  1. Cheers loz. I do but I only get to drive it when wifey returns it out of fuel as usual. :P
  2. It can be a real pain sussing out aircon problems. I have been told that the wrong gas can turn pin holes into black holes. A good place to check for pressure leaks is the condenser. My Supras condenser fell apart after a re gas and that was caused by me being to eager to see if I could get it any cooler.
  3. TVRs. In a word [or 2] Automotive pornography. The best sounding car on the road. Why dont Jag V8s or even LSs sound like eights should.
  4. Unlucky Claire. It shakes you up but it could have been a lot worse. Hope your claim is ok and your repair is perfect first time. Loz. Im upset. I am a white astra van man. Surely im not that bad :P Surely havin the lexter, a couple of Triumphs and a bike makes me a bit more sensible.
  5. so thats what happened to my younger brother
  6. Jaybo. Is your compressor kicking in when the light comes on? I think they may have an inbuilt thermal link which melts if the gas gets to low in the compressor. Im not to well up on Modern air con but my older cars have this as a safety feature.
  7. The 99.9% finished article. Its great fun to drive despite being an asthmatic 2litre. No one knows what it is and lots of people laugh but its better than walkin and the top is down more than its up. Sadly, the lexter has to move on. We have been seduced by another 300ZX TT. But thats another story for another forum.
  8. I emailed Haynes direct about manuals and they told me they had no immediate plans to release any Lexus material. Check E Bay. Quite often you come across a cd version.
  9. He is 46. Did he have permission to remove his pipe and slippers despite the heat? My local Newspaper ran this story with a picture of him smiling next to his car. As they say, all press is good press. Reminds me off the day Louise left Eternal. Not many people remember coz it was the same time a mr Williams was relieved of his duties in a boy band. Off topic or what :D
  10. ste I had 2 cars at woodvale. Wifey took the lexter and I took the TR. She was supossed to follow me in case of breakdown as it was its first run out.. The 120 MPH was done by her, not me. I poodled along at about 80 ish while she hammered the nuts of the TR along side. A great weekend out and the TR was faultless..... apart from having a MG badges on its wheels.
  11. I have been told something along those lines glyn. I believe something as small as a locking wheel nut can also throw out the balance. My balancing headaches turned out to be caused by nothing more than a sticky brake piston. It took a long time to find it but when I did, my wheels didn't wobble any more right up to 120 MPH on the runway at an airshow last weekend.
  12. Well, mine is now in its tenth year and dosen't rattle and everthing still works like when it left the factory despite its little altercation a few years ago. Surely the MK2 has to be better.................or does it. :o
  13. I believe the welds on Stainless Exhausts are carried out in Mild Steel. The amount of Rust depends on the amount of stainless present in the system. Some systems are better than others. Both our Triumphs have Stainless systems but the Stag one is a much higher Quality the the Tr which is surface rusting after only a few months.
  14. Mine isn't as colsd as it was 12 months ago. Am I right in believing that if the gas gets low, then the AC lcontrol light will flash as a warning?
  15. That optimax definitely has something diferent in it. My TR loves it and dosent misfire at all with it but my management light still flashes on the Lexter. :duh:
  16. I have always found Halfords to very expensive compared to other dedicated Motor Factors. However they do stock Ferodo Brake pads and have a great range of quality tools which you don't seem to find in smaller stores. As for service, I can't comment. :winky:
  17. If you read this before your birthdays over, you need to stay out later next year. hope you had a good one.
  18. Go for it mudz. You never know, someone may well look and offer 12. you would still be quids in :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P
  19. If it dont say SEC your safe. A bit like safe SEC....s :yahoo: :yahoo:
  20. I was lucky enough to have a guided tour around the TVR factory about 8 years ago. The guy who showed us around loved working there so much, he came in at weekends to show people around [so I was led to believe] This guy was a wealth of knowledge talking about, amongst other things composites. I don't seem to remember him talking about SEACs but thats probably because I was oggling over there own new version of the V8 at the time and trying to see if I could shove one up my coat. :winky:
  21. been down the MG road. Not got on to a TVR yet. Probably the best sounding car about :P
  22. I personally believe that people who ride bikes tend to be more aware of them when driving their cars. I've never had a serious bike accident but that may down to my Fireblade being nicked before I had a damn good chance to tan its *****. One thing that does annoy me about this case is why put him in Jail. Arn't they overcrowded enough
  23. I wonder what colour it is on the registration document?
  24. I agree. Im not a fan of the 7 but my missus likes them. It was a bit of a diversion for me because i've dealt in stags for the last 13 years. [hence the randy reindeer name]. The 7 is cheap and [sometimes]cheerful, is easy to mod, [V8 sitting in the garage winking at me] and the parts supply is readily available. I did think of getting her an MX5 but I would get bored waiting for it to break down and I think an SC and an S2000 Honda are still a fair bit to pricey.
  25. Not driven an IS or a 350Z but i have owned a 300ZX. Scary car in the wet and I would imagine the 350Z is great fun wether or not it wins the TLGP. :)
