  1. sounds like you need a recharge. First though inspect the pollen filter behind the glovebox (details in owners manual) for dirt.
  2. 1 - no 2 - see link given above 3 - no real need, you may see a difference in mpg whilst the ECU relearns and maybe a difference in gear shifts as the transmission relearns your driving style.
  3. most aren't hidden, they are documented in the owners manual.
  4. Looked at one yesterday. Much better looking in real life compared to pictures I've seen but I still prefer the previous model.
  5. You can get the trim pieces from Lexus (400h parts) but would be quite expensive.
  6. Main dealers don't give good trade ins, especially on a vehicle they won't sell themselves. I was just offered £2k for my 2001 RX300 SE with 105k miles but was offered close to £3k from an independent. Will be selling privately instead.
  7. the following is good stuff: http://www.liquidleather.com/
  8. It has coil packs instead of a distributor and rotor arm. 8 coils, one on each of the plugs. I would have thought the LS400 MKIV also has this?
  9. not new technology but proven. There are many examples of Toyota/Lexus vehicles doing hundreds of thousands of miles with original water pumps and radiators. The main thing is the make sure you change your coolant regularly, whatever brand you use, and don't use tap water if you are not purchasing pre-mixed coolant.
  10. The genuine Toyota coolants are low in silicates which helps protect seals and stop corrosion. If you are confident that another brand provides this then it is fine to use them.
  11. you may want to completely wipe your PC and reinstall the operating system. If you are changing your password and people are still getting in I can only assume your machine is redirecting you to a fake ebay login or you have a key stroke logger installed etc.
  12. removing the disc shouldn't blank out the other functions. I have a feeling that disconnecting the nav unit may stop all the other functions working, although I may be wrong. Maybe your nav unit completely died when you reinserted the disc?
  13. Not sure when the timing belt interval was changed but it is retrospective, all IS200 should have timing belts changed at 60,000 miles. At the very least it should be inspected at 60,000 miles and every 10,000 miles afterwards. Does your timing belt stamp indicate it was performed by a Lexus dealer? If so ring them up and see if they have a record of the work having been carried out. Lexus Edinburgh are very good but I understand your desire to find a less expensive alternative.
  14. RED is the standard. Needs to be changed every 2 years after the first change at 3 years. Pink is the new standard which lasts 10 years. Not sure about green, I think it is only used on UK built vehicles
  15. very difficult to get a good match even with the genuine Lexus sprays. Silver is particularly tricky.
  16. should last well over 12 month, probably 2 years+
  17. No you cannot tell, it will suddenly start to give VSC warnings on the dash and beeping. It may be intermittent for a while and then will be permanent. Not really any tests you can do. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/knowledge...p;id=16&c=3
  18. Please....give me a little credit I ordered the plastic cap from Lexus Derby and they said the touchup only comes in chip pen form not spray can. Not doubting you, just I don't know how many times I've been told by a Toyota/Lexus dealer that something isn't available only to find out it is by another dealer.
  19. you can clean the MAF, check the knowledgebase for instructions. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/knowledge...p;id=50&c=9 What error codes are being produced?
  20. The Mercedes I've seen don't have full postcode. First 4 or 5 digits only. Maybe that have upgraded the very latest COMAND?
  21. I too would be surprised if they can get it out. It always seems to happen to me that a dent is always over a double skinned area
  22. I cannot find that code either. Are you sure it is correct? I would clear the code and see if it comes back. Is there anything wrong with the vehicle that you know about?
  23. the fluid shouldn't get dirty. I'm concerned that Toyota T-IV fluid wasn't used. I would recommend getting the fluid replaced. Did you check the fluid level when the transmission was up to temperature and the engine running?
  24. sounds like your battery is weak if moving the seat pulls the voltage down enough to affect idle. Is your air con switched on? That will increase the idle rpm, may enough to stop the shaking until you can get the vehicle looked at by your dealer.
