  1. Great deal, do you know if they will fit a MK1 GS300?
  2. Was it the wipers fault or an uncle that couldn't fit wiper blades? I've had the "cheap" flat blades running at higher speeds and no dettachment or hint of it so far. Having said that, If I'd realised bosch did them I would most likely have spent the extra on them. Although the last set of standard aero blade bosch ones I had were pish and stopped working properly after a few weeks. Swings and roundabouts I guess.
  3. I would be interested in that too. Every one I have found so far has been for left hand drive vehicles.
  4. Tiger, thanks for coming back to me, any idea who refurbed the wheels, i have no idea why they weren't able to do the centre caps, but have you heard of being able to get replacement ones at all??? Thanks for the part number i will get onto that tomorrow. Regards Kev I can check the receipts I have when I get home at the weekend. I have seen the receipt for the garage that the car had all its work carried out at but no idea if they actually did the refurb. Anyway, I will take a look and let you know, they were in Stoke on Trent somewhere. As far as replacements go, I imagine Lexus would sell them as I think the wheels are still available through Lexus. At least they were when I was trying to get wheel nuts for mine 'cos I saw the part number on the diagram he showed me. Oddly enough, I couldn't get wheel nuts to fit, they only have one nut listed for all Lexus, and they didn't fit the darn sport wheels!!!
  5. Some of the questions asked on the listing are pretty good
  6. Sounds like a good plan ( boring out a little ).... can you recommend a service provider who could be trusted to do it right? Or are you saying that It may be able to be done without any machine work on the wheels? Yes, I am saying that you may be able to do it with a set of centering rings and a set of offset bolts. I would seek the advice of a wheel specialist first though as I have never used either on any car myself.
  7. Any reason why they didn't/couldn't do the centre caps? My Sport wheels had been refurbed by the previous owner including the centres. I believe this is the part number for a single bolt and key set from Lexus PZ439-10671-2P (you would need 4 kits to do all wheels)
  8. Does anybody ever have any problems with these if it has been raining and your shoes are wet? I've thought about these myself but it concerns me that they could be a tad slippery.
  9. Just done a wee bit of digging around and apparently there are what are called offset bolts which can be fitted to overcome PCD differences of a couple of mm's. No idea if they would be suitable for this specific application but I can't see why not.
  10. As the bore is bigger on the merc wheels I assume a set of hub centering rings would fix that problem. The PCD is the bigger problem, which is the diameter of the circle that crosses the wheel stud/bolt centres. I would guess machine work to the wheel would be required to match those up, or custom hubs for them to sit on.
  11. Check this link to see what is the same and what isn't between different models. You might be able to get round some differences, which they presumably did with the one pictured. Must admit, the wheels do look darn good. http://www.carlsalter.com/wheel_fitments.html
  12. Congrats on the new buy. I'm sure you will love it. On the fuel economy, I get average of 24-25 for combined, and 30 for a long run. Not bad for the type of car. Are we talking about the Sport wheels? Not sure about a hex shaped key unless the lock nuts have been changed on yours or on mine. On mine they have three little pegs on the key. I believe a kit is available from Lexus to replace them, oddly it seems the kit is for one lock bolt and one key I would've thought 4 bolts with a key (plus maybe a spare key) would've made more sense. Edit: I think the key kit number from Lexus is PZ439-10671-2P
  13. Could also be a dent in the rim, worth checking, especially on the inside edge of the wheel which is not normally visible. Sounds like it is at the rear end whatever it is, if the car rather than the steering is shaking.
  14. I assume he means the same type I mentioned further up Like these http://search.ebay.co.uk/search/search.dll...at+wiper+blades On the car they look really good, sitting right down under the bonnet line compared to the standard frame types that still stick up a bit.
  15. I think it said the AM and CD buttons on mine, although I didn't have to do that bit to get mine out. For information, the masts I had delivered from the states (from ebay.com rather than ebay.co.uk) came in seven days.
  16. I agree, what a waste of a cool car. He doesn't fancy selling or swapping it does he? I have a high miler 325 Coupe he could banger race instead
  17. I'm trying out some of the flat beam wiper blades at the moment on my GS, as the last set of Bosch ones I bought started chattering and jumping after only a few weeks. Seem good so far just need to see how they are in a few weeks.
  18. This diagram tends to make it look like they unclip/lever out http://beta.lexus-parts.com/assembly.asp?i...07&year=162
  19. That wouldn't get to the number plate lamps though. On the MK1 GS they are levered out from the bumper to change the bulb. Maybe the IS ones work the same, large flat bladed screwdriver to unclip them.
  20. Does everything else about the alarm/imobiliser system work correctly when you are out of the car and locking it up?
  21. Come on mate, bust the myth and tell us the brand, size and price of the tyres :winky:
  22. Didn't find any free ones for my GS300 but I did find a place in the states where they were a $15 (about £7.50) download. Check out this link http://www.softwaredesignz.com/index.php?categoryID=65
  23. Wouldn't the SC make no difference to the speed you can reach in 1st gear? If no other mods like rev limit have been done, then it would purely be the gear ratio that dictate it, so any IS should be able to do the same speed?
