I've had many Madaz's in my day(not a typo),and have always found them to be a good,solid motor.haven't had the opportunity to drive the 6,but would be keen on someone who has driven both to do a comparo from the driver's(not drawing board) perspective.

I have an Altezza......it's a Beams 6Cyl. Altezza's are available in either 4 or 6-we find the altezza 6cyl a more affordable option to the Lexus IS here in NZ! Regards, Gav.

I must confess,the new XR6 turbo is a nice machine-I've always preffered the Holdens but this new Ford is a beast! Not too familiar with release dates or specs for new IS's but you bring some valid points up,especially for those of us "down under". Will ask the fellow Australasian Lexus owners their thoughts also,or visit us at NZ L.O.Cto get our members feedback also. I also would be keen on knowing the release dates for the new IS in this part of the world-a visit to Mr Lexus Dealer tomorrow I feel...... Regards, Gav B)

I've tried it with blue wedge bulbs,but found them to shine with only the lightest tinge of blue(mainly white),also tried removing the orange bulb sleeves and replaced them with blue ones-again,not blue enough was the result. I think the only real option is the Led format that ukazn has managed. B)

Well that was fun!! Did my first ever decent open highway run from Auckland to Hamilton(NZ,around 300 km round trip)yesterday,and although I've done it before in my previous '98 as200 this car is a new ball game! Car is immaculate in respect to handling through low and high speed corners-the tuned factory suspension package has definately been well thought out.My previous car had a tendancy to "load up" the rear suspension when pushed harder than normal in tighter corners,resulting in a "pogo" effect-this car suffers minimal body roll whilst maintaining comfort and suffers NO adverse effects! Steering is suprisingly nuetral also.... Power delivery also is much different-it's music to the ear to hear this car pulling stronger the further into the rev range you venture-transmission caters pretty well,but am thinking the addition of a decent oil cooler may prolong life and (perhaps) add to the quality of the shifting under harder spells of driving. The Tyres I've placed(new Falcons) are up to the measure also,never once showing signs of the limits through the extensive back road section-well within tolerance levels for road noise also at highway speeds. All in all-I'm no Le-mans driver,but this car would inspire me to feel like I could push the boundries with a level of confidence NONE of my previous cars have been able to offer(and there's been some decent ones at that!) Stoked! Big thanks to 4rollin who took the time to meet up and have a quick chat-great to meet members outside of my town when I get the chance. Just as a comparison- (and only during a passing section) 125 KPH is only showing 3000 rpm... is this comparable with a standard car? Wondering if my transmission has been altered in any way.... Have to agree guys,although I've been riding myself since age 15 it only took a 70kph incident with a volvo 740 to cost me a shoulder(amoungst other things) and wipe off 3 1/2 years of my life to recover(and not fully at that!) I,ve slowed down somewhat since....tho there are the occasional track days.....time and place-and public thoroughfares are not one of them! (note) still not conned myself into the F4 vince!
