  1. Just done mine - circa £16 from Chris - well worth doing.
  2. Any news on the date yet ? I am going into hospital on the 16 Feb to have my leg broken and plated - will be out of action for a couple on months Still want to go if I can - just depends when ...
  3. Perhaps I would just say I brought the car 2nd hand and apart from the springs I had done I assumed the car to be totally standard - after all it does have a FLSH etc - wonder if they would buy that ?
  4. Yes the budgets OK even if we change the scope of works ...
  5. I originally wanted a K&N but they were not out when I got the Trust one (recent LOC GB) - the K&N came out the same weekend I tried the Trust - took it out and ordered K&N - still brand new except for 10 miles use - no real reason - just me being me I guess ! :P No not declared on insurance - as it fits within the standard airbox it is not altering the performance of the engine any more than changing a dirty std filter for a new clean one IMO. Have declared TTE springs but would not expect panel filter to be an issue - unless you folks out there know different of course ?
  6. The filter is excellent - had one on my RAV 4 for 50k with no problems too. On the RAV I could really feel the difference - on the IS200 it is slightly less obvious but it has also changed the induction note which is nice - South Coast Wheels do them but think TDI do on here too.
  7. K&N have just launched an IS200 panel filter - just fitted mine. Where is the MAF sensor located - should it be wiped clean or is it not that sort of component ?
  8. Hell - remind me not to travel with you :P On a more serious note I do hope you do get to talk again in better circumstances ...
  9. Ah - worth asking around to see if it would be covered if you extended the warranty - think it costs £480 ish a year (discount in gold ?) - then you can do up to 140k and 7 yrs ... Might be cheaper than going for a direct fix perhaps - depends how bad it is I guess - they all seem to clonk in varying degrees. Or you could find some record of it being mentioned at previous services - this would show the fault being logged earlier - were you the previous driver ?
  10. Best not let the missus see all these blond jibes
  11. PM me if you are interested in a Trust one.
  12. For what it's worth I used the 3 stage and Autoglym car wash - this shampoo cleans the best in my opinion.
  13. Had a little bit of this over the clutch(es) - ask him to arrange a visit by the area technician man - he tours the various dealers and identifies and sorts queries such as this - it got my clutch resolved anyway. Failing that try another dealership. How old and leggy is your car not to qualify ?
  14. I'll second the K&N panel filter comment - fitted mine the weekend too and it has changed the induction noise slightly - nice !
  15. Good result and very useful info. for future cases - thank you.
  16. Hey - sorry to hear your sad news - hope it goes ok and that this event can be a catylst to sorting things out between you all.
  17. Ha - tough choice - chatterbox wife or rattling seat belt - anyone got a seat belt - the wife cure is too expensive !! :D
  18. Yes - Guildford are excellent at warranty work - even though it did take until the 3rd clutch and flywheel to sort the judder out. Assume you are dealing with Malcolm - if they say they all do it just stress you have driven others that don't !!
  19. Who on earth thinks these things up - 212mph - perhaps my cordless mouse won't keep up ...
  20. We have just got a midi tower Matrix 64 - 3200 Ultra and the fan is fairly loud compared to our work PC's - might just be the room it is in though - will be interesting how you get on - keep us posted.
  21. Check out the Autoexpress site - think they did some battery testing recently.
  22. QUOTE (Steve @ Jan 29 2004, 05:55 PM) Hey! I know I don't know much.. but I do know some things! So that's Ian exhausted of knowledge now then ... ! :P
  23. Took me 5 mins to get in up the drive backwards - just kept spinning wheels no matter how I tried ! On the road was almost worse - roll on the summer ! Mind you round our way you only need a transit and you can still do 40mph it seems
