  1. I honestly do appreciate the offer, Tigerfish and would do but I'm off to Tatton Park tomorrow (Sun) for the 'Classic and Performance Car Spectacular'. Meeting my ex wife and her new bloke there... what fun, lol
  2. Really? What are all those other tools for then? lol. Is there anything more to the rear ones that isn't shown in that walk through?
  3. It's blue. Apart from the fact that it's the Sport (I rarely see Sports around here) it doesn't really have any distinguishing features yet. You don't deserve your Lexus. As punishment you must hand it over to me immediately. LoC rules.... sort of. you are absolutely right give me your address and i will send it up if you could just let me have the £9000 for postage Hahaha. Well give me a couple of weeks then. I'll see if I can get the full £9k by selling my eldest kid on ebay. If not, I'll chuck the other one on as well :winky:

  5. How much & from where ? You can PM if you don't wanna post on the thread. No, I don't mind saying. I bought a Mintex box from an ebay seller named quality.car.parts for £89.99 + £12.95 p&p. Ive seen them cheaper on there but only the pads were Mintex and the disc manufacturer wasn't named (so almost certainly NOT Mintex). With these ones, all the parts were Mintex. I have a standard IS200 Sport so although I try to upgrade a little when I replace each part, there's no point me splashing out on any high performance stuff. As for the meets, I appreciate the offers and I'll have a look at the dates but I need to get them done pretty sharpish. Not sure there's any pads left now and they're wearing grooves into my discs!
  6. Yeah, saw that. Out of all those tools I think I have the screwdriver, haha
  7. Cheers mate, another one for my bookmarks :winky:
  8. Just ordered 2 rear brake discs and 4 rear pads and will need them fitting. I appreciate that prices vary from garage to garage but as a rough idea, how much would you expect to pay to get them fitted? Obviously I'm not going to bother going to Lexus for that.
  9. C : 1985 1.3 Vauxhall Astra in British hearing aid beige (cost me £200) F : 1989 1.3 Vauxhall Cavalier (big car, small engine.... hmmm) P : 1996 1.4 VW Golf (reliable... that's it) L : 1994 2.0 Honda Accord (£500 emergency buy, ABS faulty and overheated regularly) J : 1992 2.0 Audi 80 (very basic but fantastic car. only real problem was with the heater matrix) V : 1999 2.0 Lexus IS200 Sport I'll admit, there are a few niggles with the Lexus that annoy me, not least the clutch judder when setting off or the 'thud' when you drop it into 2nd but hardly surprisingly given the above list, it's by far my favourite so far. I've always thought it was a stunning car to look at and it really does feel good to roll through town in it. Not cheap to run but I knew that anyway so I'll just have to deal with it.
  10. I had this problem a while back and a friend was able to free it up and replace the seals etc but just out of interest, where COULD he have got a new calliper, other than the main dealer? I've read (and agreed with) many posts saying that you shouldn't buy a quality Lexus then expect parts to be dirt cheap but really, some of the prices they dream up are insane!
  11. Sorry to hear it mate, maybe you got a dodgy one :eerrrmm: When I finally get round to testing mine I'll let you know.
  12. Thanks Jackal, I won't bother ripping it out in a childish tantrum just yet then swfcdan, it was you that I messaged ages ago, check your PMs! lol
  13. haha, ebay can be lethal! I try to make a habit of avoiding it on pay day :winky:
  14. A couple of months back, I bought a GROM iPod adapter after reading that it worked even on the older stereos where the CD slot is at the bottom, like mine. I couldn't (and still can't) afford an iPod but wanted to spread the overall cost out a bit by buying and installing the adapter first. I THEN read that there is one OEM stereo that it won't work with, number 13902... MINE! I tried PMing the member who reported that but got no reply so as I still haven't managed to test the adapter and still have it installed, I just wanted to know if anyone else had experienced the same problem?
  15. How much?? ****, I need one of them! The one on my drivers side door is bowing out in the middle but at that price, I'll have a go at getting some glue behind it!
  16. Just swap em round, they'll last a bit yet.
  17. Seized callipers seem to be quite a common problem on here and that's what happened to mine. At first I experienced the same problems as you when braking but later it started to shake when I reached a certain speed, whether braking or accelerating.
  18. Oh for f.... even the main dealer can't get one before Wednesday :tsktsk:
  19. No answer to your question but congrats, I'd love to go to Tokyo one day!
  20. Thanks Adie, I deperately need to get back on the road now though so can't wait for the post. I've been PMing Mat for a few days to sort it out but now it looks like I'm going to have to go to the dealers and pay full whack
  21. Yeah I know Lexus is part of Toyota but that doesn't mean that I could take a coil from any Toyota and it would be right. I wondered if anyone knew WHICH Toyota models used the same part so I knew what to look for. Monster Mat offered to sell me one but he's gone quiet and I don't know how much he wants with p&p included or how to get payment to him and I NEED to get my car back on the road urgently
  22. I need one URGENTLY to get my IS200 Sport back on the road. Anyone know if the part is shared by any other model? Toyotas perhaps? Would just give me the option of visiting the breakers yard tomorrow.
  23. Thanks, I'd never have guessed that internet address in a million years
