  1. Twas me infact, I hope the reply was good! Well thank you... i think... can i ask why? Wozza i apologise Either way i have made my points very clear and also copied in David Minto and Stacie Ormes so that nobody feels left out
  2. I have never been treated that way either at Lexus Sidcup, or when they were formerly Lexus Bromley. The reason they may well have not had a loan car is they get booked out a couple of weeks beforehand, hence why Chris was told one was not available unless a customer dropped out. When work has been done on very short notice I have also gone without a loan car, but when booking my car in for sheduled word in advance, one has always been available (IS250 Sport MM, GS450h) I hope you get this sorted soon Chris. Oh and the ladies name is Stacie btw. It twas lexus GB that offered me the hire car... to which i obviously said well ok then! not directly to sidcup... Wozza im assuming you sent christopher the link to this post? but either way it was nice to get an email diretly from christopher :winky:
  3. is a shame really, am seriously considering getting a RX300/400 next year or a newer GS430/450 if things keep on the line they are on now. Think it might be cantebury that get the sale though...
  4. well at this rate my mum was treated better at skoda when she took her new favourit in for a service!
  5. Speak to Lexus GB directly again mate. Given the hastle you've gone through, they should just take a car from the sales area if all the others are taken. exactly, given the fact all i want them to do is align the steering i cant see why they want the car for a full day? in at 8am and back at 5.30pm... Have left a message for lexus gb to call back
  6. just had a snotty call from the service individual stacy/sophie/something to say i cant have a hire car unless someone drops out... obviously lexus gb said something to her that she didnt like.. not sure if its resolved anything though.
  7. not too sure if lexus have a quick look over this site or not, but i just got a call from lexus head office to see if i had any issues with lexus sidcup? They definately feel that i have been mistreated with regards to this and are dealing with the dealership at the moment. am awaiting a call back
  8. also if you want a really good silver then you need to do a black base coat, that will make the silver so much better than just over grey primer
  9. well i have just had both lower ball joints replaced by lexus Sidcup (formerly bromley) whilst having my accelerator sensor replaced.. After spending a good 200 miles in the car its very apparent that something has changed with regards to the steering wheel position.. basicaly to drive in a straight line you have to turn the wheel to the right about 5 degrees. Just got off the phone with the lady on servicing at lexus bromley who told me that we dont touch the tie rods on ball joint replacements... to which i asked her if they actualy check to ensure that all suspension component replacements are checked for alignment after work is competed on overly worn parts. she started getting all snotty with me telling me i dont know about cars???? Car should be going to them on monday (will have to loose if for a day!). I personaly think its very concevable that the previous owners had alignment done when the bushes were worn which when the new parts were fitted caused it to come out of alignment. To be honest i wish christopher was able to take the call, as so far i felt like i was being dealt with by a BMW dealer and not lexus when sophie or what ever her name is deals with calls. Do i just take it to an alignment centre and have the problem rectified this week or spend another 400 miles with ******* steering and have lexus find a way to weedle out and charge me tripple what a local centre would do it for? Its really not been that good so far in my experience with sidcup, christopher is very good at smothing over the problems... but there shouldnt have been any problems in the first place, so several letdowns on car return date combined with having my car returned covered in greasy oily hand prints and un valeted (even though they claimed the extra waiting time was due to valeting?????) not looking too good for a new dealership
  10. my car feels a lot more responsive now, before the car had days when it seemed like the response time of the accelerator pedal to power at the wheels was not consistant.. almost hesitant. The new one fitted feels excelent. Feel a lot more confident.. sure when you take the power away from the ecu for a bit it works again for a while but i had one day where it went into limp mode 5 times... just in time for its booked in appt with sidcup where they diagnosed it instantly. you will need to go to lexus for the diagnostics though.. £65 for the check but worth it. part is about £166 plus fitting and programing.. doubtful that anyone else can do it without the lexus software.. Only problem i had with lexus sidcup was they started Valeting my car (just carpets and interior) but left exterior dirty and with oil and grease on wheels and bodywork..
  11. got car back, feels much better now that the sensor has been changed out... Big thanks to christopher at lexus sidcup though.. much better than the woman i had been dealing with!
  12. car went in last thursday, had the problem diagnosed.. parts due to arrive and fit tues, half the parts turn up.. decide not to start job till all parts arrive (ball joints came first).. sensor does not arrive till thursday morning at which point they decide not to fit it and tell me that the will try to get it into the workshop at some point in afternoon.. still not done.. will be going there to get my car tonight.. not overly happy as i would have been able to sort a car if they had just told me it would be next friday.. had to spend a week on my ZX12R which is no fun in the pooring rain.. and its more thirsty than the lex! 400 miles worth..
  13. i hope to pick the car up today!!!! less than impressed to be honest.. lets hope the valet is of good quality.. had £660 worth of work done too... two lower ball joints and the accelerator sensor!
  14. mine had very similar problems and turned out to be the accelerator sensor. Although Lexus sidcup have far from impressed me.... with constant shifting delivery times... tuesday for sure, thursday for sure.. maybe friday...
  15. personaly i would stay well clear of lambo doors... i have known a lot of people who have had them fitted to various cars, kits ranging from £100 DIY kits to £1000+ LSD kits.. every single one of them was sick to death after a few months. It limits how you get in or out of your car, creaks, shuts are no longer perfect... the doors can drop as you go thorough them.. and worst of all when the wind is up they flap about and get bent... also on a 4 door they look unbalanced... if your after an interesting look get the rears fitted with a suicide door hinge and that way you will have an interesting look thats still practical
  16. went in today for the faultcode reading at lexus sidcup, they have diagnosed a failiure of the accelerator sensor, £338 inc of vat and fitting. Luckily the car has a full warranty and lexus are dealing with them to get it sorted by tuesday (bloody bank holidays.. lol) So it looks like i will be using the bike in the rain for a few days!! no fun... but at least they are getting it sorted!
  17. are they not just activated by a switched 5v signal? surely it wouldnt be hard to identify the signal wire and put a switch on it? that way you could decide when the arial went up and down?
  18. hmmm what ever that link was it was friggin annoying... couldnt close link and had to ctrl + Alt + delete to shut it down manualy.. Link not safe for those at work with speakers
  19. my personal favourite pad is the "blueprint" brand, they can normaly be had for just under £40 and seem to fare very well.
  20. its identical to the IS200 for the brake pad removal. if you start from the passenger side wheel: Raise car and remove wheel. Using a 13mm (i think) socket remove upper sliding pin bolt. Wiggle the caliper about to free it up a bit (not sure what Nm constitutes a "wiggle") Pivot the caliper to the right thus revealing your pads and two retaining springs that mount into the pads. Remove springs and remove the pads. Prepare new pads and apply a light smear of copper grease to back of pad. fit pads into caliper bracket. refit springs (dont forget this step as i always do) undo the top of the brake fluid reservoir, and using something like a g-cramp and a block of wood push the pistons back. slide caliper back over pads and refit and tighten retaining bolt. refit wheel and torque up the bolts.. then repeat on other side... really is a 15 min job
  21. could you not arrange to buy the house for a nominal fee from him? pay the duties off that, he can have a great time with the money and agree to pay you his savings as rent or something... so everything is done in life and not in death, and of sound body n mind? then pay off the morgage or what ever with the inheritance funds. But i agree totaly with fargo.. your uncle has not passed yet, my dad died suddenly when i was 18 and i would give all i have to have him back. The time should be spent making his last time here the best. What ever you get after the tax man has been paid is more than you have now, and the only two certanties in life are death and taxes.
