  1. Hi Julian, i assume you have not had any problems with the alarm on your car, mine keeps going of, but only in the early hours of the morning, Lexus have replaced the interior sensor but this has not solved the problem. i have a security camera protecting my driveway, and although it has caught the odd animal walking around this has not coincided with the alarm going off.
  2. I don't go anywhere near car parks, i have a runaround for that.
  3. Thanks Ben, The Blue is supposed to be a amazing colour, my RC-F was blue so i wanted to have a different colour and fell in love with the Red on the LC How long have you got to wait for it,? Have a look here Ben, you find something you like http://dvlaregistrations.direct.gov.uk/search/prefix-number-plates.html?numbers=50&letter1=O&letter2=L&letter3=C&action=results&pricefrom=0&priceto=&prefixmatches=141&searched=true&openoption=yes&language=en&prefix2_x=40&prefix2_y=28&super=lc50olc&super_pricefrom=0&super_priceto=&origp=L&orign=50&origl=OLC&research=1&prefix=&fpsearch=1
  4. you can install in onto a out side light if you already have one or i just wired it up with a length of cable and a 3 pin plug on the end. its a bit fiddly to install so expect some swear words.
  5. I have one of thees https://www.netatmo.com/product/security/presence perhaps a bit pricy ( £230 / £250 ) but there is no point having a camera that doesn't give you a good image, they one is 1920 X 1080, not sure if thats good or not, certainly gives a good clear image, its also infer red, and a security light, although i do find that the image is clearer when the securely light does not come on, so you have to decide do you have a good clear image but no deterrent of a security light coming on or the light coming on to hopefully deter the person to leave. you can watch live feed any were you have wi-fi or 3g..4g can tell the difference between , people, cars and animals, and if it gets it wrong you can teach it, works every time in daylight but sometimes gets it wrong at night. you can program it to send you a text, and or record for a detection of a car, person or animal. program everything from you phone including the floodlight brightness, turning it on and off, the alert zone and a lot more. and it has sound, although they can't hear you
  6. So far the car has not let me down expectation wise, i did have a minor alarm issue, but hopefully that has been resolved. The LC steering seems a lot more precise, this is mainly due to the rear wheel steer, the car acts and drives a lot like my old GS450h. Its a lot easer to get in and out of the LC, the seats although bolstered are not as high as the RC, plus the sill hight is a lot lower, the only slight issue is that the doors a longer so you need a bit of space next to you to get the doors wide open, so things may be slightly more difficult to get in and out if your parked in a tight space. The LC is very smooth compared to the RC, the gear changing seems more precise although i have found a couple of times it has got confused on which gear to use, mainly when your traveling slowly, 10/15 mph then go to accelerate. i have only done one short 70mph trip, but the car was very quiet at this speed. The seats thenselves are very comfortable and supportive , and with the aIcantara inserts your not going to burn your bum in the hot weather, I have only used the heated seats once so far and they are 100% better that the RC which i found to be nearly non excitant The infotainment system does take a bit of getting use to, although you can say this about any a new gadget you buy, but its no way near as complicated as a lot of reviews make out, the problem with the reviewers is that they probably only have the car for a few hours or a day, not enough time to really get to use it, no, there isn't switches for the heated/ventilated seats and you do have to go into the system to switch them on and of, but it does have a concierge function which when activated and set up, will automatically adjust the heat of the seats and steering wheel depending on the outside temperature and the inside temperature you have set, you don't even need to have the heating system on for this to work, it will also adjust the cooling of the seats in the same way. The RC-F was a great car and i don't regret having one, but the LC is a lot more comfortable to drive, smoother and when set in comfort mode a lot more comfortable ride, but then if you want to you can put it in sports mode and your back in a RC-F, although even in this setting i don't think it is as firm a ride as the RC was. So over all i am a very happy Bunny. for anyone who may be interested hear is a link to the LC'S detailing http://www.theultimatefinish.co.uk/car-care-blog/new-car-protection/lexus-lc-500-v8/?utm_source=UF+Newsletter+Subscribers&utm_campaign=662dca843a-Oct+Three+2017+-+Dodo+Juice+Menthol+Giveaway&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_1b3f443310-662dca843a-60208701
  7. i don't think the boot space is adequate for a family holiday, as mentioned a couple of medium size suit cases can fit, the boot is shallow, but then you can't really comfortably fit 4 people, so two cases would be enough. As for the difference between the hybrid and V8, i think it all comes down to preference, you will need to drive then both to make up you own mind. The millage i do, the m.p.g is not much of a issue for me, but the way i drive and the journeys i do practically I should have got the hybrid, buy O boy that V8 sounds good.
