  1. hmmm I cant decide now lol...how much did u get urs for if u dont mind me asking? Seems like u have the full kit..
  2. Doesnt look that bad actually on your car. Have u got any bigger pics? Whats the fit like of it?
  3. I can get hold of a JP Vizage front skirt for my car but am not 100% sure about it as I'm still leaning towards mainly the Trust/Greddy skirt or a TRD one but as these are a bit difficult to get hold of at a good price I thought maybe the JP one would be different. What does everyone think and should I get it or not? http://www.jpusaco.com/product_info.php?products_id=60 Theres more pics if u go to the gallery section of the site and look under lexus.
  4. Is there any checks that can be done to make sure our balljoints are ok?
  5. I got a spare wing in the garage in plat ice but it'll need some work done to it as the bit that blends into the a pillar is bent out a bit.
  6. where abouts in manchester are u mate? i could come and have a look at the car if u want...
  7. ur looking at roughly I'd say at least £1.5k to repair that mate. Labour alone will be the biggest hit but I can tell u that for a full front panel ur looking at £173inc VAT IIRC. For a bonnet, roughly £100-150 used. Wings, £50-£80 each used. Bumper, £70 used....As you can see thats only a few of the parts and the price is mounting up. Once u add spraying and then labour rates for jig work etc it'll be quite a lot. just out of interest tho mate, what year is ur car and what mileage has it done? the valuation u've been given seems quite low but I think it'll be easier and less hassle to just take the money and get a newer/better one. i know some people will probably think that what am i on about coz i got a light damaged car as a project then got it repaired but my one had stupidly low mileage and less damage than urs but also had a higher residual value so taking thinks like age mileage and residual value into account and especially as the insurance only valued urs at £3.5k I'd say take the money mate. Hope everything gets sorted one way or another tho.
  8. I fitted mine a couple of weeks ago and they look amazing!! Still gotta get some pics up so will sort them out soon.
  9. take my advice mate...dont buy it back as a cat D...its way too much hassle and will cost u a LOT of money to fix. considering it'll prbably defo need jig work with the chassis leg ends then u gotta get all the parts etc its gonna end up well expensive to fix. i'd rather just get the insurance to deal with everything whichever way they want. mines a cat d mate and was a project but took me a lot of time to sort so just my opinion. mine was worth it in the end tho ;) lol
  10. mine smokes a bit as well but only really when its cold. when it warms up its ok. its white smoke mine as tho its steam or something. is that normal?
  11. lmao!! the compressor costs £355 +vat from lexus bolton and if you give them your old compressor then you get £100 knocked off the price. That guys on a rip mode!
  12. lmao!!! bugs inside ur screen now thats original!
  13. now this in intersting. My car deadlocks the car on the second press of the fob but I've tried my alarm in the past by leaving the window open as well but it didnt lock. Mine is a 2002 52 plate car so as its slightly newer I thought that it would be using the newer system where the interior sensors needed to be switched off with the lock unlock technique. my alarm will go off if i open the car with the key tho....is there anything wrong??
  14. Most likely an electrical fault rather than your compressor... Clutch field winding resistance should be around 4 Ohms, check fuses, pressure switches too, if the system was working fine and now not then chances are it's something small. Give the pressure switch a gentle tap as they can stick open if the system has been depresurised for any lenght of time... Wheres the pressure switch mate? Even I thought that it couldnt possibly be the compressor failing on me especially with the car having so low mileage.
  15. fuse?? lol....i assumed all was ok fuse wise as when i press the ac button the light comes on lol. is there wiring going directly into the pump? wheres the fuse?
  16. looks really good redz. i really wanna fit a reversing camera to mine but dunno which one to get. the price u paid is quite resonable i think so would possibly be interested if u could get hold of more.
  17. I know that the clutch/compressor isnt engaging as I've had the aircon serviced but it still wont engage and there's no fluctuation in engine revs and no cold air out the vents so really dont think its working. how would i test it?
  18. is it difficult to change the aircon pump as I need a new one probably as it doesnt engage
  19. went to kwik fit earlier today and omg are they stupid! the guy didnt have a clue what he was on about and looked at me blanked faced when I asked him about pressure testing the system and oils etc. anyway, didnt get it done from there but went to another place and got the service done for £45 but unfortunatly I'm buggered as my compressor seems to have given up on me as it wont engage. When I got my car the air con worked fine even with the damage to the car but it had to be "drained" due to loads of the front being stripped during the repairs but I dont understand why it aint working now...can anyone shed some light on this maybe and where would I get a new compressor and is it an easy fix??
  20. I've got the NGK Iridiums in mine and cant complain one little bit with them. They're really good plugs and would use them again. Used to use bosch plugs in my civic and they were fine in that but as everyone else says, they dont go too well with the IS200
  21. do kwik fit also put the oil in the system during the recharge or just the gas?
  22. just the other day I was looking for tickets for his gigs after hearing more had been released. hope the media leave the family alone. RIP
  23. so would u say that it basically carries out the same tasks as listed in the full service page which I linked to mate?
  24. lexus bolton quoted me £79 recently for an air con recharge...hmm..
