  1. hmmm whole roasted kid with cranberry jelly i could never eat a whole one Just like chicken just not so many tiny little bones. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm... chicken! I may be up for it depending on date and location. Vote for midlands/MK. Please can I park my S80 next to the Audi and Fiesta????
  2. Just take care when resealing them or you'll end up with a big problem!
  3. That's a very simple idea but also very ingenious - if it works. I'm skeptical, but if it works, bravo!
  4. Haha, it shouldn't happen full stop if you know what you're doing. Unfortunately at that particular time, I didn't lol :iraqi-info-minister: Yay, my 2000th post!
  5. I hated Vista when it came out but I've now come to like it. PC World Customer service is notoriously shocking. They're stock answer to everything is reinstall windows.
  6. I'd strategically place bits of the engine around the house - just to make sure she never forgets.
  7. Thing I love about car insurance is the supposed no claims discount. What exactly are they on about when they say it's a 70% discount after x amount of years? 70% of what figure? One they just make up and you never get to know what it is? Do they have some ape sitting in a back room just randomly hitting the keyboard and your quote is whatever he types? Also why is there such a huge difference between companies? My insurance was £3 something this year from esure (for the record who were very good when my dad made a claim on his insurance) and I was getting quotes as high as £2000 for exactly the same thing. Why?
  8. The secret is in preparation. If you just put the paint on without doing anything it won't last long, but degrease and sandpaper the calipers properly and apply a couple of coats of good quality paint (Hammerite smooth) you'll get a finish that lasts for ages. It's very easy to do and totally worth it. Just don't do what I did when i did mine last year and forget to apply the handbrake when you jack it up. One enormous crash later, the car is resting on it's brake disc trapping the jack underneath it. Not pretty!
  9. I'll put in a vote for the Micra. Plenty of choice, cheap, easy to drive and cost next to nothing to run with excellent reliability. They're also a bit of a giggle to drive too.
  10. I didn't know that - mine expires then in 2009. I look like a paedophile on my photo so I'd dearly love a new one!!!
  11. Hehe, like your thinking. It's always nice to have a little bit of sick time to spare. Not that captain sensible such as me would ever endorse ringing in sick when not actually sick nor do it myself
  12. Doesn't that ring alarm bells? ex Lancia owner here.. if you want a weekend blast go for it. Also being a neighbour he's unlikely to offer you a duffer is he Maybe not knowingly but on a car (and manufacturer) that does have such a horrendous reputation for reliability who knows. I'm with you totally - if it's used as a weekend car I'd go for it 110% but as an everyday car? Maybe another story.
  13. I've always advocated never skimping on tyres. The difference between a full set of budget wellies and a good set may be £200 or £300 but that is a tiny price to pay when you're sliding towards that tree because you bought the wellies.
  14. Ok, I'll admit, I absolutely love the Aygo's. I've so nearly bought one twice - just for fun. The ting I love about them is this. When I was 17, it simply didn't matter about what gadgets my car had - leather seats, ESP, EBL and so on. What mattered was it was my car and I loved it. Over the past 10 years, I've changed - I now look for all the acronyms before buying a car - none of which I actually understand. The great thing about the Aygo, is when you drive it, it takes you back to being 17 again - it just doesn't matter what it's got (or hasn't got is probably more appropriate!) because it's just a huge giggle and every time I've driven one I've got out with a massive smile on my face - something that no Lexus, Jaguar or Volvo has ever/will ever give me. You'll be thrilled with it.
  15. In my opinion, extended warranties are no different to the lottery - it's just a gamble. You may spend £x amount on a warranty and never use it and think what a waste of money it was or you might buy it and then the next week the engine falls out of the car and the warranty sorts it all out for you. If you buy it you may never use it, if you don't you may regret it. Simple as that. Ask yourself the question - is it better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it?
  16. You get blamed for this in the same way that every time I see someone I know and they have a problem with the NHS it's my fault because I work for it and therefore I must be expected to control everything about it so when the moaning old duffer has been kept waiting half an hour past his appointment time it's my fault even though I don't work at the same hospital lol
  17. I personally don't like the fully smoked ones. I think if you have an older IS with the crystal rear lights - buy some of the newer model satin ones - I think they look nicer. Although opinion is divided on the subject.
  18. If I may be so bold it does look a LOT better without them.
  19. I think the most romantic way to propose is to put it together as a business plan. If you put together figures for income (both gross and net), assets, expenditure and discuss your potential profit margin including benefits (cheaper car insurance for one) with a compare and contrast to the figures for you if you were single - pointing out how much more money you'd be better off by per annum and then present your figures to her on a powerpoint laptop presentation - you must have a laser pointer to highlight the important bits. I think she may just say yes..... Although for this to be guaranteed you have to include in your presentation how you can write the ring and wedding off against tax.
  20. A comedy hypnotist? Look into my eyes, the eyes. Don't look around the eyes don't look around the eyes look into my eyes - you're under.
  21. I've had mail delivered that's clearly been opened before - also had packages go missing. The Royal mail employs thousands of people - only takes a couple of dodgy ones (which I'm sure there are) in an otherwise respectable company to ruin its reputation.
