  1. My dealer recommended that I got this done elsewhere as they would be very expensive due to their high labour rates
  2. If it is an e-shift then what happens when you have it set in 2nd at 20mph and then floor it? Response should be instant. I would imagine the delay you noticed is the auto box changing down a couple of gears.
  3. £55 labour per hour is good. That's what Toyota Guildford charge, Lexus Guildford however are around £80.
  4. If it will cost that much then buy a 2 service pre-paid plan. For a used IS200 it will cost £460. If your going to pay £380 for one service it means you are only paying £80 for the other one. http://www.lexus.co.uk/owning.php?page=prepaid
  5. They have been seen on prototype vehicles for years. Don't know why they are not in production yet? Improved economy, less wind noise etc. I guess car manufactures make too much money from their mirror spare parts!!
  6. Get a one year old IS300 for the cost of a new IS200. Get the wheels, auto, engine, leather, HIDs etc etc.
  7. Most dealerships should service it for you and they would carry standard service parts as they would be standard items. Some spare parts may take longer to get hold of as they are not used on UK vehicles but the dealer should be able to order them for you.
  8. Are you sure only the whole mirror is available? I have had this a few times where dealers have said only the whole part is available and when I looked on the parts cd there were individual items available and I have gone back to the dealer with the part number and ordered it. Unfortunatly I don't have a Lexus parts CD only an old Toyota one so I cannot look. Does anybody have access to a Lexus parts CD?
  9. No, I saw my MR2T the day the dealer got it and it was undersealed. All the other Toyota imports I have looked at have had underseal which looked the age of the vehicle and not having just been applied.
  10. Are you sure about the Lexus models? All the MR2 and Supras I looked at had underseal which was not applied in the UK. Looked at an FTO once for a friend and it was just paint underneath. Seems Toyota underseal their cars and other manufactures don't.
  11. The saloon may have a bigger boot but it's not all usable. The boot hinges take up so much room (which is the same in the GS). I also think the 343l is with the boot liner in place so if you retract that you will have alot more space without having to fold the seats.
  12. I've received an email from Lexus who have confirmed that the washers are removed when the styling kit is fitted. They are currently checking with their legal department about the legal requirement and should get back to me shortly.
  13. The 17" are easily scuffed, use Bridgestone tyres with the rim protector lip on them. If you get the wheels refurbished then whoever does them should give them a decent covering of clear-coat so you won't have corrosion problems again.
  14. My wife had her one changed 6 months ago and she got the same type back. Seems there is a bit more of a shortage of these units now, we only had to wait a few days back then. I don't think the latest ones use the same connectors so there would be more work involved. The one you get should be modified to fix the problem so there shouldn't be anymore ERR3.
  15. Lexus UK even give a price on the web site for the IS300 + styling kit so it seems it's not just the dealers who might not be aware of this regulation. I have contacted Lexus via their web site to get an answer but I don't expect an reply if the question goes to their customer service centre.
  16. So how do Lexus get away with selling the IS300 with styling kit?
  17. Now the Supra TT 6-speed is something you can really tune. 450bhp without too much cost or 1000+ if you are really rich. I found my MR2T more fun on the road than my Supra. The Supra was just too fast, you run out of road too quickly! Good on the track although a Skyline will beat it and is easier to drive due to it's electronics helping you out.
  18. If we want to be precise about this it is actually 241.6484 bhp as the only spec Toyota used for the J spec MR2 is 245PS not bhp. Also remember this figure is based on 100RON fuel. The Celica GT-Four was the only car to use the 3S-GTE engine in the UK and that produced 239bhp on 95RON in 1994.
  19. You seem a little young to be driving! What type of alloys do you want? If you want the standard SE/Sport 17" then I'm sure there are people on this forum who are selling some.
  20. http://www.eur.lighting.philips.com/automo...ucts_xenon.html
  21. A week or two ago there was a discussion about HID headlamps and if washers are required for the SVA test. I have just been looking on the Philips web site and have come across the following: “To comply with European legal requirements Xenon light can only be fitted to your car in combination with an “automatic leveling device” and a headlamp windshield clearning system” As the IS200/300 styling kit removes the headlamp washers does this make your IS300 illegal?
  22. I had a Supra for 3 years and my GS for 2 years now and they both always took/take 4-6 turns to fire up when cold. Seems to be common on these engines. They never failed to start though. When I had a faulty battery it just cranked slower - still took 4-6 turns but a second or two longer. A lot of people on IS300.net have seen improvements when they fitted a grounding kit.
