    I'm chuffed that its gone to someone who really appreciates it, and I got to be a passenger in it for 10 miles for the first time ever which felt good! A pleasure to meet you Martin, and I hope the car gives you as much pleasure as it gave me. Now I'm on the hunt for a replacement, I've got two GS's to see on Saturday morning.

    I don't suppose any of you are in the area and could look at it for me?

    I'm in the market now for a GS and although I'm still not sure about a hybrid I would definitely look at that. Why are they ALWAYS 250 miles away!

    If it's dropping it sounds very much like you have a strut leaking air. You could be lucky and find it's a height sensor but I would think it's the former. You should be able to hear the air escaping. It could of course be a damaged air hose. It really needs to be checked by a specialist.

    Not withstanding the good info from you hybrid fans, I am planning to see the GS300 in Chertsey on Saturday. Two owners, full Lexus history and 63k, and lower tax. I'm still open to whatever else may come along of course.

    I haven't even sat in one yet! I did go for a run in a friend's IS and loved it. I won't rush, and I do think the acceleration with the hybrid could tempt me!

    How do I do that? I've just spoken to the seller of this one and it does sound very good. But then dealers/estate agents!

    Do you think the price is fair? I could be there in 45mins. I've emailed the seller of the hybrid asking if they would accept my offer, it's along way to go if not.

    I've looked at buying a car from Ireland, especially as my wife is Irish so it'll be an excuse for a visit. The problem is distance just to view, and the paperwork plus tax (I think). It doesn't seem to be straightforward, unless it's from NI.

    Just out of interest I've checked the insurance cost, £225 fully comp. Not bad at all!

    Thank you all for the info. I won't rush into anything, apart from a phone call to Newbury in the morning. Just one more question (for now) how reliable are the electric motors on the hybrid? I'm going to really miss my LS, so whatever I replace it with needs to be a worthy substitute.

    The boot space isn't really a problem, I'm just thinking that the non hybrid would be a bit less complicated when something does go wrong. A bit of thinking to do.

    So how reliable is the hybrid system as it gets to this age/mileage? And what are you looking at cost wise when the batteries go kaput?

    That does look very nice but I didn't really want a hybrid.
