  1. No we did not blow Adies engine. The sub standard head gasket solution (two head gaskets and a non-conformable decompression plate) that was implemented by whoever built the engine, failed catastrophically. Upon inspection, other internal isses were discovered that would have significantly reduced the engine's life expectancy, even if the sub standard head gasket solution had prevailed. As with all situations where there may be a suspicion over the quality of our work, I recommended that Adie obtain an independant Engineers report. He did that, and I guess it's up to him whether he wants to share that with you but I can tell you that there was no fault found with our work. That's correct. The head gasket failure was the original symptom and cause of the failure. Upon engine strip down and inspection it was discovered that the piston skirts had seized in the bores and that there was a significant amount of dirt and debris inside the engine. Aparantly the engine had previously experienced a recent oil pump failure so I guess it is possible that the engine was not cleaned properly at the time of the build or subsequently after the oil pump failure (this is purely a logical speculation based on the discoverable evidence, and is no way intended to be pejoritive towards the engine builder). Of crucial significance is the fact that there was no damage to the piston crowns. If there was damage to the piston crowns this could have meant that our tuning proceedures were not correct and possibly the cause of the engine failure. A classic symptom of incorrectly calibrated fuel and/or ignition is what is known as "detonation marks". Detonation marks are demonstrated by clear and obvious severe erotion damage to the piston crowns and cylinder head. Adies pistons had no detonation damage whatsover as confirmed by the independant Engineer. The reason Adie had to change the pistons was due to the scuff marks left by the partial seizures, and not related in way shape or form to any tuning work that we had carried out. The head gasket failed during road testing, therefore no dyno data was being captured at that point. Chanjit was offered the hard copy of his calibration report. I am hopeful that you and your chums have a better understanding of the situation now, and now realise that you have been completely wrong for a long time which has resulted in a high degree of toxicity for LOC and TDI. I don't expect an apology, but I will request that you try to avoid jumping to conclusions in future. All you need to do is ask to find the correct answers. All the best :) The hard copy being some hand written notes.
  2. I think I should be making it there, if the car is running
  3. Wow, that pretty damn good. Do you still have the standard pistons and rods in the engine?
  4. That's f'd up. I feel like I have been down a similar road but not through as much bs as you. I feel for you mate, I think there are a lot of tuners out there that just shouldn't be allowed to work on peoples cars. I think its time they brought in some kind of nationally recognised standards or some sought of security for customers. I hope you get this sorted asap, I spoke to abbey about mapping my Fcon and they refused as they want to get yours done before taking on anything else.
  5. Mate, it could me much worse, I think you can save her

The Lex before it went wrong

    Mixed pics
  7. Good to hear you have it all up and running, bet you can't wait to test it out!
  8. thanks for the help guys
  9. What colour is that, it looks damn nice?
  10. Similar thing happened to me, sounds like he is trying to push the liability on to you. If hes has not accepted liability and you do not recieve something to this effect in writing from his insurer you deffo need to get your insurance company on the case IMO. You're lucky you were there I got left with a cracked front bumper and a fake number in my wiper!
  11. That sounds the nuts, I didn't know there was enough room!
  12. Does anyone know if a high flow cat for the sxe10 would fit on an is200?
  13. Now that is funny, I will have to take a look at that.
  14. hey Ellz where did you get the boss kit from?
  15. Sorry to hear the news mate. I had an engine blow, picked up a second hand one with under 30k mileage from Dewsbury auto salvage for £600. I would recommend viewing the engine first though to make sure it is all in good repair. Or you could always whack in a supra engine!
  16. I have not have an engineers report carried out due to the mounting costs and my priority was to get my car running. There still remain problems with my fuel gauge, engine management light, traction control light still flashing, car still does not start properly from cold. All these problems were present after the stage 1 conversion and none before.
  17. Im not sure what comp ratio the pistons were, weston are HKS power writers and they used a dyno dynamics rolling road the boost is runing at 0.5 bar not sure about the other things will have to check. I thought the loss of power was downto the lower compression pistons, the guys at thor said the compression ration was 9.1.1 but need to check, does that sound totally wrong? sounds right to me. so really the only thing that has happened is diff pistons and map ? what is the bhp/torque now ? Checked with Thor and the compression is currently 170 psi

  19. may sell the whole kit including pipes for the right price. Above also includes the ecu and airbox
  20. I'm not running the standard setup at all, 550cc injectors, stage 1 pulley, camcon and f-con v pro decat manifold bigger intercooler and im getting the same power you would expect from the standard tte setup! If anyone wants to buy a tte supercharger with cradle, intercooler and pulley please pm me as I am looking to get rid, I have only done about 3k miles on it. Pipework not included
  21. The compression ratio is now 9:1 previously 10:1, currently at 0.5 bar of boost
  22. glad its all sorted mate. those pics tell a sad, but ultimately resolved, story. what power is she putting out now matey?? Running at about 198 BHP!
