  1. Was trying to look for an email address for Lexus/Toyota Japan for someone who posted earlier, but across this... Lexus Dealership in Japan
  2. I second the Panny, but stay away from LiteOn's as they aren't the most user friendly out there. Also take a look at the Pioneer DVR-630H.
  3. Thanks Rodders! :) Gave them a call after reading your post, got a quote for £4 each :D
  4. Just had the brakes pads changed on the Aristo. Since we bought the car the pedal had a VERY soft feel to it. You had to push it all the way down to get any brake "response". This was due to Brake Caliper Sliding Pins & Rubber Covers missing. Does anyone where I can source some from? Thanks in Advance, Mitul. PS: Aren't they the same as the Calipers used on the standard MKII GS300? As Swift Spares said they were different :duh:
  5. I bought a pair of Xetronics HID bulbs from HIDExpress in the US, for about £130 for a pair of 8500k HID's. Surprisingly I have not been told by the police that they are too bright, even asked a policeman friend of mine of what he thought, he had no complaints either. Best part is, these actually cover a HUGE distance, and give off a nice colour too.
  6. Also look into EGR Block Off Plates, heard alot of people in the US losing compression in cylinders 5 & 6 due to VERY high heat build up and burning the valves.
  7. I've got a Honda Accord 2.0 Si as a Daily driver (to work and back). It's a 1989 JDM car, that has no remapped ECU or anything whatsoever, but when filled up with Optimax, BP Ultimate, or even the new Tesco SUL 99RON the car runs smooth as it ever has done on SUL. The same with the Aristo, for some reason the engine just does NOT feel as "revvy" as when I'm running a higher octane fuel as opposed to running normal SUL. I guess it's mostly for use in JDM cars as opposed to UK cars.
  8. I actually prefer both! Although I do agree RWD feels more "natural" than a FWD, but FWD cars are not necesarily boring. RWD the whole car turns into a "cocoon" so to speak when going around bends, as the WHOLE car itself "feels" like it's going around the bend, where a FWD feels "longer". Can't explain it in more detail to be honest. If it was up to me though I'd go RWD for a performance car and FWD for a little "throw"-about car.
  9. Didn't know about the Restrictor Ring up till now. Thanks, Mitul.
  10. Looking GOOD Syd! PS: Let me know if you want your number plate LOL.
  11. Chips: I heard the same thing, but then I've also been told that if I want to go above 400wrhp without the gears slipping (AE14 a/t) I'd have to get a built box. Is there any way someone from TDi can confirm this? Aristopheles: Isn't there a "problem" with using a sequential turbo setup on the Aristo with higher than stock boost that would end up killing your 2nd Turbo?
  12. IF it is a legitimate modified Mini, then it may be a very special car! Always had a soft spot for a mini, especially a performance orientated mini.
  13. Thanks for the advice everyone, I guess I will just run them until they pop, as Yoshi stated. I was looking into HKS as a matter of fact, but I want to go Twin instead of a BIG single also looking at a 3.4 Liter Stroker Kit before I go with the Turbo's but that's still to come after a while. Anyways thanks for the information people. Just out of curiosity, has anyone researched into an Uprated Autobox for the Aristo? Asking as I'd rather get the weakest link in the chain sorted out before I sort out the exhaust, downpipe, and run on higher boost (18psi) and do a True Twin Conversion on the car.
  14. I know the Turbo's are meant to be rebuilt after a certain mileage. Considering this car is reaching 107k miles, I thought it would be a safe bet to have the Turbo's reconditioned. I know it's not a easy task getting to, and removing the Turbo's, but I've got an uncle who's willing to do the work. So are there any places that would recondition the turbo's that anyone knows about? Thanks in advance. Mitul.
