  4. My father is currently re-doing his will and is interested in how to avoid as much tax (esp inheritance tax) as possible. I always understood property etc could be transferred to family as long as the giver lived on for min. 7 yrs it was tax free - solicitor says different. Does anyone have any good dodges to share ?
  5. OK - daft questions time: do the panel filters make much difference if running std exhaust ? do they provide as much engine protection as std filter ? does anything else need tweaking when fitted ? Once had K&N fitted to my RAV4 and it seemed more responsive but always worried about dirt getting past / running lean ...
  6. Just tell him Lexus Edgeware Rd called again to say the leak was not in fact from your car but in fact splashing from a puddle of oil - perhaps from another car leaking in the vicinity ... :D
  7. Just about to put my chrome stickers onto "smooth hammerited" calipers - big question is what laquer - got some bog std big H spray but it doesn't mention heat resistent - is this likely to be a problem ?

  10. would that be someone asking where they were ?
  11. Always been too "play-safe" myself - demonstrated by my 22 years service with just 1 company. Do have the greatest of respect to those who do go for it - and many friends have successfully. Problems only seem to arise when trying to expand and hire people - you then rely on your judgement and their honesty ... If the business plan really stacks up (even at most pessimistic projections) then go for it - I am sure your company (like most others)would not hesitate if they had to downsize and by then you may have missed the boat. Assume you have a confidentiality agreement in place on all those you show the plan to if you are thinking of going it alone ...
  12. I cannot sign up on works PC and not hooked up at home until father christmas comes - will do it then. Lost my mum to cancer 5 weeks ago after a four year battle of chemo / bone marrow transplants etc. The people who work on research and in hospitals are so committed they deserve medals ... Gutted I can't sign up now.

  17. Any news on these stickers ? - mine have not arrived yet - calipers are painted but looking naked
  18. BA Club Class blankets are great for picnics
  19. Suggest you visit the web site - search on "blackspot" or something similar. Think the mobile units "fire" several times before fix is achieved giving you some time to slow - even if just lifting foot off the loud pedal - each MPH saved can make a difference. PM for buying tip esp if using Big H
  20. Lucky the guy and his Audi were parked just there or it could have been really nasty ...
  21. - and she was only trying to qualify as a Super Moderator ... :D
  22. Yes it is very good - only problem is trying to mount it neatly as the unit reflects on screen if mounted next to Sat Nav unit (real pet hate) and bounces on standard platic mounting if mounted on RH side. Currently making pukka ali bracket in our workshop so hope to sort this week. Unit itself works well and can be adjusted to give lots or little warning distance / sound or not etc for "blackspots" and cameras. Doing updates via modem at home is quick though have had small problems getting connections - helpline really does as it says though and HQ are very very helpful in that respect. Just had cables to separate (laser or radar ? - i've forgotten and got corrected last time !) unit and intend to mount up behind mirror ASAP. I looked at the various systems for ages and a GPS unit does seem to be the way to go without doubt - would be interested in how it compares the Snooper 6r system though ... (Gosh - thats my longest ever mail here - hope you didn't get too bored :o )
  23. We go to Launceston a lot (mother in-laws !) from Portsmouth using the M27 / A36 / A303 / A358 / M5 / A30 - there are not too many real camera installations (using Road Angel) but they do love their private speed trap vans parked on bridges - have a good trip, here are some ace roads round that way :D