  8. kerning is a real issue, Lexus don't offer tyre and wheel insurance on the LC. Although initially they weren't going to offer wheel insurance on the RC-F, until the smart repair people worked out how they were going to repair them, as the dealership said there is always a way but in the early days it might not look to pretty.
  9. LC has arrived home, thank you to Ultimate Finish at Brand hatch for bringing the paintwork up to a morrow finish, a great job as usual.
  10. I had the V8 demonstrator for a few days I averaged 19mpg around the same as my RC-F, but i only do short trips, I did manage to get 31mpg out of the RC-F on a 120mile round trip to Cambridge driving at a steady 70ish using cruse control.
  11. Hi Martin, the car arrived at the dealership on Monday 25th September, the day I went on holiday for 2 weeks, the car is at the detailing shop now and should be ready for pick up on Tuesday
  12. or you could just join the AA or RAC, i got a puncher and within 25 mins they had done a temporary repair ( max speed 50mph and no more than 100 miles ). ok yes if your side wall is ripped or you have a massive hole then this is not the answer. but how often is this or even a puncher going to happen, i must just be lucky this was the first puncher i have had for 8 years.
  13. No not yet, it will be ready for collection on Saturday 22rd but as I am going away that day I am leaving it until I get home and picking it up on the 7th October
  14. i don't think the UK or even Europe will get the LC-F, if you want one it will probably be a special order, which is why the £160k, My LC is in Wales at the moment, just come of the road and probably annoying all the sheep
  15. I have had Kamikaze Collection ENREI a state of the art 2-stage sealant put on my last two cars, its a bit expensive, around £800 for the LC, this includes the wheels, glass, and paint correction, but it makes the car so easy to clean, and will last 3/5 years if you treat the paintwork correctly.
  16. I agree, perhaps in the future they may add more interior options, i have seen the Black and tan in person but not the red interior. i thought Red with red interior would not have gone together very well, the tan was just too much tan for my liking so the only option left was the Black, which is a little drab although with all the different materials the black is broken up into slightly different shades, and from what i can remember some of the areas are a very bark blue, like a black blue if that makes any sense. what i can't understand is that the black is ALL black ( with the odd section in dark blue ), the tan is ALL tan ( with the odd section in a darker tan ), but the red is completely different, its not ALLl red, its just the seats , door inserts, and the odd panel. if they had done the Tan in the same way i may have been tempted with that.
  17. My car is now showing as " Shipped" so as long as there are no US navel ships in its way it should arrive on time
  18. Still the 9th of September as far as i no, I am expecting another update tomorrow, i have been told that the yellow ones have not got a delivery date yet, maybe having problems with the colour like the blue ones.
  19. unfortunately if everyone listened to Lexus reviews made by Top gear we wouldn't buy any model.
  20. I was told the other day that Lexus are going to stop production of the GS and it will be replaced in the UK by the ES.
  21. WOW, thats going some, only 4 sets of tyres, the article doesn't mention any other problems he has had over the past 3 years. https://www.clublexus.com/how-tos/slideshows/forum-member-raidin-racks-up-300k-miles-on-ct200h-in-3-years-511882#5-tires-tires-tires
