  1. Maybe someone can answer this. On Rock Auto's website they list the sensors as right and left side. So would that be looking from the front meaning left side would be the drivers side in the UK?
  2. From what I can understand the gen 2 ended in 05 when the gen 3 was launched, so I'm a bit wary. The 06 sensor on Rock Auto is different to the 05 if that makes sense.
  3. I have discovered their over counter prices before I must admit. However, the online price is the same so I can only think someone's made a mistake!
  4. I called in at Eurocarparts yesterday to ask for a price for a post cat sensor and was quoted £325! That can't be right surely.
  5. Thanks for the info, and as it happens that exactly where we were thinking of ( Český Krumlov ) My brother went there last year and loved it. It would only be a brief day trip as it's only about 120 miles from Vienna, and all our other hotels are now booked. I'll certainly be reporting back!
  6. I'm happy to view anything that's reasonably accessible from the Brighton area if that helps.
  7. I'm sure you could find a 400 within budget, it would be every bit as comfortable and capable, perhaps even more reliable with a bit less to go wrong. It would double your chances of finding a car.
  8. It's just the way it goes, next week there could be loads. Sorry it didn't work out with mine, it was very much in demand! I'm doing a road trip myself in a couple of months, France, Germany, Austria and maybe the Czech republic. Had I not sold my LS I would have taken it, but hopefully the GS will serve me well. It's still spacious and very comfortable. Good luck with your search!
  9. That's good info. I've got one I apparently need to replace but just because it throws up a code showing which one, I'm still not convinced as the "check VSC" comes and goes.
  10. That's a very smart looking motor! I love the colour.
  11. Self employed carpenter for the past 35 years, looking at semi retirement but the work keeps coming in!
  12. I've only just sold my LS430 and I can tell you that you really don't need to measure it. The rear space is vast, even for the tallest person, and as the rear seats recline they can have a good nap!
  13. That's scary, although there are many, many pre 06 for sale with very high mileage.
  14. I don't personally know but they'll be others that respond who may be able to help. The thing with alloy is it just doesn't bend. See what others suggest anyway, there are lots of knowledgeable people on this forum.
  15. It just goes to show you can't believe everything you read! Any other issues worth a mention? I'm really enjoying the car, it's amazing how up to date it looks and feels.
  16. This is just my opinion, but I would try to find another wheel. I wouldn't risk it. And welcome to the LOC!
  17. It really varies, some have loads of creaks, some none. Before I bought the one I have I tried a 55 reg GS300 with scabby wheels and some panel damage but no creaks. On the same day I tried an almost immaculate 55 reg GS430 and it sounded like the Mary Rose at sea. This is the rubber I put between the dash and windscreen that made all the difference. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/W002-uPVC-Window-Door-Wedge-Gasket-Double-Glazing-Rubber-Repair-Seal-PVC/232010232733?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=531203808284&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 While I'm at it, I read a review that said the GS uses oil, is this anyone's experience?
  18. It does look nice. I think Cat D's are fine if the info regarding the repair is available. I had a car written off once for minor damage, it fixed up as good as new.
  19. My Suspension is OK, but reading various posts about the cost of replacement and the difficulty finding suppliers other than a main dealer made me wonder. Are these no good? They don't seem particularly expensive to me. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FRONT-RIGHT-OS-SHOCK-ABSORBER-STRUT-DAMPER-For-LEXUS-GS300-GS350-2005-New/252951844520?fits=Car+Make%3ALexus|Cars+Year%3A2006&hash=item3ae51ad6a8:g:II4AAOSw4A5YnacC https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/REAR-GAS-SHOCK-ABSORBER-STRUT-PAIR-For-LEXUS-GS300-GS350-2005-LH-RH/253225624685?fits=Car+Make%3ALexus|Cars+Year%3A2006&hash=item3af56c646d:g:UucAAOSwACZZp9~b
  20. My dash creaked a lot, and I've discovered it's fairly common. I bought some black rubber used in double glazing, just the right size for pushing between the dash and windscreen. It took one minute and the creak has gone!
