  1. 5 badges, L front and rear, Lexus, GS and 430. Just noticed that the Lexus is cracked in the middle of the x. You can have them for £12
  2. no question the IS250 is quieter over the IS200 however there is noticeable road noise. Much more so than a GS or even RX.
  3. budget £100 to get a full geometry check/adjustment done. Timing belt interval in the book is 100k but should be done at 60k. Double check to see if it has been done, if not then get £500 knocked off the price.
  4. surprising about the gearbox. Surely the series III cannot be worse than the series II for creaks and rattles?
  5. There is a fan in the Pace V2 boxes. I upgraded the HDD on my one and connected the 12v fan to a permanent 5v to make it run silently. 3 year+ and never had an issue with it. The hard drives also spin down a few minutes after it is put into standby and Sky introduced an auto standby feature in a recent software upgrade to reduce power consumption.
  6. I thought the IS300 timing belt should be changed at 100k miles or 10 years (same as 2000+ GS300). Maybe is it 6 years. The IS300 is not like the IS200 where the belt wears prematurely.
  7. all depends where you are in the country. I know there have been congestion issues around Manchester with Be/O2 recently but I normally get 80%+ of my max speed during the evening.
  8. I have a gold badge set if you are interested. The rear model badge is GS & 430 rather than a 300 but you could just use the GS part.
  9. I would try cleaning the throttle body and idle control valve.
  10. It does work but if the metal was stretched when dented in will never go back to original. Not sure what it does to the paint though :o
  11. I believe this would be difficult. The engine ECU also controls the transmission so you would need a new ECU. The problem with a new ECU is it would expect an electronic throttle which the series I doesn't have. A 3.0l Camry transaxle isn't 4WD but possible could be made to work it would have to be the same 4 speed design the same as the series I RX.
  12. 5 - 6 to 7 years is probably correct for time between all new models, normally with a facelift in between.
  13. The engine isn't the same as in the GS450h. The new engine has an Atkinson cycle design. The power inventor is also a new design which may explain why it has a higher speed ability on electric power only. I believe it still only uses Ni-MH batteries, Lithium Ion batteries are believed too dangerous by Toyota (certainly if they use Sony ones which seem to set fire to many a notebook computer!)
  14. Castrol Edge or Mobil 1 are the two fully synthetic oils I would recommend. I've used both and cannot notice any difference between the two.
  15. It's not too difficult. The main problem is the throttle body goes across the engine and therefore has to be removed. COMP.PDF REMO.PDF
  16. Most Lexus dealers seem to use an engine flush. They are fine if used at every oil change. Problems arise if an engine has gone through many oil changes (with not particular good oil) and then you flush it as it loosens deposits that aren't all flushed out and oil ways get blocked. Or deposits that are blocking up any worn seals get flushed away and oil leaks start.
  17. why not just go with O2? I believe their packages are cheaper and it's the same company. I'm with O2, their customer service is excellent.
  18. A distance of 0.4 miles should be able to support 20Mbps but other factors also come into play. Contact BE, they should be able to do a line test to get a semi accurate figure.
  19. if you are getting a download speed of 1200KB/s that is the same as 9.6Mbps. If you have a 10Mbps Internet connect then that is basically running at almost 100% utilisation which is excellent. (There is a slight transmission overhead so you will never get 100%)
  20. The 450 may well equal the X6. The new engine should be more efficient than the old one. Just have to wait until more information is available.
  21. that makes sense, there are probably some hidden screws or clips.
  22. 10" rear wheels were an option. Most sports will have the standard 8" ones all round.
  23. I tried in the past but gave up from fear of breaking it. I completely removed the armrest from the seat but still couldn't see how the cup holder is fixed in. The procedure also doesn't appear to be in the workshop manual.
  24. The poor speed is probably the rapidshare servers. They are anything but rapid! However when you say 1.2mbs do you mean 1.2MB per second? That is around 10Mbps.
