  1. In this facelift, front looking more close to the original concept LF-CC, i prefer my current fsport front though. The rear lights shape the sme but with redefined fog and reverse lights, probably looks more safer and more visible, though still looks lke singe reverse and singe fog lamp. I really hope Lexus in the future ( real 4th Gen) IS model make it with 2 rear fog lamps and 2 reverse lamps..
  2. Though I'm happy with my F-sport as it is, but reading peoples experience with AVS, maybe i should have added the AVS option - i only got the leather and the Prem Satnav. I read that in some markets AVS is standard in F-sport trim, e.g. Lexus Australia. With Lexus Uk now doing a Sports grade, i think F-sport should have included AVS as standard.
  3. I think the IS300H gves good feedback of the road to the streering wheel, perhaps this is the sensivity that the originall poster made.. However unlike him, i do not question whether the IS is safe in heavy rain. If other cars like BMW are masking this feedback, then surely that is more dangerous, giving a false sense of security.. That's my take on this,,
  4. Thanks for that, i truely didn't know that.. just went out and checked it out..
  5. Not sure if anyone has posted this, when the filling up, I don't like fuel cap just flopping down and hanging by te plastic, i would have thought some sort of catch be provided to hold the cap whilst I'm filling up..
  6. I think he has his fingers in too many pies.. don;t forget he is still burning money.. Some of his prodictions are a given and he's not the only one to think that way., however the part about summoning your car from another city will only be a gimmick and of no practical use for the majority. The age of knightroder is drawaing closer....
  7. With the single reversing lamp, what i miss is the symmetry of my previous car with 2 lights. Even though i have the reversing camera and bumoer sensors, under certain conditions it still cannot make up for the missing light...
  8. Not really a discovery nor interesting, and not sure if anyones posted about these.. Bad : Single reverse light only, the 2nd Gen IS which i had previously had twin reverse lights whch was soometie handy for lighting up the rear in the dark, Moving off in the morning, there is a judder in mevment when the engine kicks in ( perhaos engine cold?), i would have thought the PSD would have smoothed this off.. Rain sensors sometimes get confused Good - plenty of good points
  9. I'm thinking that way too. I think my engi?ne cuts in too soon in he morning, i'm wondering whether it's because the climate control is on and weather s cold.. Bad batteries ?
  10. Beautiful car.. If i were in the market for this car, and if this were out now, this'll be the car...
  11. Is it worth filling IS300H with premium fuel such as Shell V power, Tesco Momentum etc ?
  12. It is very hard to record, more you can feel it than hear. Just switch your dashboard to RPM display, turn off ASC, and on flat long road where you can drive with stable 70-90kmph try to stick to 1300 RPMs. Many thanks, will try to find time to do that..
  13. I bought a new IS300h f sport 3 weeks ago , I would like to know how I can find this fault if it exists on my car.. is there any video or capture of sound i can refer to ?
  14. Yes, that was around the figure.. would they really do that and claim they gave me a new one ?
  15. Do Lexus service centres have new EGR in stock ready to be fitted or do they have to be ordered ? i was apprenty fitted a new one whch they happen to have in stock, did they really do that or was it juts cleaned out ? The reason i ask is because my car suffered loss of power twice this week which i did not expect, after a new EGR was fitted a couple of weeks ago,,
  16. Thanks Ian J. Parsley.. I currently drive the the 220d. I find the 10,000 miles interval too short, I reach that in approx 8 months,,even if the interval of the 300H is 12K , i think it is too short compared with the 20K of German brands. I'm thinking of changing to the 300H..
  17. HI, Anyone know what the service interval for the new IS300h is ?
  18. 1. Lift bonnet and take a good look at the coolant expansion tank. You DO NOT want to see any oily residue mixed in with the water coolant. You want to see just pinky coloured liquid. 2. Take the oil filler cap off and take a look inside. Oil residue should be oil ONLY. If you see a residue that resembles mayonnaise in there be very concerned. Take look underneath the cap you have just removed too!! These are two very sure indicators of a blown Head Gasket. Many Thanks !
  19. I really liked the concept car styling so was disappointed with the final outcome.. However, I did see one on the road today near Lexus Hatfield, I deliberately slowed to let it by me, to be honest it looks better in the flesh.. but still nothing compare with its concept. I was expecting Lexus to something special with the hybrid system, performance on tap (for when you need it) e.g. sub 10sec 0-60, decent 30-70 figures, whilst having good economy. I think they've failed on performance & styling but perhaps delivered on economy. Was thinking about it for my wife. As for me I'm sticking with my IS until the redesigned one comes out.. Overall, the CT easily beats the Audi 1.6/1.9 A3 Diesels but cannot for anything above or any of the BMW 1 series.. How can Lexus capture the young professional market.. Let's see how Lexus does with the CT in a years time..
  20. I have a Diesel because of it's mix of economy & performance but never enjoy the noise of a diesel. looking forward to trying it out especially if it can get equivalent 2.0 litre diesel performance and economy..
