how you get on, total cost £0 if that fails then get a new lamp, but it worked for me
  5. helps if you still have record from the first time the work was carried out
  6. if I wrote mine off, regardless of value or figures declared or actually paid for the car, i'd simply expect to be able to replace it with the same model/spec, without any further cost (apart from the obvious excess, increase for future premiums if i was at fault)
  7. revs higher before gear changes
  8. you ask for no silly offers, but don't say what you would consider to be a silly offer, or infact a reasonable one......?
  9. get the current owner to tax it first, then theres no issues at all
  10. local lexus dealer, they aren't as expensive as you might think ;)
  11. "it needs a little work doing to it to get it back to its former glory" is a fairly large under statement remove what can only be descrived as a shelf off the front, and then remove most of the front panels and replace with ones from models with rear end damage, and remove and replace most of the rear panels with those from a car with front end damage, I could go on....
  12. also I may be correct in thinking there may be only one hole and one clip on one corner of the driver's side mat instead of 2
  13. both NEEEED to have receipts for cambelt change (possibly water pump) otherwise stay away at that price, I know those prices are a lot of car for the money. but thats the way they are at the moment, both sellers are poor advertisers, second one isn't making enough effort to sell, first one contradicts their own description, electric everything all works fine.... cd changer packed up, and bodywork outstanding condition, but not perfect....?
  14. apparently they aren't bad at all for paint match, altho I imagine its less noticable with black ones, however they do incur customs charges, so be aware of this before buying

    V5 Problems

is the chassis number on any of the MOT certs correct? when I got my V5 back after a plate change it had the wrong reg on, I just went to my local DVLA office (trafford) and took as much correct info as I could, and they just did me a new v5 on the spot, no faffing at all I know theres numerous errors on yours, but if the MOT cert details are correct i'd just go into your local dvla office like I did, unless of course you have had the car for years in which case I suspect the MOT details will also be incorrect matching the V5 How much older paperwork do you have?
  16. welcome my brother has a black Bora 1.6, his mods go as far as a centre arm rest, newer rear lights, Audi TT comp alloys and a Jetta badge on the back, and when it rains he can't open his passenger window cos it won't shut, lol
  17. for somethin like that i'd probably just go to the dealers rather than bother lookin around, they won't be too expensive
  18. definitely no folding rear seats on the saloon, loads of traders don't check first
  19. works both ways, there are sensible and not so sensible bikers the same with car drivers, as far as i'm concerned an inconsiderate motorist is an inconsiderate motorist, doesn't matter how many wheels they have underneath them, I pretty much keep my distance from everyone else on the road these days as for a passenger watching a dvd in the car, get a portable unit for £50 ish
  20. I used the tape on my front corner spats :D
  21. I used VHB Gel tape as opposed to foam, just as cheap, quite strong
