  1. I must say I'm finding the GS a fab car. The only thing I need to do now is sort out the apperntly very common dash creak.
  2. To be fair Denis, your response didn't come across as over courteous to someone offering great advice.
  3. We watched it a couple of days ago, excellent documentary.
  4. You can always give him a call to discuss a respray. It's Thatcher Motors near Littlehampton. 01903 782723 and ask for Rob.
  5. Obviously the cost of a respray will never be got back by re-selling, but if you intend to keep it for a long time why not? Why don't you drive down to West Sussex and see a friend of mine who has a car body business, he does a great job!
  6. Yes, I'm just discovering that about CVT. Interesting how most cars advertised say they have it when they don't, including mine.
  7. I couldn't agree more, that explains why they have first class reviews.
  8. Or not! Apparently the 02 sensor isn't covered! Fair dues to the dealer though, they said they would transfer the cost to my account if I send the repair invoice. Can't say fairer than that. The sensor was taken out today, and then the wrong part was sent by Eurocarparts. Lexus want £190 for the part, Eurocarparts £114 for a Denso one.
  9. Did you do the tints yourself? I'm told the back window is a pig to do.
  10. Welcome to the LOC George. You'll be pestered for photos of your new car as we all love photos! I've only just sold my LS430 to another member, they're great cars! As for the music I've no idea, but I'm sure someone else will tell you what you need to know.
  11. I have to say I didn't think my LS430 was too bad on fuel, it is nice though to gain a few extra miles per gallon now.
  12. Interestingly it's located in Worthing where I live but I've never seen it.
  13. Thank you gentlemen. I do seem to remember reading, and I can't remember where, that if you have HID's then it's OK. I will do a bit more checking of course.
  14. As we've now got all our accommodation booked for our Spring roadtrip I was wondering if the GS has any facility for adjusting the headlights for European driving. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  15. It does amuse me sometimes when the post begins with "this looks like a good buy" and after 30 replies it's not half the car it appeared to be. Some advice of course is good, some based on guess work. Glad yours went to a good home, and I fully understand the missing it part!
  16. To be fair to the dealer I bought mine from he said if the car didn't match the description he gave me on the phone he would refund my fuel cost! But generally I agree, our expectation of "immaculate" mostly leads to disappointment.
  17. The whole business of buying a car is so frustrating. I went to see a GS430 a couple of weeks ago after being told it was impeccable, and although it was great looking the first thing I noticed was a tear in the drivers seat which I couldn't live with. The next one, a GS300 had a damaged door which wasn't mentioned. A morning wasted. I then went to Bournemouth (85 miles) to see a GS300 which turned out to be great. It just means being prepared to travel and sometimes be disappointed. Good luck with your search.
  18. Yes it will, or simply use silicone as others have done and you won't even have to take the speakers out, just the door card which is easy.
  19. I see. It looks like the BT symbol! I'll take a photo of it if I'm still not sure.
  20. Here's another thing I don't understand. On the display where it shows signal strength etc, mine says BT, but I'm with o2!
