  1. Im thinking of getting one of these too, hopefully will be fitting my kit in the next two weeks :) My only concern is where to connect the cables from the HKS to as it has no pin numbers?? Is there a diagram of the EXCU with what the numbers are allocated to?? Tom.
  2. Had mine about 8 months and shes the best car ive had so far and not looking to change her anytime soon. I do get called a grandad in her but to be honest its by people who are driving fiesta's clio's and saxo's :D Tom.
  3. Cheers for the diagram Stav. By the middle plug do you meam the Green cable to the RPM? Whats the best way to connect this to your ECU and do you have any pics? Cheers Tom.
  4. Well i got the kit and other bits today! :D really happy. Maz had it all layed out ready for me to look at and check was all there and happy to say it was! Might have a go at fitting it myself, but am a bit concerned about the ECU in how to attach the blackbox and what bits i attach it to??? Do any of you have any wiring diagrams as the one i have is a bit unclear on where it attaches to? Thanks Tom.
  5. That would be appreciated thanks! The drivers side now has scratches on both doors. The drivers door has a scratch which has been badly filled in, the rear door now has a scratch thanks to the careless work colleague today :( Depending on where the scratches are eg top / bottom of the door just get that part of the pannel blown in. After buying my lex from Lexus Southend i noticed they must have damages it because they got a smart repairer to do a "spray can" blow in on the bottom of my drivers door! :tsktsk: So i got the place i work at to just re-spray the bottom of the drivers and passengers doors and blend it in! cant tell it was ever done! But Plat ice or most solver cars are a nightmare to blend in or even colour match!! Tom.
  6. Not the whole cradle AFAIK just the little metal bar that goes to the fire wall from the Cradle, i never fitted mine and i've had no problems. Hope all that helps Stav Cheers for all the info Stav deff a help, and makes me want a induction kit now you said it will sound louder :) love the sound of superchargers :D Yeh is a shame you are so far away as i dont really want to book it in to anywhere near me as its just too expensive and im not sure on how good of a job they might do :( or how my car will be treated in the process!! Tom. Tom.
  7. Only seem to have 4 out of the 5 Files so will ask him for the 5th one?? Not sure if there any help but no harm in putting them up :) page_1_5.pdf page2_5.pdf page3_5.pdf page_4_5.pdf Tom.
  8. Thankyou :) if anything is wrong im sure i'll get moey off ;) He e-maild me the full range of parts with numbers so i'll be having a good look at everything! Not sure if it will be any good to any1 but its a TTE parts list will post up in a bit incase its any help to you guys?? Tom.
  9. Cheers hope i will, but as my first post will need any help or advice :) As for a aristo vertex I do like the Prolex one on fleebay :D Tom.
  10. Well im 20 and currently 3 years no claims pay £1436 to insure it fully comp With the charger, intercooler, dumpvalve and pipe work declares i'll pay £1689 :o More than happy with that :D :D Tom.
  11. His original post after it getting fitted! Tom.
  12. Yes why? Do you know somthing i dont lol? Tom.
  13. Hi guys, ive had my Lexus IS200 SE since september and love it. Have been briefly looking into getting it supercharger as alot of you on here! (finally can get insured with one on the car) I just came across a guy selling his charger and all the bits with it off his car. He is selling, TTE Supercharger (covered roughly 8k miles) ECU extension (black box) Kazama back box De-cated manifold with modified heat shield Denso spark plugs Hks blow off valve Blue silicon hoses Clutch relocation kit Intercooler and all Brackets (bits and bobs) Full fitting instructions. So i was wondering a few things before i buy the kit, 1, What to look out for in regards to problems with the compressor unit? 2, What sort of problems might i have with the ECU extension black box, as ive read some have gone wrong? And what might be a good substitute or upgrade. 3, Will my car need to be re-mapped when the kit is fitted? 4, Is there anything worth buying / upgrading before i fit it on the car? (pulleys or belts ect??) 5, Instead of using the Clutch relocation kit which i believe you have to tap into a brake line to use and remove the clutch master cylinder due to the airbox, is it better to get an induction kit? 6, Anyone know any places local to the Essex area that will fit it? (im in colchester but will travel) Or anyone willing to help me fit it as im not all that mechanically inclined? will pay ;) Cheers for any help :D Tom.
  14. Depending on how good you are and what polish you use you can avoid getting swirl marks. Can also get them out easily with most swirl remover products and keeping your powermop on about 1500-2000rpm. Also i higly reccomend a Makita power mop. Not cheap but i use them at work 10hours a day pretty much non stop and had one for over a year ;) most other cheaper mops just bounce or stop on scratches! not what you want!! If your going to have a go i would reccomend getting a few pannels from a local scrappy first to practice on! doesnt matter if you mess them up :D Tom
  15. My only advise is get them done at a garage or someone who will be able to shopw you how good of a match they touchins will be, if someone comes to you in a van (fob them off) especially if there willing to spray any part of your car outdoors (Overspray anyone??). My experience is the paint is from somehere like halfrauds and there not verry good at matching paint to be honest! Any good company will be able to mix the paint up to a perfect match! They will also put a basecoat down, let it dry then paint then laquer, flat it down with wet and dry and power polish it back up! I do it at work and its not a 5 min job! (if done properly) Tom.
