  1. Yes, the RX400 also has the engine brake which the RX300/350 lack and which is an extremely useful feature.
  2. So different territories different ways of measuring as well. I was not suggesting homologating for each country but nonetheless the USA is rather more than a country in the manner you simply because of size. What effects can the likes of California with its air quality demands have compared with say UK or even Japan?
  3. Dealers will know as will most shops such as Halfords who sell spurious spares.
  4. Why ever not? Different territories, different times, different set ups in the engine management and fuel injection.
  5. Other than I am surprised that the RX300s are better than the RX400, I have found the reverse.
  6. I have to confess I did not look there - an unusual location presumably for dynamics/wind flow. Thanks
  7. Hi Duncan, Where did you get that one from? The RX450h does have rear wash/wipe What 450h have you got? I think you should take it back and get a refund? I was actually looking at one in a Lexus showroom. However this is not listed in the present brochure and looking at the photographs on the web site it cannot be seen, certainly not at the bottom. Is it at the top (on yours) or has there been a spec. change? Take a look at this web site picture http://www.lexus.co.uk/car-models/rx/rx-450h/index.tmex?ac=C3257&mc=SEM&WT.adsite=Google&WT.srch=1&ac&mc&WT.srch_ms=mkwid_sHxRaCBr5_pcrid_17059796474_plid__kword_lexus%20rx450h_match_e&gclid=CJbIkqDZ07MCFSHHtAodBi8Anw there is no obvious sign of one on this version.
  8. You have camera so why are sensors needed as well? However if they are fitted and don't work why ever do you not take it back to the supplying dealer? Range indicators are simply toys but not essential. Have not missed it and surely it is just one of those things you should have spotted before purchase if it matters to you?
  9. The RX450 also lacks rear wash/wipe although it would be interesting to know if it is needed. It certainly is on the RX400.
  10. Use search function. This subject has been done to death here and is now quite boring.
  11. My experience suggest that cheap petrol can give you worse consumption than that of the major brands. I first found it in my first RX300 (improved from 16 to 20mpg) with BP petrol, and my current RX400 performs less well on cheap petrol. Curiously 97 RON petrol offers little benefit as a trial demonstrated.
  12. A 59-plate is within warranty return it to the supplying dealer; Not an issue for home solutions.
  13. We are indeed going to disagree: You are putting your confidence where it does not belong. This is merely another example of Eurocrats sticking their noses in where they do not belong to no useful outcome other than prevent alleged lies being put forward to describe performance. We have the ASA which is perfectly capable of dealing with this type of issue.
  14. You choose to miss one key point. ALL manufacturers are obliged in law to quote these figures in the showroom, in advertisements etc. Just as you are electing to compare one set with another you have theirs. They will quote them prominently because all manufacturers do but I would not say that any use I have seen is misleading or designed to confuse. You have not been misled you have merely used the figures wrongly to inform your decision to buy; that your wife achieves such low returns is more connected with driving style and use than the car's capability.
  15. The figures are produced in a manner required by the EU and must be published in that form: they do not amount to claims buy the manufacturer. The manufacturer has no choice in the manner in which they are carried and the results can be odd. Lexus has neither misled you nor deceived you. No one should be fooled by them and all cars have published results achieved on the same basis. For 'real' consumption go the the likes of Honest John who has a column in the Daily Telegraph and a decent web site.
  16. Any a third time of posting? Suggest delete the duplicates.
  17. This appears to be the same as that you have posted in another thread?
  18. What are "passenger tyres", hardly a common term Lowering the speed rating would be illegal, your car should fail to MoT test and your insurer would deem it a modification and could deem your car uninsured. Speed ratings are matched to the capability of the car not your use of it and cannot be changed upon an owner's whim.
  19. No it does not - strangely this came up three months ago hy someone who thought his life would bge impossible without..
  20. Have you put anything heavy on the seats which might fool the sensor into believing someone to be sat on one without wearing the seat belt?
