  1. turned out to be a loose connection on number 4 coil pack connecter. changed the sparkies last week myself and must have not clipped it in tight. signs of old age! still done couple hundred miles like that - relief & she purring again B)
  2. sure will do, I guess its the season for the 300's, must be hating the heat wave going on - wanting the cold air feed all the timeeee''
  3. I have the same prob as you mr.leki. would like to know what your turn out will be - its also worth checking the connecters through a voltmeter to see if its giving out between 9-14volts.
  4. thanks colin, will check for that and move the coil around and do another test to see if it comes up with diff code or bank.
  5. my car has seem to be not starting sometimes and whilst driving stalling on me then the engine light came on with vsc and trc. I have had the diagnostic check done and it has come with up the P1300 code which is the ignite module or something. bank 1, no.1 is this the the 1st coil pack from the front of the engine which I need to check for ?
  6. right, I have gone back to the car and it started up fine but with the vsc, trc and engine lights on. idling sweet and smooth. I tried starting in the morning and it fired up for 5 seconds then switched off. it does this randomly. scared to drive it as it might stall on me on the busy roads! over the weekend I done 720miles cross country trips and it never missed a beat and pulls solid through the rpm's. fans were kicking in as they should. as soon as I come local to my area at speed of 20mph the car stalled. now it sometimes fires up when it wishes too. will get a diagnostic done and take it from there but can it still be tested if the car wont fire up ?
  7. radiator fan ? what connection would that have ?
  8. today at the traffic lights the car just stalled. switched off by itself. started her back up and continued driving. after 4 miles the car stalled again. now the vsa, trc and engine light are on. this happened 40miles after i put fuel in from a station i never used before. could this be crappy fuel ? will i need a diagnostic test i guess -
  9. any one noticed lately in the hot weather there car sluggish on pick up ? and I can hear very slight pinging noise when on throttle at low pick up speeds. using shell v-power nitro which has helped a bit.
  10. been driving around all day today and has not made the thud noise once! I feel its happening more often than before though. its more noticeable in manual mode especially if downshifting & yes normally its around the 2nd or 3rd gear change. will just change the fluids all round & take it from there -
  11. got a bit of a rough gear change sometimes. get a thud from the rear when it happens. does it in auto and notice it more in manual mode. the gearbox oil looks clean (redish) and up to the hot level. no leaks from anywhere and diff looks dry. should I change my box & diff fluid, will it help or cure the problem '
  12. IS200 auto i got a creak kind of noise from the left rear coil spring when driving round town. happened after jacking the rear end up. the spring is not broken or rusty. its seated in correctly aswell. I sprayed sum wd40 it went away for few hours. its been 4 days with the creak, will it disappear may be with out the hot dry weather thanks -
  13. ok, so how would I know if I got the correct or wrong cd . I will post up a pic of the cd I currently have. the cd is not scratched or anything though. could be the wrong one or as colin mentioned, sat nav unit packed up.
  14. I have cleaned the cd and the module lens with a cd lens cleaner cd. made no difference. I think there is a wrong sat nav cd or may be needs updating or something. I brought the car a week ago & the only thing wrong with it, is the sat nav which I was told.
  15. sat nav comes with error message - unable to read. I can access the calendar and maintenance settings but the sat nav not operating. any ideas ?
  16. mine use to light up before. its got a bulb in the switch which I replaced, still did not work. so then changed the whole switch with bulb from dealers. its not a big problem but annoying when all the dash lights work and light up apart from one - think will browse through the fuses, its all I can do I guess .
  17. the headlight aim switch to level the lights up or down does not light up. I thought its the bulb. I have changed the whole switch from dealers with the bulb and same problem. is there a separate fuse for this ?
  18. changing the springs is easy on the IS200's but it would be for me as I was a mechanic, now retired. apart from checking the condition on the shocks, other parts shouldn't be much in the way. if there is anything wearing/worn the mechanic most likely will pick it up. once lowered get the geometry done -
  19. i prefer the IK20's, marginally better. better acceleration by less effort, mpg and smoother throttle response. not a big difference though. less life approx. 40-60k whereas the SK20's approx. 100-120k tried & tested!
  20. auto front fogs with doors unlocked would be nice but I wouldn't mess about with it. its possible by wiring them up with the central locking motor unit, which powers on until doors open up then powers off so the fogs will come on and switch off. but a lot can go wrong in the process as lexus have many electronics - you need a top auto electrician to guide you on this
  21. have you got the same tyre size at the front wheels ? and 8.5j wheels on the back and 8j at the front you can opt for like the IS300's with 18 aero wheels. with 35mm and 18''s I don't think you should have any probs but someone else should be able to clarify better on this.
  22. Iridium all the time. denso sk20 or IK20. its simple -
  23. hey, at least you tried and had attempt. some people are lazy to even take the wheel off and inspect' one step at a time I guess good luck in the future pal, all the best -
  24. I never have see dust settled on mine after the polish. if I don't polish then I see a fair amount of dust settling on paintwork. don't know why because my brothers black IS200 always has a lot of dust on it & he uses the same polish as me from the same bottle! black cars look slick but keeping them clean is a nightmare -
  25. thanks - will try that remedy when I get some time and get back here with the updates -
