I know a guy who has the same car. He is gettin some ~9 litres per 100km (about 26 mpg?)
I tought - weird, since official conumption should be around 39 mpg.
and navigation - it sux here in Latvia too :)
you took the core out? that means you removed dash and everything else? or did the flush while the core is in its place.
I had the same problem. flushed it with garden hose and it got better. But I think needs some chemicals. heaters are warm but I think it needs to be burning hot when on max.
mine smokes alot too. I think thats just normal. standart exhaust is quite large in diameter than other cars, maybe that gives you impresion it smokes alot.
and yeah... cold weather sux :( cars get ultra thirsty
...or have 2 people sitting in the back. this will give you tons of grip :)
or else, get some bags with sand and carry them around in your trunk. they will add weight in the rear and be useful once you get stuck.
I just love my lex in the snow. powersliding all the time.
I have 16'' Borbet CA rims and Dunlop Graspic DS-2 tyres on them.
And today it is snowing in my country :hehe:
Congrats man! Welcome to forums
mondeo is FWD right? Lex is RWD and that is quite a difference in handling.
For start - dont hit throttle when going in turns, car can spin out easy. and in winter take it to frozen lake, or snowy/icey parking lot or stadium and see how car responds how it handles etc. that is what i did :)
I just love driving in snow :) sideways all the time :)
trc button is not the same as vsc. or is it?
if you will remove vsc fuse, abs will stop working also. you can make vsc-off switch yourself. you have to wire a button to steering angle sensor positive voltage wire. after the car is started push this button and vsc will detect error and stop working, in the same time vsc light will show up in speedoo.
only way to turn it back on is to turn off car and next time when you will start it vsc will operate as usual.
sometimes it does not want to move when steering wheel is locked.
for me it works every time to move steering wheel left and right in the same time when turning the key.
Hi again!
It gets colder outside and again I have the same problem. Well, I have never solved it either...
it is cold in my car :( takes very long time for inside to heat up.
There are things I know for sure - air mix sensor works fine, there are NO air bubbles in coolant, coolant is at right level and never drops.
Do someone know in which direction the coolant flows? From upper hose to lower?
My idea is, that heater core could be clogged and I want to try to give it a water blast in opposite direction.
mine does the same. when you unlock your car just open and close some of the doors. this will stop autolocking.
or, you could connect trunk and door switches together, so when you open the trunk, car thinks you have opened some of the doors.