  15. I've seen quite a few accidents but the worst one was back in India, in February. For people who are not aware, driver's do not give a monkeys about rules there. They get on the highway (motorway) and just drive as fast as they can, and overtake even in the smallest of gaps and "try" and get away with it. Well this time around, cut in short, there was a little hatchback driving along at 40mph, and a lorry was trying to overtake it. The lorry driver must've underestimated the size of his lorry when overtaking, and well another lorry was about to greet him from the opposite side of the road head on. When the guy just swerved back into the lane, and in essence crushing the hatchback and everyone IN it with the rear 4 wheels. Was a sad sight to see :(. Also went on a little drive last Sunday, in the Aristo, along with my mates in their Skyline's, Supra's, Pulsar's and well some idiot in a (embarassed to say) LS400 tried racing with one of the Skyline . I mean we're going about minding our own business, going to a car park to meet up with some other people, sticking to speed limits and this idiot in the LS400 think he'll be a smart ***** and swerve right in front of me. I mean thank *** the brakes are as capable as they are, as he would've not only written my car off, but also would've killed my mate in the passenger seat. The worst part, the guy was some 40ish bearded guy. People take "safety" for granted nowadays in their cars, and it's these people who are the reason Speed Camera's are being put up. Hope I didn't go off topic.
  16. Old Mercedes I have to admit were the ****, built like tanks, and would hardly ever break down on you...the new ones are just relying on the Mercedes Brand name and image, not to mention every tom, *****, harry, uncle, aunt, granny has one (where I live anyway). JC is a funny bloke, as in laughing at him not with him. He thinks every guy is a rich pompous prat like himself who can go and buy a "prestige" car. In a recent Top Gear I watched (old series) they had a little Kia or Daihatsu or Daewoo or something (budget far east car), where EVERYONE liked the car considering it could be had brand new for £5000 and it was reliable, got to the point, didn't look too bad either, yet he didn't like it whatsoever. IMHO he should be the last person reviewing a car, he's TOO biased. A review should point the up's and down's of a car, compare them to other's NOT make bs comments about a car being..."A copy. A Mercedes clone." The guy must've been on LSD or some other hallucigen when he was writing the article, as there's nothing similar about the GS series to ANY Mercedes. (end vent/ramble).
  17. Thanks for the replies. :) I've checked for moisture, etc behind the glovebox, and it's perfectly dry...even after it raining pretty heavily, it was still dry. Took a look at both fuses, one in the passenger footwell and one in the driver footwell (found it accidentally), and they're both perfectly fine...but still replaced them as a precaution. Still nothing :(. I'll take a look in the boot tomorrow, I hope I can find this thing. Thanks again, will give an update as to what I find tomorrow :). Mitul.
  18. Here's a picture of what's behind the Glovebox and CD Changer.
  19. I was driving home from Brighton on Sunday, and went over a little "dip" on the road, doing about 70mph and I had the stereo on playing at a moderate level. As soon as I hit the "dip" the audio from the CD Player went mute, and all I could smell was an electrical smell (something FRIED :( ), coming from behind the glove box/center console. Now I never had a problem with the stereo before, but I'm scared as to what it might be. I've taken the glovebox apart, and taken the CD Changer out and all I can see is the Pollen Filter and when I go look from under the dash all I can see is the Front Passenger on dash Airbag. I've got experience in trouble shooting aftermarket systems, but I'm completely baffled as to what is where and what goes where, etc, etc in this car. I'll post up some pictures of the area behind the dashboard if it'll help any, but please someone help me. I hope it's not something expensive . I had NEVER abused the stereo and I've taken EXTREME care of everything in the car. Just curious as to what might've gone bad :( , if it's the amplifier (which I can't find behind the glove box). Does ANYBODY know where I can maybe take the car to have it diagnosed? Someone who might know what is going on? Thanks, Mitul. PS: Pics will be shown below as soon as I get them hosted up. EDIT: When you put a CD into the CD Changer, the counter on the screen shows it's playing, but no sound :(.
  20. or an alternative would be to buy a Aristo?
  21. I used to get it when the passenger side wasn't levelling correctly, ever since it's been "resolved" NEVER been flashed again :). Make sure your levelling is near enough perfect :).

    De-cat

I might be interested, but curious about one thing. How much of the "quietness" would be sacrificed with the de-cat? Also I'm not 100% sure I can come up with the money yet, but I might do.
  23. Glad to hear things are finally going your way! Let us know how it all goes :). Mitul.
  24. I was feeling the same as you are with my Aristo, but a BOV & Induction Kit, and going out for a little cruise night with two R33 Skyline GTR's (400whp), a Toyota Supra (800whp), a Nissan 200SX S14a (250whp) and a Nissan Pulsar GTi-R (280whp) yesterday made me think twice about being bored with the car. Just think you need a little change, maybe do some performance modifications on the car? If not then I'd just say look for a higher performance Lex, maybe an Altezza? Mitul.
