    Rear Shade

Ok just in case anyone is wondering what the solution was...WD40 helped ALOT, spray it and leave it overnight. Use LOADS!!! Worked a treat this morning :D
  3. Don't know if you lot have seen this but just came across it on www.supraforums.com. Here's a little snippet from www.supraforums.com Wonder if a transplant in a current generation Lexus would be possible

    Rear Shade

Hello, Just started the car up after approximately a month and wanted to check if everything was ok. When it came to the rear shade, when moving up it's whining and VERY SLOW and sometimes dies or just doesn't move at all. When putting it down, it seems to go down very quickly or one side (left side) sticks a bit then goes down. Tried a TON of WD40 on it, but to no avail. I'll give it another try in another 10 minutes or so to see if it has had any effect on it. Anyone know where I could maybe buy a replacement or get it repaired? Thanks, Mitul.
  5. Where can you get the replacement Yoshi?
  6. I was in the same boat as you a few months ago and found that the BenQ Writers although cheap, are the fastest and produce the least amount of "errors"/"jitter" on written media. The Plextor PX716 series of drives come in second, but they offered certain other features like: GigaRec - burn upto 900mb on a standard 700mb CD SecuRec - protect your burnt CD's/DVD's with a password VariRec - Change the "strength" of the laser being used to burn the media I'd definitely check out the BenQ DW1640 and the Plextor PX-716 though :). If you want more information on them read up on club.cdfreaks.com.
  7. Think you might want to read <<<<<THIS>>>>> It's supposedly hard and pretty hard to find replacements, since the fitment is different compared to the Supra?
  8. Yep, totally agree with Gaz. I bought Tempo's V300 which had about 105,000 miles plus, but had a compression check done on the engine and everything seems perfectly fine. Although I am looking on having a new fully built 3.4L Stroker engine brought in from the US hehe. As Gaz said though 120,000KM is not alot, in miles that's approximately 75,000. Just look to see if the Timing Belt has been changed @ 90k KM's, and well all the usual maintenance has been done on the car (regular oil change, with filter, etc). Also look for any white smoke coming from the exhaust when pushed hard to see if the Valve Stem Seals will need replacing although I doubt they will at that sort of mileage. Look for any water leaks in the boot. Also check that all electrics work perfectly and perform a kickdown etc. Apart from that read up on the buyers guide for Supra's on www.mkiv.com, that'll help you get started on what to see regarding the 2JZ-GTE :). A new engine would cost about $4000 from the US, but you'll also have shipping, tax, import duty, etc to pay on top of that, but this would be a brand new blueprinted block. If you need more information regarding a new engine etc then give me a PM I'll forward the details onto you :).
  9. Gaz, I would definitely be interested in delimiting my 155mph top speed. Keep us informed about how you get along :).
  10. If you're talking about the 155mph speed limiter then you'll have to have the ECU reprogrammed. If you're talking about the 110mph speed limiter then I wouldn't since the car I bought was already de-limited.
  11. Just spotted this on ebay, thought it might be of help to someone... Aristo MK1 Suspension He's also got other parts from a Aristo up for sale too.
  12. If you want I've got Physiotherapy next week for my dislocated Patella (knee-cap), I could maybe ask my physio to give some sort of excercises or something or suggestions if you want :). Since I hardly get a chance to come on here as of recent, just give me an email on Mitulparmar787@hotmail.com, if you want me to ask :).
  13. Why not take a look at Eagle F1's? I've got them on the Aristo and they are MUCH better than the Continental ContiSportContact that were on there previously but only in the rain. In the dry they are equal, although the sidewall is pretty weak compared to the Continentals. I picked up a pair of Eagle F1's for £210 including fitting.
  14. Most expensive doesn't always mean the nicest! Eurgh!
  15. The engine can handle up to 800bhp with stock internals, although it is asking for trouble. The first things you need to do is, get a full system exhaust, either a performance air filter in the stock airbox or a induction kit, Fuel Cut Defender and Boost Controller. Also look into getting a BOV as it will definitely help with Compressor Surge when running higher boost. One of the quietest exhaust is the Fujitsubo Aristo Exhaust system which is available from Japan, apparently the most "popular" exhaust as it's a very high flow design which isn't very loud whatsoever compared to stock. Air Filter I'd go for a APEXi Power Intake, and make a custom heatsheild as opposed to using the stock airbox. I'm planning out my induction box as we speak using the stock front "nozzle", should be done in the next two - three weeks. I'll post up pictures if you want. BOV, personally I've gone with the HKS Super SQV due to it's design, and well it does give off a VERY sweet sound lol. Boost controller I'd go with the Blitz Dual Solenoid R version (can't remember model number off the top of my head), as it's supposed to simple to use and enables a sharper boost curve than any others Boost Controllers out there. After doing all of that, I'd look into getting the Autobox rebuilt with uprated parts. If I'm not mistaken Whifbitz do a Boostlogic autobox upgrade. This uprated gearbox is supposed to be able to handle 1000+ rwhp easily. Although the most expensive upgrade you will have to do, it's the most worthwhile as you'll have no doubt eliminated the weakest link in the whole car. Another thing I'd look into is uprated brakes, even running uprated discs and pads will be enough, or if you're in need of some more stopping power, you can always upgrade to the Supra TT disc & caliper, or if you've got deep pockets look into the Endless USA kit for the Supra which I'm told will fit the Aristo. Just make sure you've got enough clearance for the Endless kit as the discs are MASSIVE! If you haven't already got a Turbo timer, GET ONE! Even if you have to sit inside the car or wait for the car to turn off, it's worth it as a good turbo timer will calculate how long the engine needs to stay on. That's all I can think of right now off the top of my head. Goodluck!
  16. My Aristo runs out of "steam" at about 155-160mph, just a bit confused Yoshi, about the 200km/h.
  17. I'm looking at getting uprated Roll Bars as well. I was considering the Tein Flex Setup, apparently it's the most comfort orientated yet stiff spring setup for the GS300. Just wondering, how does the Toms brace one vary to the TRD brace one?
  18. Hello AGAIN! I've been going through PowerHouse Racing's website and came across their Torque Convertor with a stall speed of 4,000 rpm. Would it be a worthwhile upgrade for the stock gearbox? Or would I be better off just getting a WHOLE NEW gearbox from Boostlogic? Just curious, Thanks, Mitul.

