  1. Hello and a warm LOC welcome. We are a very friendly bunch and a solution to problems that are often only a few hours away. We don't mind dirty pictures but yours are beyond what could be considered as decent. My car has done 130K miles and if you look under the rocker box covers apart from a film of oil everything is pristine and looking lovely and clean. I have always had synthetic oils as had the owner before me but yours looks as though its been running on Marmite. I cant help with what has happened to your car but I don't think its normal. Good luck with sorting it quickly. Mike
  2. Brilliant idea. Would never have thought of that one what a great tip. Mike
  3. Hello Karmaz. Welcome to this friendly LOC. Sorry you seem, to be having problems with coolant. I have a MK 4 LS400 which was LPG converted nearly 3 years ago now but have had all my cars converted over the course of 16 years and at no time was coolant leaking a problem. The coolant in an LPG system is used as follows http://www.go-lpg.co.uk/Do_I.html As for water pumps that leak if they do then they are knackered. You say the water loss has got worse since the LPG conversion then I would first check and tighten all unions that were disturbed when the conversion took place. My cars are checked from one service to another all without having to top them up. Good luck and heres to a quick solving of your problem. Mike
  4. Before you jump you might like to read the currant thread entitled "Im Really Beginning To Hate My Ls430" Mike "
  5. I had to run up to Peterborough recently 125 miles from us in my wifes 54 Ford Escort, the noise, the uncomfortable seats, crap radio poor ventilation, I could go on but when I got back I have never been so pleased to get back home I immediately got into Lexie who needed gassing and what a difference it was like going from a 3rd world banger to Lexie. I love my Lexus. Mike
  6. They never cease to amaze me. Good luck with the latest sale hopefully someone on here will see for the bargain it is. By the way is the leather spotless and in pristine condition? Mike
  7. What is it with these idiots that go for a buy it now £250 and then start messing you around, I do hope you left him with a nice Negative in Feedback. Mike
  8. Just watched the episode up to the end of the test that's all I could take abbs- I won't be watching FG again. VBH doing her wide mouth frog impression is not entertaining - the show is not as entertaining as TG (and is a bit of a copy cat). Tiff's test was a bit naff and not very scientific. Why test winter tyres against normal tyres? I believe Tiff mixed winter and summer tyres on the car - not a great idea if legal. What were the conditions (temp) during the test? All he proved was that winter tyres stop better in the wet than summer tyres. The Germans and others are compelled to put winter tyres on so Continental are going to come up with a summer tyre that saves fuel (or so they say) and sell it. My wife puts winter tyres (all round) on her Avensis Estate and their performance is really evident - so put winter tyres on in the winter. Bren I agree with there not being too much difference between TG & 5G but I really have a problem watching my licence money being given to TG just so JC can show us what a **** he and his mates are. Both programs show enormous amounts of tyre burning and as I have said before you see one car do it you've seen them all. Most of the items shown on TG on location around the world are produced on the most expensive format you can employ which is film and not video which doesn't need anywhere near the number of people to produce the same. The BBC never has to worry about revenue as if we don't pay up into prison you go. (Sheriff of Nottingham I think) I hate TG with a passion but I love cars even more which is why I record it and the watch with the sound down and fast forward through the rest of the rubbish. It doesn't take long to watch it that way. The strange thing is that JC always puts down the Hot Hatch Yob type drivers but then exhibits the very same thing in the way he conducts himself. I'm off to have a lie down and a cup of team Might even dream of VBH. Mike
  9. Heres another 1998 LS400 Brochure for £2.99 + £2 P&P http://www.ebay.co.u...=item43b82ba641
  10. Absolutely. The people that work there have a combined IQ of less then an amoeba, and that's being kind, as for customer service, i think Saddam Hussain would be better. Love it. Mike
  11. "No one else has complained" "never been asked before" "no call for it today" don't it just make you sick instead of saying, "let me check this out for you sir" "I will contact head office and see if they have an answer" "I have some more in the stores so let me go and check" Of course they don't have to do any of it but it would make you feel so much better and keep you thinking clearer rather than annoyed at being treated as though you have just got out of a space ship. Good luck hope you sort it. Mike
  12. My local tyre dealer told me if you use tyre weld they will not be able to repair a puncture aterwards. I always put the spare in the boot and I carry tyre weld - if you only carry tyre weld what would you do if you damaged a wheel and had to change it but did not have a spare? I bent a wheel on a 400 once and had to change the wheel - well the AA did :) The last statistics I read were 95K miles between puntures for the average motorist. So if you are feeling average tyre weld should be a good bet. I run on LPG all the time and only keep 1/4 of a tank of petrol for starting and getting out of trouble - it makes no sense to carry around 44Kg of fuel about that I don't intend to use. Bren The trouble with statistics is that to get a figure of 95K some got a puncture with 1 mile on the clock and some got one considerably more than 95K then of course to get the average you need to know how many punctures were counted once you know that the only conclusion you can come to is that you can get a puncture at any time. Mike
  13. Your welcome. I completely understand your stance where the installer should not be left of the hook. You are in a real dilemma, I hope you manage to sort it soon so you can enjoy your motoring 100%. Sorry about diverting the thread. Mike
  14. I cant help with your problem but welcome back. You may have noticed that there are no Lexaholic type groups around and that is as you know is impossible to cure once the Lexus bug has bitten you. Good luck with solving the problem. Mike
  15. How far are you from Peterborough as I have a friend Salvatori, who is very trustworthy and very knowledgable (hes Italian well Sardinian) but it may well be worth paying him a visit. Let me know and I will send you details. Mike
