  1. clicky I have a problem though...my car is very low in the front (probably as low as Aztecbandit Lexus) but the rear is still high (John Deere right there...). Now installing the springs with 70mm drop would make the front wheels rub the front fenders? Is the geometry affected in any way?
  2. Hi mate, how was your suspension initially? Lower in front?
  3. Can you return them? Try that and get better ones.
  4. not really suitable for Lexus IS200...actually not suitable for any car if I think about it.
  5. Yes mate. It needs changing. I changed my cambelt few days ago and I think the engine runs much smoother. To justify my answer: basically a new belt will put a swlightly(if not significant) more pressure(tension) on the tensioner and the other components moved by the timing belt. More stress(pressure) on some worn parts could lead to their failure which could cause some really expensive damage to your pocket and your engine(or the other way around :)). Is something similar with changing the oil...is not compulsory to change the oil filter but you don't want fresh oil to run through a dirty oil filter. So basically this is the reason why you need to change the tensioner and the idler...just for your peace of mind. You will not get in there for the next 100.000 km so I don't think the old tensioner and idler will last that long. I am a bit crazy if i say that I chnaged the oil seals for cams and the waterpump. Nothing wrong with them but i just wanted to make sure everything is new in there. On the other hand though, when you sell the car, mentioning that you replaced such and such with new parts, could put some extra money back into your pocket, if you know what I mean. That shows to the new owner that you looked after it and you didn't cut any corners. Good luck. PS. I am still amazed by how smooth an engine could run after the belt has been changed. The guy might've fixed the timing on my car but now I am happy again. :))
  6. Hi there, I bought some lowering springs for my Lexus IS200 and the guy said that it will lower the car 2.5 inch to 3 inch from the standard. I am a bit concerned that it could be too low for my Lex and it could affect the geometry of the suspension dramatically. Plus, the front of the car is quite low at the moment and I think with 2.5 inch drop spring I am going to rub all the speed bumps. Is anyone here with superlow springs on thei car (2.5 -3 inch drop)? Is that going to be ok? What's you advice? I won the Ebay auction and I don't know what to do...:( Get the springs and sell them or tell the guy I am not interested anymore (I would hate to do that)? Any advice (reasonable one) would be very helpfull.
  7. What about the dash dials? muchos apologias, I thought u meant the rings for the heater dials etc No problemo ese :))
  8. Ok, that's what I wanted to hear mate. Is it necessary to remove the cambelt to remove the waterpump? NO. Basically I want to do that later on along with some other upgrades. I will see. Thanks for your help guys...
  9. With those ones mate, you will need to cut them using a dremmel or something. Easy to do but you need to be careful. You can glue it back together with some silicone, no probs. Looks like you're handy so I am sure you will do a good job as you did with your fogs.
  10. So, you guys are saying that I CAN change the water pump at a later date without necessary taking the timing belt off, is that correct. I know it doesn't need changing, but if I want to I can change it later my self, without taking the camblet off(which would be my main concern). Basically I want to change the water pump with the other 3 belts as well as radiator hoses (upgrade to silicone) and a new cooler later on down the track.
  11. It needs changing mate, even if it's not broken. In most cases where the waterpump runs off the cambelt(timing belt) it's really good to change it. In this case to waterpump is not driven by the timing belt so I was just wondering if it can be done at a later date without removing the cambelt.
  12. Hi there, Is it really necessary to change the waterpump as well with the cambelt? The water pump doesn't run off the cambelt so I think I can change it later by my self. Is it hard to change it? I would like to change the radiator hose as well as the bypass hose along with the other 3 belts (power steering, alternator and fan belt) but I don't have the extra money now so I was thinking to do this later. Is that ok? What you guys know?
  13. It was ok, not super good...it could've been better. Megan Fox is a hottie though!!!!
  14. I have a Lexus IS200 1999 and I am looking for the right timebelt. I bought the Gates T885 for Lexus IS200 but it has only 27mm width. Then I saw 5282X on internet from an Ebay seller with a much wider timing belt. I googled the code and it came up with one that has only 27mm....so I a bit confused. If I get the stuff from uk would they fit the australian version...I guess they should but even when I called the guys from Lexus they told me that the belt has 27mm so I am confused..how come you guys have wider cambelts? The tensioner looks different and I am a bit concerned that is not going to fit the kit off Ebay.co.uk Please help.
  15. Hi there, I am due to change the cambelt on my IS200 and I bought the Gates timing belt at a very good price. The problem is that I am not sure about the width of it as I've seen some cars with a wider belt (around 500mm) where mine one has only 250 mm. Is this the right part number? I don't want to have everything puled apart only to find out that the cambelt doesn't fit. Do you guys know the part number for Gates ones? Also, the waterpump will be changed as well. What should I go for? GMB or NPW? Both reputable brands but I want the better one and I am not sure which one is the right one. Thanks in advance. Mercer
  16. I've had a closer look today and it seems that the contact band is broken it doesn't make a proper contact. Is there any way I can fix that?
  17. sounds like the ribbon connector is lose or damaged HI mate, that might be right. Where is that ribbon connector located? Unfortunately the car came with the head unit, therefore no warranty. Is there any way I can fix that or replace it by any chance ? Thanks in asdvance for your help guys.
  18. Hi there, I have a Pioneer head unit that worked fine till this afternoon when the screen stopped working and went completely blank. It's one of those units that the head unit covers the space where the cd goes in ( I hope I make sense here). The head unit is working (playing music and adjust the colume)however, I can't see anything. The strange thing is that when I want to take the cd out, the unit detaches (which is normal ) and the screen is working for one second and then it goes blank again (when it sits at horizontal). When I put the cd in the headunit goes in works for one sec and then goes blank again. It's the first time when it does that. Is anyone here that could give me an idea why it doesn't work? Thank you in advance. M
  19. yeah, that's what I was thinking...it would help the downforce. Also, he could attach the cardboard covers on his wheels. Same colour, same theme .... it could be the best Ford