    Ttc

Hello everybody (I seem to be busy making threads this morning :D) Just curious, has anyone run their Aristo with the Turbo's running in parallel as opposed to sequential? I know there will be a greater lag, but after a full system exhaust I think the lag would be "lessened". Has anyone done such a thing yet? If so does it get rid of the power loss around "3500rpm" ? Thanks, Mitul.
  20. Hello everybody, Just wondering if anyone has performed any suspension modifications on their Aristo's. Need to know what in people's opinions is the BEST Coilover kit that will stop the cars nose from diving (braking) and leaning back (accelerating). I've got a TRD Strut brace for the front, going to be buying a rear strut, as well as lower suspension stabilizer bars in the near future, although I know it will help considerably since the car has ALOT of "flex" as it is, I still want to go all out on Handling every chance I get. After handling I'll be looking at a BBK from either Endless USA or AP Racing or Project Mu. After brakes comes performance (ECU, larger Turbo's, Fuel System, FMIC, etc). So any opinions would be much appreciated. PS: Budget, can be stretched pretty far, as it's something I'm hoping to do later on this year, so have got enough time to keep money aside and because I'd rather not cut any corners.
  21. After seeing a test on www.mkiv.com, I had my heart set on the APEXi Power Intake and bought it. No cleaning, superb filtration, and gives you some nice underbonnet "roar" :). Also where to buy it from? You've got PM :).
  22. Just out of curiosity, does the Jap specification 2JZ-GTE have EGR? Thanks, Mitul.
