Sounds daft but try the Co-Op (CIS Insurance) - they were always cheapest for me in former years - now with Direct Line but they tend to cherry pick the lower risk groups - CIS never used to ...

Painted mine the weekend - dark blue Hammerite smooth. Just washed calipers with car wash and tooth brush - left to dry (10 mins in this heat) and painted using small art brush - looks dead smart and very easy to do. Now just waiting for chrome stickers to complete - not chosen laquer yet though ... B)

I used to always get this done (had an '87 XR2 that was very balance sensitive) - Collins tyres in Portsmouth used to have the kit - seat units with big chrome drive wheel that rubbed on edge of wheel and axle stands with sensors in (load cells ?) - always worked a treat as takes into account drive shaft balance etc. They no longer do it - everywhere now seems to do the off-car method - perhaps it is now more reliable - it used to be that they could set the sensitivity on these units - unsure if it is still the case but worth asking ...

Road Angel got my vote - it has the radar detection attachment too - only downside is it is a bit bulky - works a treat though so not moaning ... :D

I can vouch for the road-angel - only problem is it is a bit on the bulky side. Amazing how you watch your speed - any the GPS speedo certainly shows how far out the standard speedo is - speedo 70mph = GPS 62mph.

Guy at work has a D Type replica and TVR and he put me onto Gliptone (available via web - don't have address with me) - it worked much better than Autoglym (I have black leather in IS200) - no white residue / smells superb / leather no very supple. :P

I am getting an average of 29 mpg - IS200 SE manual - a/c knocks 1 - 2 mpg off in this weather - mix of town and motorway. Best ever was 32 mpg on run to Scotland. Worst ever 22 mpg round town and going mad in country ... :D

I was told (by Guildford) that Lexus did not do touch up paint - what ? They finally got some paint in an old plastic pot from their valeting / paint guy and gave me that instead. It was crap - nothing like Platinum Ice. Asked at last service and surprise surprise they handed me a Toyota Silver touch up and laquer pack ! I can give you the Part No. later if that helps - let me know ...

Anyone got a cure for the seat belt spring rattle - I currently leave belt slightly twisted to stop the noise but it looks really untidy ... :duh:

How about adjusting IS headlight alignment - mine seem too low even with in-car adjuster wound right up ... :)
