  1. Yes, I've read that the screen improved, although it looks fine to my untrained eye!
  2. As it happens I think dark blue and cream is possibly the best combo! I don't have any info regarding work done. The car does speak for itself though seen in the way its been looked after. I searched all over it to find a blemish to negotiate a price but found nothing! It's also just me and my wife so hopefully keeping it clean inside shouldn't be too bad, after all, the previous owner seemed to manage. The dealer I got it through get their Lexus cars from the main dealers, maybe Lexus Leicester will give me some info?
  3. It's not a silly question because originally I didn't! It is on now though. I can answer using the button on the steering wheel but get no sound. Maybe I just need more time trying to understand it....if it ever stops raining.
  4. Although I've got the phone paired with the car and it notifies me of an incoming call, the sound doesn't come through the door speaker, only the phone. Any ideas?
  5. A friend who specialises in Jaguars constantly complains about their unreliability, especially the XF.
  6. It drives completely straight and feels solid. It's the kind of car that gives you confidence if you know what I mean. While I'm at it I think I should apologise as this post has been well and truly highjacked!
  7. I'm glad you're enjoying the experience! I've had 2 LS 400's and two LS430's all great cars, but I've never graduated to a 460. So many members from Yorkshire!!
  8. Interestingly two people have said in the past couple of days the shape looks a bit like a Jag!
  9. I may be way off with this but some luxury cars have heated and cooled cup holders, I don't know if this is the case with the LS460 but I'm sure someone will let you know. And welcome to the LOC.
  10. Never ever used the sunroof on any car that has AC so I don't really see the point. Now I've got that image of your head sparking in my mind!!
  11. I paid £5,600. I know I could have got one for a bit less but I believe the one I have is as good as it's possible to get.
  12. I think the gen 3 is a much nicer shape. I got 38mpg on my way back from Bournemouth doing 70-80 so I'm more than happy with that.
  13. To be honest it was being in friends IS250c that made me think about changing, the dash is very similar, and the quality is fantastic. As I've said, I'll always have a soft spot for the LS, but I'm so smitten with the GS (so far) that I can't see me going back to one.
  14. The other advantage over the 06 plates I saw advertised is the tax as it's £300-is as opposed to £520. Daft really as it's the same car as far as I can see.
  15. Thanks for the comments chaps! The dealer also had the wheels professionally refurbed and it has excellent Michelin tyres. Apparently one of the two partners is a member of the LOC, they specialise in Lexus (Trust motor company Bournemouth) They had a couple of lovely IS on the forecourt. Actually, I think they're the best used car dealers I've ever dealt with, all cars beautifully prepped. It's a shame not all dealers are like it! Well worth the 85 mile trip. I'd certainly recommend them to anyone looking for a used Lexus, no hard sell, just very laid back but professional.
  16. That's true enough, although the GS boot is still large. As I generally look like a vagrant I don't tend to use much luggage space when going away, thus giving ample space for my wife's bags!
  17. I've posted some pictures in the GS section. I think it really is a great contender for an LS owner who maybe wants something a tad more modern, or like me, just fancying a change. It certainly doesn't feel like the second pressing of the grape compared to an LS, they're both great cars.
  18. In many ways it feels very similar going from an LS to a GS. It's still a big car. The road noise I would say is similar, many of the toys are the same, I still have a rear blind but not vibrating seats (which I never got to use). The build quality feels better, the doors close with a wonderful sound! Cabin noise is very low, fuel consumption is much better and it's only about half a second slower to 60. The ride is great, roundabouts no longer feel like a boat on water with much less body roll. The interior would compete with anything made today. It's a real pleasure to drive. Saying all that, I love the LS and will always have a soft spot for it! The one I've bought has been impeccably maintained which must help with the overall feel. Seats are still very comfortable. Music system isn't ML but still excellent.
