  1. Who on here is a postal worker that can be blamed? Ryo? It's your fault! Sorry to hear about it Chris, must be really annoying.
  2. I always had a soft spot for the Puma too. Same with the Cougar.
  3. I know Matthew and I know what you mean. I still to this day get letters from Toyota (next door to Lexus W-ton) about my Celica needing a service (despite me telling them about 4 times I've not got it any more - and they are the ones that sold it after I had it!!!). I do agree there are some muppets out there.
  4. Screw up some newspaper and then give it a good rub on the headlight - dry. Brings it up very nicely.
  5. iceman 67 - pm sent Ok, now time for a moan. Was supposed to be collecting my shiny new toy today this evening, but I got a call from Volvo this evening saying that the V5 hadn't arrived and they can't tax it without it. They said they'd forgotten to order the V5 from London - which is apparently where they're all held. I can't be doing with incompetence like that - you sell a car, you need the V5. Still, at least they were honest. As compensation they've said I can keep the tax disc in my old car (worth about £80) as it was originally part of the deal and I can collect it anytime from tues - I'll have to go wednesday cos I'm working on tues. They did offer to bring it to me but part of the fun is collecting it. So I'm angry and p****d off but c'est la vie.
  6. Well, drove over to Nottingham today to finalise everything - taken insurance stuff so car can be taxed. Bit gutted I can't take anything out of it as they said it's all part of the contract - even the tax disc grrr!! Emptied her out - a bit heart wrenching - she's just sitting on the drive ready for the last trip tomorrow.
  7. In no particular order... 1. Homer Simpson - the guy's amazing! 2. Rowan Atkinson - for being the only actor in history to tell the truth during an interview. Rather than the usual 'I've always wanted to work with this director and we had an amazing time' load of nonsense he said 'Look, I hated the movie, hated the script, only did it for my paycheck'. That's honesty. 3. My dad - for always bein there for me, raising me properly and never giving up.
  8. Best advice is to give it say a 3 month trial - after that crunch the numbers, if you're getting significant gains either in performance or economy then the results should speak for themselves. I got slightly better MPG when I tried it but not enough to make it pay for the extra cost of the fuel. I didn't really notice any performance difference though.
  9. Yes. I have Bosch Aerotwins. They do fit. Go to www.wiperblades.co.uk. I paid £27 for mine and can honestly say they've been brilliant. No they don't need any modification and I disagree they're no better than standard. I bought mine last August and I can say hand on heart they're every bit as good 13 months on as they were new.
  10. Suzuki Swift - the 4WD one - great fun to drive
  11. Because it's not just a non-OEM filter, in theory it's a high-performance air filter (it says something along those lines on the box). After an accident, if an inspector checked the car and noticed it (e.g. it was hanging out due to damage), then in theory he could say it was a non-declared performance modification (had I not told them) and then the insurance would be invalidated. The fact that when I told my insurance company they charged me for it showed that I was "right", i.e. if they had found out later then I could have been in a lot of trouble. Better safe than sorry. Won't be long before you have to ring your insurance company up to tell them you use Shell Optimax instead of regular unleaded! Just because your insurance company charges you doesn't necessarily mean they're right - just means they're ripping you off!!! I see where you're coming from though.
  12. And then when you have an accident, the insurance company finds out you that have an undeclared modification, and invalidates your insurance, leaving you with a very large bill And a visit from the Police. crazy-dee - that's a very irresponsible thing to say on a forum.
  13. When I was looking for my car, I came across this little beauty. Volvo S60
  14. i almost mis-read that as GTO engine! A Buy it Now of £4000??????? Is he having a giraffe? When all is said and done it's a P reg Colt. No amount of fancy bodywork detracts from the fact it's an 11 year old car with an 11 year old engine.
  15. Your welcome as allways Keith, even in your Volvo mate :D Hehe. Cheers Chris :)
  16. I'm with Raj. Although I'm not an expert by any means in such matters, I know enough to say that trying to force more power out of the IS200 engine without heavy financial and mechanical work. You could change spark plugs - the Denso IK20's (I think - can anyone confirm they are the right ones please) are supposed to be good. Panel filter won't do anything noticable but I'll leave the induction kit and exhaust to someone who knows more about them. Some of the people on here have hugely modified cars with TC's and SC's but they are expensive (£4000+ for SC and £7000+ for TC) Keith If you do want an extra few BHP - putting an LOC sticker in the rear window gives you about 20 more horses :)
  17. Happy birthday Chris. Have a great day. Keith
  18. I'm up for the 5th - as long as you don't mind my Volvo there? lol
  19. It's like Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon - just fatter and slower lol!
  20. I've just found the Volvo Owners club website. Take a look..... Volvo Owners Club
  21. I just traded my 05 in - £5100 best offer. Horrifying.
  22. It's ok though, my therapist says I'll get over it. Just takes time.
