  1. if your style of driving means you don't match Lexus published mpg figures then there is no reason to assume you will this time with the RX450h. I would expect you to see an improvement over the 400h though.
  2. The gear selector movement you describe is normal so there is no solenoid problem. The plugs and engine oil etc. are not related. Have you checked the transmission fluid level? The only other thing I can suggest is to replace the transmission fluid however it may be too late for that. I would recommend you look on the forums in the US (clublexus.com) as this is a common issue over there and hopefully you can find some better advise.
  3. Your brake pads may be worn. The sound could be from the wear indicator which is meant to make the noise you describe.
  4. I've not heard of any issues. The only concern would be the battery pack, will that start to lose it's charge efficiency which will affect economy.
  5. The rear door sensors not working is a common problem. The sensor itself seems to be at fault and that is located within the door lock.
  6. by who? A specific dealer who uses Mobil oil? Toyota/Lexus don't recommend any brand, they just provide the specs the oil must meet.
  7. US didn't have the RX240, only RX300. The issue I believe is mainly on the 4WD and not the 2WD.
  8. I know of one member who had a transmission failure in Europe. It is possibly to do with heat, the European RX has a better transmission cooler which may explain things. All of the RXs I have seen (series I) have had poor fluid quality, not a nice bright red colour but a deep red/brown colour. I would recommend a drain/refill (not a full flush) every 20k miles. I've also installed a filter on mine.
  9. I've always liked Redline oils. Not sure which grade is best for the IS200 gearbox. No need to stick with Toyota oils for the manual gearbox, but it is the case for the auto transmissions.
  10. the engine isn't destroyed with a cambelt failure on a 1996 LS400. It isn't necessary to have the idlers replaced however the main cost of fitting a new cambelt is the labour, if the idlers only lasts another 10k miles that would be another £400+.
  11. once you have a good battery try turning on the ignition for 6 minutes, remove the key and then try to start.
  12. Almost always the three button key is a master and the two button one a sub key. You cannot program a new key using a sub key, you would have to replace the engine ECU and obtain a new key - cost around £800-£1000. You should have two master keys and one sub. That is what is supplied with the vehicle new. If you insert a sub key the security light will come on for a second or two - that is the easiest way to tell if a key is a master or not.
  13. I would recommend Linksys or DLink. Belkin don't make their own products so there is inconsistency depending on who is the EOM. Some of their products are good, other not so good.
  14. The procedure for the euro spec GS300 uses the ODBII information on throttle angle to make adjustments. The Aristo doesn't support ODBII does it?
  15. completely different engine to the Prius but the wheelbase is the same so probably the same chassis. Here is the press release for the HS 250: http://www.lexus.com/fcv/HSHybrid/HSHybrid...ressReleasePage
  16. If there is still a problem it is worth checking all the fuses in all three fuse boxes.
  17. duplicate posting to two different forums. Please do not do this people. Merged postings and moved to correct forum.
  18. You really shouldn't jump start another vehicle without the engine running, also turn all electrical devices on before removing the jump leads to avoid spiking the electrical system and causing a fault. What age is your GS? If a series II is the security light going out when you insert the key into the ignition?