  16. Yeh ive just turned 20, mine was £1600 last year and is now £1378.25 fully comp with 3 years no claims and 200 excess. Not fussed really as i love my car, am fussed that i can mod her :(:( Tom.
  17. Tips on polishing! Make sure the car is dry and as dust free as possible! and never polish hot pannels or in direct sunlinght! If by hand! I usually just use a laytex polish as verry rarely should you need a cutting compound polish if not using a machine mop! (i use pour boys or colinite) 1, using a "damp" sponge apply polish to sponge and going with (the grain of the paint, sounds strange but if you were to polish a bonnet, i apply from top to bottom! so when you stand infront of the car you wouldnt see swirls!) if you apply a polish in a circular motion thats where you cvan get your swirls from ;) If using a cutting compund then you aplly in circular motion! (Im not one for Pannel by pannel polishing as i find how would leaving it on there for a long period of time dammage the paint?? i just cover the whole car!) 2, Allow polish to cure/ dry to a haze! 3, I use 2 different Microfibre cloths to rempove the polish from bodywork! Firstly make sure your cloths are dust free and get one of them wet! "Ring it out" to get as much water out of it as possible! 4, Starting where you first applied the polish in one hand have the "damp cloth" and the other your finishing cloth! start to remove the polish with the damp cloth and then bightly buff with the dry one to remove all of the polish and any residue left by the polish! do this over the whole car remembering to turn the cloth frequently to buff with a clean side! The reason i use a damp cloth first is when you just buff the polish off with one cloth, any heavy areas of polish usually turn dusty, his dust on your cloth or body work will actually scratch it again! (pain in the ***** on black cars!!) the damp cloth will hold onto any dust! If you have access to a power mop i usually use a sealent polish and apply it to the paintwork and work in with the mop on around 3000rpm! remember not to hold it on one place for too long or you can burn your paint! If not then just put a nice coat of wax on the car! i use Collinite waxes!! Tom.
  18. I first put a small amount of spray on detergent on to help loosen up fly meat and heavy dirt. I use a descailer to loosen up brake dust from rims and disks/ calipers! (not getting it on the paintwork!) Then pressure wash / rinse the car to remiove all of the loose dirt. I then use Megs gold class with a megs wash mit to shampoo the car down! Rinse the car thoroughly, making sure i get the sills and opening the doors and boot making sure to to do all of the shuts! I use a Microfibre drying towel and tissue to dry the car, my method is do all the windows first, i wipe the windows with the towel and then buff with SOFT white tissue! Then bodywork! pannel by pannel wipe with the towel, then wipe over with the tissue! This stops the dreaded water marks ;) (the tissue will also be a bit damp from doing the windows which stops it scratching the car! then wipe shuts and leave doors open! I put windows down about 20mm so i can spray the top edge with window cleaner and buff up with tissue! (looks bad when people dont do this) then windows up and finish them off. Then either polish the car or wax it! always making sure to do the door shuts aswell! I love washing and waxing my car, something good knowing you have the best looking car on your estate :) and it usually takes about 3hrs! Tom. I get alot of my stuff from (www.cleanyourcar.com) they also have a forum dedicated to people who just love cleaning there cars!
  19. A quick tip when touching up the Platinum ICE (1CO) or any light colour cars. 1. Use a bright white as a BASE , put a small amount of this in the chip first! (When you spray a car you use a white base coat alot of the time! this is whjy some touch-ups stand out and seem alot darker than ur paint!) 2. When dry then put a light coat of the paint on. (make sure it is a ligh coat or it can stick out above your paint work!) 3. use the laquer (sometimes proivided) to finish the job. 4. If you have the use of a power mop! you can also lightly 2000 wet and dry the painted chip area to flat it down a bit (with a bit of water for lubricant!) and then power polish it back up! I find the best match is found at your local Toyota dealer, and to go buy a small Artist brush, cut most of the bristles away (so your left with about 5-10) and then pour a small about of paint into a old bottle lid! this way you can control the amount of paint applied to the chip! Tom.
  20. Not good mate! i had a similar thing happen with my old Clio! just before i sold it :( I would write to them and see wot they say! Kick up a fuss about it and they mite get something done? Depending on the colour of your car and how bad the damage/ how many chips it could be expensive! A quick paint blow over might be easier and cheaper, or even a special paint/ Laquer with power polish like what we do at work can give amazing results! Not sure on how many places can do it though? Tom.
  21. I'm 19 and im looking to get a IS220D SE next saturday :) I already get called a grandad for having a IS200!! Tom.
  22. If in doubt..... give it a clout! I think the only thing to do is take it apart and get your CD's back and then get a working one off eGay or get an aftermarket one :D Im glad i took mine out before i got the dreaded Error3!! I'll put it back in wen i sell the car :) Tom.
  23. Left one, i have it and its really comfortable and doesnt get cold in the mornings :D is a really good colour match if you have a leather interior! Tom.
