  1. I think the sound system is very very good for a factory fitment. Are you sure your centre shelf speaker is working? As for the fuel debate, I agree with Rodders although can someone tell me why my engine management light flashes whenever I use optimax? I hope you enjoy Lexus ownership and I bet you will find your niggles to be nothing more than something daft.
  2. :P was it thoroughly defrosted before cooking commenced? :D doh...........................sorry. :(
  3. sounds great mate. I will be in touch. I 've got a lot on at the mo trying to finish off a TR for the other half in time for summer. Do you have any pictures of the conversion? I know it sounds a bit anorak-ish but if so can ya mail them to me. I'll PM my E mail Address. :D
  4. Dont suppose anyone can tell me what the name of my colour is. Its dark Mettalic green and a first gen GS 300. The VIN plate has fell off mine. Mind you, im lucky thats all thats fell off judging by the Bodgit and scarper type repairs it had when I bought it. Not complaining though. I knew about its past and its 99.9 % sorted now. :P
  5. 1.remove your back seat base. 2. remove the rear backrest of the seat. 3. carefully remove the the 3 plastic plugs from just below the edge of the rear shelf. 4. very carefully lift up the front edge of the shelf slowly so as to pop off the retaining clips and then remove it. If you have the high level brake light, dissconnect the wiring. You then should see the mounting screws for the speaker. :D . Thats the theory of course but as you know its bound to go pear shaped.
  6. Hi everyone. I've just fitted a brake light to my back shelf from a 96 sport model. No problem with the cutting and mounting and all the other jiggery pokery but what i want to know is, is the wiring already there with an unused connector hidden away somewhere and if so , can someone give me a clue? Its no problem if it isnt because i've already temp wired it in but the proper conns would be a nice option. :D
  7. I likes that I does. just forwarded it to my MD. I can just see the results now. www.lexusownersclub@etchasketck.com :D
  8. I had a yellow stag once with a cream coloured interior. It looked like a banana and every time I stopped at traffic lights, someone shoved some Trill through the window and shouted,"who's a pretty boy"
  9. My favourite way of relaxing is spending a nice relaxing evening at my knitting and crochet clubs that I run on a thursday and friday evening. In case you are interested, Ethel and Cyril have just became honourary members and have decided to get married. On Sundays I go hiking across muddy fields to write down serial numbers of Electricity pylons and admire there natural beauty. Check out http://users.tinyonline.co.uk/bigh/bigh/pylonof.htm for more information. On saturdays we get together and discuss the future of the rare three stripe Octagonal base Traffic cone. Just don't have any time for Golf at all. Did I mention Eddie Stobart spotting?
  10. wakaday@hotmail.com Feel free to spam me. everyone else does but be careful I dont set pinky punky onto you. :P :P :P :P
  11. Got it sussed as you can probably see. Thanks everyone :D
  12. Is that in the auto trader? May go take a look if you haven't bought it. Damn good excuse to get rid of wifeys Escort. :)
  13. My GS is a 94 model and is totally rot free. Wheels are from mk 2 and they are spotless. The only problem being slight kerb scuffing. :)
  14. Trust me. [even though im a scouser B) ] The Lexus is a sensible car compared to our Stag and TR7 collection. The Stag runs LPG albeit on a small tank and a heavily modified Rover engine. The TR is just a toy and should have been scrapped but I felt sorry for it and the missus has a soft spot for it. Im just curious to know how the Lexus electronic controls would react to gas. I have no doubt in the mechanical capabillities :)
  15. My seats work when your not sitting on them, well the passenger side one does anyway. I've never left my keys in the car when im not sitting in it so I dont know about the drivers sideI :P
  16. Has anyone done one, driven one, comments, Price, availabilty, Cheese and onion crisps etc....
  17. QUOTE (Claire G @ Jan 10 2003, 08:53 PM) Just run this past my hubby, he reckons there are places advertising in the back of the Auto Trader that will produce VIN plates.... which ones that Claire.. Joe's chop shop? I can relate to that. It reminds me of the place I bought the car from. Cut and shuts everywhere and my GS parked in the corner winking at me seductively. It was love at first sight. :)
  18. It isn't a secret message from the producers of the 60s and 80s cult TV show, "The saint" is it ? Maybe ROGERs returning once MOORE but this time in a lexus instead of his volvo or XJS....... The truth is out there
  19. Just buy one. You dont so much as drive them, you sort of wear them like a big comfortable pair of designer shoes. I came from a 300ZX and a supra and have not at all been disappointed. No slouch either. :P
  20. I never ever leave my car unlocked even when I go to pay for petrol. Just recently in the cold snap, there have been at least 6 cases of cars stolen due to people warming them up unattended. Thats here in Liverpool but im sure someone will have a witty comment about that. lol. :P :P :P
  21. Thanks but it didnt work. It just tells me the type of file cant be used as an avatar. I have pictures already in the gallery but it wont let me edit them.
  22. The main chassis number is still there and hasn't been tampered with at all. If that had any signs of messing with I would have given the car a berth larger than the QE2 takes to turn around. This may have been off for a while and i've only just noticed. I checked the numbers on it against the stamped ones when I bought it so I know it was definitely there. I spoke to someone who said that salvage dealers remove them so no one can steal the identify of the car while its awaiting its clearance. If thats what happened then they didn't refit it very well ;)
  23. Can someone let me know how to put a picture of my car up on the left of my topics please? thanx in advance :)
