  1. Hi Can you put the .stl file on thingiverse? I have a home 3d printer I could try printing this on it
  2. Found this. Thought I share if not been shared before http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8mOlWKVpWs
  3. Hello all Last time I was cleaning my EGR I tried to move the arm/piston thingy but it seemed very hard to move and I couldn't get it to move at all. Is it supposed to be this hard or is it supposed to move freely? I am just worried it may be jammed stuck
  4. try calling Lexus UK direct on 0845 129 5484 and complain to them.
  5. One of my IS220d rear shocks leaked. Bought a used one of ebay for £70 plus £10 fitting from Bradford back street garage. I don't see any point in buying a new one on a 6-7 year old car.
  6. Try calling Lexus UK with your request/complaint. It may be pushed up the queue
  7. Hi mate, just call your local Lexus dealer and they should be able to tell you if there is any warranty on it or not. If its corrosion then I believe it should be covered by 10 year Lexus anti-perforation warranty but again, best just to talk to Lexus about this first.
  8. Got it back today. They used a special Vacuum tool to take out the injector. Cost £300 in all including 4 hours labour charge. No more noise or spray coming from the engine. Was Grove Lane Garage in Leeds
  9. Well, we used to have a Daewoo and its exhaust went at 60K miles. However, have had several Toyotas in the family and all have done much more than 100K miles before the exhaust went. So I am guessing it will not be corrosion but possible damage of some sort. If you are just out of warranty from Lexus, may be they will be willing to help you with this so try calling them first. If not, then when you know which part you are looking for exactly try your local breakers or breakers ebay.
  10. No sure about the price, are you looking for new or second hand. Also, why not get it welded (fixed) rather than replace?
  11. Its from the movie "office space". If you'd seen it you'd find it quite funny. Its frustrated office workers (computer programmers) bashing the s**t out of the office printer they get their hands on after being laid off
  12. The garage just mentioned that. They said its a bit risky as if the injector breaks inside while removal it can be really expensive so did I want to go ahead with it. I said Yes, and now await till tomorrow to find out
  13. I think the dealer is just trying it on http://www2.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201308058163112
  14. Thanks Patrick You are right, its not steam, because of all the black crust everywhere. spoke to local garage today. They said they have fixed a lot of leaking injectors on Toyota diesels, due to copper seals breaking. However the garage guy asked if I could smell diesel in the car through the vents. I am not too sure I did. I suspect it may be engine oil leaking as I had topped it up a few days back and it was just past the low line. Needed a quarter of litre of oil to bring it back to full level. On the other hand I have no idea what I am talking about so he might actually be right on this one. The garage said it should be OK to drive to them. So will take it there tomorrow before work. Not going to Lexus dealer for this, cause I am a bit afraid they will turn it into one of those "we need to change all injectors on the engine" job worth more than half the price of the car itself.
  15. Hi all Today after almost a year I decided to clean the EGR valve as it had been 10K since I last did it and the car was feeling a bit sluggish. When I removed the engine cover, to my surprise it was covered in sort of black tar (but hard to the touch) around one of the injectors and burn marks and similar crust on the underside of the enigne cover as well. When I started the car, with the bonnet up and engine cover off, it was like a steam engine. It was blowing sort of steam, stream from the injector on every turn of engine about every four ticks I presume. So.. I dont know how long its been blown for as I had been feeling the car was becoming a bit sluggish and MPG was going down quite a bit and I thought it was the EGR valve. Problem is that when the engine cover was on and I was usually sat in the car with the windows up and AC on, I would not have heard that steam engine blowing So I am a bit scared now what to do about it. Its on 118000 miles now. The head gasket should be OK as the pink radiator fluid is still pink and no residue inside the engine oil cover. I am trying to post some pics with this thread but don't know if they will come out properly. Any comments? suggestions what to do next?
  16. I have tried tune-in over bluetooth using Belkin kit. http://www.belkin.com/uk/p/P-F4U037 Quality is OK but at high volumes there is a bit of hiss co-related to the revs in the engine. Possibly electrical pick-up by the audio between the BT unit to aux-in to main head unit. For longer journey you have to put your phone on charge as well. Because, radio over 3G requires quite a bit power For those with Samsung S3 I can recommend stuff like http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3200MAH-Power-Bank-Backup-Battery-Charger-Case-Cover-for-Samsung-Galaxy-S3-I9300-/130948908259
  17. Yes same here. Never seen a Lexus broken down ever. That's why I got worried a bit :)
