  1. About three threads away: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/83969-lexus-rx400h-recall/
  2. One was a mark 2 RX300 I bought new in 2005 which I replaced in late 2008 with a new RX400h. So yes, at least the same shape. Regrettably/Fortunately having not experienced the problem in 8 years I cannot sympathise from experience and certainly would not change the set up. Yes I do drive it in the dark, without street or other lights.
  3. I have had Mark 2 RXs now for 8 years and have experienced no problems in reversing at night with the lights.
  4. You might be better trying the American Forum given that it is an American model not European.
  5. No on RX300 and RX400. I do not recall seeing anything here about such an apparent fault. Is 2010 not too late for an RX350, I though the Mark 2 shape ended in 2009, petrol version possibly earlier? If there is metal in the differential unit that does not bode well it must be said. When did you buy the car, new or second hand?
  6. Do you have a service contract with said dealer - that may well be I the difference in that for established customers they will set lower prices.
  7. Can't say I have experienced a problem in wet or dry with Bridgestone, fine all-weather tyre,
  8. If you like what you have stick with them,. I have used Bridgestone Potenza on my two RXs and they are fine - good ride and comfortable.
  9. I paid a Lexus dealer well under £100 last year for a complete new key.
  10. Not really, staggering the demand for parts makes considerable sense if it is not urgent.
  11. OK - fair point Duncan. I guess what I was really asking is 'Has anyone else with an RX fitted XL tyres and if so have they noticed any problems with the ride?' Thanks Mike They discuss ride as well.
  12. It's possible but try Google - there appears to be a great deal on the subject but you can do the research!
  13. Recall letters usually go to the registered keeper and are heralded on the Lexus web site. Treat with suspicion until either happens.
  14. The points must be a salutary reminder for those that neglect to observe it!
  15. Follow the hand book surely. the circumstances make no difference and the national speed limit still applies.
  16. How does the car derive access to the GPS signal to work out its position?
  17. Not how the Safety Taliban works. They are concerned solely with one link and not the chain.
  18. It is actually noticeable how the balance of this board has swung from original owners who tend to use Lexus for service as you say "I appreciate many people who drive Lexus are quite well off" both because the vehicles are new and within warranty and because their budgets are less constrained. Now the cars are older second and third owners with different views on self repair and non-Dealer service are coming to the fore. Having had all three of my Lexus cars from new (one IS, an RX300 and an RX400) I would still stay with the dealer even at five years old because I am more comfortable with the work they do. The reliability is such that cost is not an issue not likely to be.
  19. The thought that went through my mind was the cause of the problems seems to be lack of use if the mileage is indeed correct. I had an RX300 from new to about 70,000 and now an RX400 also from new to just over 75,000 both without these problems. They were both half the age.
  20. I'm afraid that it is a ten year old car. Why did you have the timing belt changed at such a low mileage. If 61k is correct for a ten year old car, then the low mileage suggests lack of use hence sticking parts. The pads are normal consumables, the rest suggests something is inherently amiss with this specific car.
  21. Then factor in the higher price of the higher octane liquid and you do not benefit by switching.
