  1. I'm a professional photographer that's worked with aspiring models before. The most important thing is a portfolio. Get some great shots and a variety of styles and stick them together in a professional looking portfolio. You can then use this to approach modelling agencies and so on. First of all get a professional looking and diverse portfolio, and secondly get networking. Put those two together and they're a winning combination. I'm happy to help out in any way I can. PM me if I can be any help.
  2. I watched it last time and was still oblivious to what it was. I never realised adrenaline was brown lol!
  3. I had sleepless nights just thinking about it
  4. Yeah it was. It's an IS300 with a 'sports casual' interior
  5. Duh!! Of course. How could I have forgotten about him!
  6. That my driving style has more in common with an undertaker than a normal person lol!!!
  7. If you could have only got a few hundred more I think you're right to just p/ex as the lack of hassle is worth that much :) But that is quite a serious drop in value, that's an awful lot of car for that money! Let us know what it's like when you get it, I'm sure it'll be more of a "relaxed" drive than the IS.......... I've always said that a car is only worth what someone will pay for it. Therefore my IS may be worth more than the measly amount I got for it but it could sit on my drive for the next year or so if no one will pay what it's worth. It's a bummer but c'est la vie! You're right, it's a phenomenal amount of car for the money! No one in their right mind would buy one new. Hehe, relaxed drive. Just the way I like it. Sinking back into soft leather and turning up Terry Wogan. Perfect lol
  8. So u do this do u u seem 2 know 2 much lol Umm......... err......... APPARENTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Joanna Lumley used to (maybe still does) drive an RX.
  10. Yes and no. Yes I am part 'exing it and no I didn't get a good price for it!!! £5100 which is rubbish but then it is an 05/05 base model with 4 previous owners and a few scuffs here and there. I could have got a few hundred pounds extra but I'm sick of trying and failing to sell privately. Also, What Car reckons that the S80 2.4D SE on an 07 plate should be £14025 at a dealer. Mine has the following additional options extra: electric sunroof, full leather, winter pack, upgraded premium stereo, heated seats metallic paint etc. With all the optional extras at the main dealer I paid £13331 for it which I think is exceptional value for money. All together it cost £32000 new and it's 14 months old and has lost £19000!!! Ps if anyone else is thinking of it, there's loads of these S80's around for around the £12800 mark for a 56 plate. So no, I didn't get a good price for my IS but I made up for it with a good price on the S80.
  11. Pics here - will get better ones when it comes.
  12. A car expresses your personality - nothing wrong with that. If you (the general 'you') enjoy modofying your car then why not spend money on it. Its a labour of love! Just because one person doesn't do it doesn't mean anyone else can't.
  13. It's what important to you though. I've never been a car modifier, but I can see why people do it. I don't know whether I agree that selling modded cars is a good market - the whole idea of modifying is to get a car exactly how YOU want it and the chances of the next person liking what you like are small. Maybe I'm wrong? To me, if I see a car that has been modified for sale in a dealer, even if I wanted it I'd avoid like the plague because it does scream that it's been driven hard. May not always be true but that's first impressions for you.
  14. Have you tried waxing? Put it on, let it harden and then just give it a good sharp tug. Hurts like buggery but smooth results and no monobrow! You are talking about those kind of eyebrows right?!
  15. Well, I've just traded my 2005 IS in ('S' model 4 owners) and I've got £5100. Makes me absolutely sick but of all the part ex quotes I got recently, that's pretty much par for the course. Cost me £12300 18 months ago which means a whopping £7200 in depreciation. Horrifying, but to be honest, I'd rather suffer the loss of £500 or so to a) stop worrying about it and B) to stop the hassle of trying to sell privately and getting nowhere fast. I know I could have got more for it privately, but I got such a good deal on my new car I just wanted things to be easy - that's worth a few hundred quid!
  16. Well chaps and chapesses, the day has finally come to get rid of my Lexus and move onto a new car. I have just ordered a nice shiny 2007 Volvo S80 2.4D SE from the main dealer in Nottingham. As most of you know, the Volvo will suit me down to the ground!!! It has a hell of a lot more toys on it than my car and it's very smooth and quiet - perfect! My 18 months of Lexus ownership has been great fun, I've enjoyed plenty of banter on here and it will be tough to empty my car out on thursday. I'm picking my S80 up on Friday, I will put up pics. I will stick around on here if no one minds a Volvo driver lol Back soon. Keith :)
  17. Modified lexus or just normal new car news ect.?? Not a modified one , just a brand magazine.
  18. There is a Lexus magazine. I get one 4 times per year
  19. The current state of the economy is hitting everyone quite hard. However, I really don't see how you can want to get rid of it after only 1 month. The figures have been around for quite some time as to the potential fuel and tax hikes. If you're that bothered about it, maybe a Lexus wasn't the best choice but everyone's entitled to a mistake. If you can sell it and recoup most of your purchase cost then fine, however, even if you sold it for £200 less than you paid for it (which I would say would be very optimistic) then you've already lost out. Just accept one way or another you're going to lose money, the question is how much and how quickly. At the end of the day, a £200 tax hike pales into insignifiance with depreciation.
  20. I see your point Rob, but I see science as an art - maybe I'm way off base here, but perhaps people don't want to know how the universe was created. I'm not a religious person in the slightest (I'm quite nauseated by it most of the time!), but a bunch of scientists proving that God did not create the universe could turn the whole world of religion upside down. I am totally fascinated by the experiment, but I can't help thinking some things are best left alone and let people draw their own conclusions from theories and hypotheses. Do we actually WANT answers to this question? Just a point to ponder.
  21. I agree that in most cases DIY is the best and cheapest, but you have to buy all the stuff, get a day when it's not raining, take hours to do it properly, listen to the nagging from the other half, put up with the irritating 'you can do mine if you want' comments from the neighbours and so on. Added to which a professional really knows what they're doing and in most (not all) cases they'll get it better than you or I can - provided of course you're prepared to pay. I'd say £200+ for the full works. Worth it I think.
  22. I'd always recommend headlight adjustment being done professionally on one of those laser beam thingies. I had mine done by my local Lexus dealer - just popped in there on my way home one night and they did it for me there and then for free.
  23. Good job. Nice to know there's someone looking out for you.
  24. Hehe, I love workplace pranks. You could have taped his chair up and written 'a**hole' on the seat - works on so many levels lol
