  1. Hi Keith. I reckon you got more chance of getting a letter from *** than finding a sport grille. As for the decals, I ordered a set from Lexus Chester nearly a month ago and still no sign or a courtesy call to let me know whats happened.
  2. I had exactly the same problem. Mine was caused by one of the front calipers sticking. Take your car for a drive and then whilst the discs are still hot [and obviously when you have stopped] jack up the front of the car and see how easily yours wheels turn. I had my wheels balanced on and off the car all to no avail and then by accident noticed the caliper. Good luck. :D
  3. I had the same problem with my boot lid because of the spoiler. I changed the damper set up with those from a gen sport model and it cured it.........................for about a month and then gradually went back to slamming. Im used to it now so it can stay that way.
  4. Its not too bad from the dealer. I got one for the MK1 GS for £32 and then managed to cross ref to a sharp item which peeved me a bit. Check out dedicated ICE suppliers and they will probably get you a cheap alternative
  5. I know its not quite the first of april but have you checked the news to see if roger whittaker has been kidnapped by a group of Japanese car enthusiasts? Ok, so its not funny but my car whistles as well. Mine is from the drivers window because there is a tiny piece of the window rubber missing. Must be worth having a nosey. :D
  6. Thanx for your time and effort mudz. Its a pity the dealer didn't show as much concern. Now let me run this by you. My radio comes on without any sec display coming on. I assume this means I can take my battery off and re connect without any problems?
  7. That sounds bottom squirtingly fast. Does it come with fitted toilet roll holders fitted to the door handles.
  8. I need to disconnect my Battery but I need to know if the radio will need re coding or will it be OK. Im getting diferent stories about this. Some say it will be OK and only needs re setting if its removed from the car. If it does need the code putting in, how can I find it. I have no history with the car and the last enquiry to a dealer resulted in a sorry mate. cant help you. Is the code chassis number related, IE last four numbers? Can anyone point me in the right direction........please........pretty please etc etc... :(
  9. For me, gotta be the MK1. They got it right first time. Looks so agressive from the rear in sport spec especially with the 10x18 option. The lower they are, the better they look. To add to the sleek lines, you get an option of a pair of windy millers without badges all over the car letting everyone know. A great looking car from every angle :D
  10. You should find that any reputable garage will change your belt. The hardest thing about doing it is undoing the crankshaft pulley. If that undoes easily then the change is straight forward and a lot easier than a Mondeo. :D
  11. I tried several places to have mine done but once I mentioned 18" wheels, they all sucked in a lot of air and pointed me in the direction of an imaginary dealer. I just happened to mention it in work one day to the logistics manager who surprisingly said, "I'll do it for you no problem" and guess what? He did. Turns out he was an area manager for Quick Rip throughout the North West and something that he aquired in his time in the game was a 4 wheel laser alignment thingy me bob. I took the car to work, made him a cup of tea and listened to his tales of rubber from over the years as he handed me the autodata book to find out my correct toe in settings. Turned out my nearside front wheel was toeing in 4 mill which surprised me as it was the off side that was injured in its accident. He showed me the way the set up worked and got me to do the track rod unscrewing and the adjusting and then showed me the results on the laser display. Sorted. It cost me a cup of tea, a few beers and a replacement battery for one the lasers cos it was on its last legs. :D
  12. Im scared to look under my dash now steve in case anything else is missing. :o Its easy to remove the arch liner. All the srews are self tappers. It gives you a chance to remove any mud thats got itself trapped under there as well.
  13. Steve. My alarm horn is fitted on the nearside inner wing but my car is a 94 model. On the one that I got my parts from, the alarm siren was located inside the drivers side front wheel arch, pretty much under the air filter assembly. You have to take the wheel arch liner off to gain access. This was a 97 model and one of the last MK1s. Good luck. :P
  14. Hi Tempo. If you are fitting an OEM spoiler, you should find it quite easy to find out where to drill because inside the boot lid has a recess for were the screws fit.
  15. You probably have it sorted by now but im curious to know if it was your master cylinder or your servo that was at fault?
  16. I have the opposite problem to you on my GS. from cold it idles far to high until it warms up and then drops to normal
  17. Was it the testing station where the bloke looks under the car with a guide dog. If the dog barks, its failed? :P When I got my car it had an MOT. *** only knows how. I took it for a new one beginning of Feb after sorting out the bits that were hanging off and got a pass.
  18. Keith. The Supra manual came with my Supra but I know that Halfords can order the US manuals because they list them in the Haynes list in there stores. They got me one for a 300ZX a few years ago. It was the same price as a uk spec book. The only difference being that it wasn't in Hardback.
  19. Octane boost. Yeh why not :D Oil Additives. Rather just buy a top quality oil with them already in
  20. I have found Auto glym to be very good. You can get both a cleaner and a conditioner. It leaves a great smell :)
  21. At the other end of the price range and depending if you are prepared to take a gamble, you could always buy one without any history. My car was £3200 last July. It had been in an accident and deemed beyond economic repair. It had been straightened very well but the panel fit (one front wing and bonnet)and respray were awful. Its all sorted now apart from the paint which you can only notice in bright sunlight. It turns out to have had 3 previous owners, an unmarked interior and it drives absolutely superb and in a straight line. Oh, and everthing works on it unlike my previous Jag which fell to pieces and rusted right before my eyes despite only being 5 years old at the time of buying. :)
  22. Hi Jac. Any chance you could scan those sheets and mail us a copy? Keith. A supra manual is pretty handy for most mechanical and electrical problems. Haynes do an American manual. :D
