  1. They have a duty to repair - they are offering to do so at no cost to you and you have a right to reject NOW. Choose but you really are being overly suspicious.
  2. There have been no fewer than 8 threads concerning this since October 2010 several of which have been live in the last three months. That being the case a new post appearing gives rise to whether the poster is raising some new issue which would be useful (hence asking "And?") in relation to the subject or else merely duplicating which a simple 'search' would have avoided.
  3. And? there are one or two threads which have already covered this issue.
  4. Never heard of that one before and should not be something peculiar to a Lexus. Take the thing back to the supplying dealer and get him to fix it under warranty.
  5. (1) Bulb failure I presume: Without checking can't be certain though stting here I think that it is illuminated. (2) You'll get used to it. (3) Just the car - all cars are different and yours is thus. (4) I don't know but I cannot recall anyone reporting that they have gained in motion control of the Satnav this way. In any event the restriction is auseful safety feature to avoid drivers being distracted. Yes, I know people moan about this but I have never found it an issue. (5) Very well. my has been fine in Cumbria on standard tyres so just get on and use it. (6) Just normal driving. If you have a leaden foot you will use more petrol if otherwise you will be blessed with using less. The car manages use of battery and engine well.
  6. If only those levels could be achived in the UK. BUut, wait are US miles not shorter than ours?!!!
  7. Lidl and quality are not normally associated so these might be cheap and have a short live but whether they are better than decent quality items is difficult to call on this basis. Caveat emptor I would suggest.
  8. I would rather suspect that any car of this age is going to be prone to failure and there will be ever increasing numbers of such reports. Whether that condemns the car as worse than its peers is hard to say.
  9. I posted my findings on this at some length last year ( search : Tyres and geometry - money well spent). The RX will eat tyres unless properly set up. All mine needed was tracking to get well over 22,500 miles from the front tyres. Not bad in my opinion - especially when you see how much two tyres cost! Alan Agree Get the car set up by someone who knows what they are doing, watch for any signs of uneven wear (avid pot holes etc where practical) than have any deviation corrected promptly. 22,500 mils and more is quite easily attained.
  10. No, I think that it is a question of driving over pot holes etc (not in short supply) togther with humps, kerbs and any other obstructions. My RX400 has never given this problem but I now do watch cause and effect carefully.
  11. I had this problem with my RX300 - straightforward a question of setting the car up correctly. Nothing special to the RX just an ordinary problem you could have with any car. It did in fact cure the issue effectively.
  12. All or none - dangerous to mix if not illegal. But why does the RX450, assuming you are in the UK, need winter tyres?
  13. You asking some very odd questions. All RX300 sold for the UK market have accessories such as your describe that work in the British market and older examples are now cheap. Why bother with the Harrier, whatever that might try to be?
  14. Go to the parts department of a Lexus dealership (assuming Lexus owners actually buy parts t fit themselves) and find out. Parts departments normally have 'exploded' diagrammatic views of such assemblies.
  15. I am not aware that anyone here has reported that their batteries have been replaced - try searching - so no answer is possible. However I doubt it is a major worry and Lexus may well be prevailed upon after the notional warranty expires. For costs ask a Lexus dealer.
  16. It is difficult to contribute anything as it concerns your personal finances but moving to an RX400, if your capital situation would allow, will address fuel consumption and road tax. That may well still be out of your range though.
  17. What does your Lexus dealer say or have you not asked?
  18. Sounds like bad luck or more likely an eight year old car. You do not say where you are so no help on alternative repairers possible.
  19. You bought a second hand car of a type you do not know simply by looking at it? Amazing if rather more than stupid. Equally I do not recognise this as an RX. I have owned an RX300 (air) and now an RX400 (coil) as well as driven demos and courtesy examples. I simply do not recognise what you describe and wonder if you are trolling or have some other agenda.
