  1. yes tints are illegal. not every one follows the law. the windows have factory shade of tint as standard. if your going to still tint, go with the light shade will looks much better.
  2. hi Mathew and welcome to the forum. your mpg is about right. .70 litre tank. assume its a manuaI? the only sure best way for any mpg gain is a few psi more in tyre pressures and control your throttle response. service will help with correct clean oil eg 5/30. after all you will get about 2 -4 mpg max.
  3. sorry wasn't clear but no guys, I already own it. I have put it up for sale and don't know why lol I don't use it much though. currently own 3 is200 models and one is300. black is a nightmare to keep clean but once its clean its a beauty!
  4. what a superb car this is! owners who own one know what im talking about. but biting my nails on this one and letting it go, advert on auto trader, hope I have made the right decision - -
  5. running 32 psi cold all around on lowered car. when I go up to the recommended of 35 psi the ride is very harsh, although I get a bit better mpg and throttle response. any of you guys with standard suspension find it harsh ride at 35 psi ? could be my suspension setup is on the stiff side too, so do lowered cars need to run less tyre pressure ? ? any thoughts ?
  6. not much worth the effort & money on upgrading the power from IS200. you wont gain much either way. supercharge or turbo can be done but its not cheap & after all that an IS300 will come & mess about with you! to me a lexus has never been a fast performance car, they not suppose to be. the 200 is utter slow for the mpg it gives. now the 300 ? a TOTAL different ball game. BEAST of an animal! still shocked what the car can do & make some high end performance cars look silly. . its all about the IS300 if power from a lexus is what you need, in my opinion & for what they worth -
  7. nice! I have the lexus audio grom lead in mine but without sat nav so no probs there. very expensive part but well worth it as the output quality is superb. luxury and elegance!
  8. Is that Ironbridge power station in your pic? sure is Pete! its where I am working at the moment as security
  9. hmmm - - your car left hand drive , import or something ? if you want to know its a limited slip diff then, jack up rear end of car and rotate the wheel. the opposite wheel should turn in the same direction. (lsd) if the opposite wheel turns in opposite direction then you don't have a limited slip diff. (open diff) not sure what the M59 code is though. does it have a letter S stamped anywhere on the diff or sticker ?
  10. that's spot on mileage you getting there Ian. if you want more then you got to drive like Richard from keeping up appearances & if you don't care about mileage then duke of hazards style on the menu'
  11. the switch themselves don't light up when pressed ON, only show on the dash. with side or head lights on the switches light up like the heated seats etc. hope not created confusion -
  12. you sure its M59 you read on original sticker ? is it not M85 - which would be limited slip differential.
  13. well what it is, I think your car is slightly pressurising. when the fans off and car warm check the pipe you mentioned, it should be flexible a bit and not stiff. dont burn yourself, use a cloth then check pipe. its a guess but its what im assuming, do that then get back -
  14. hey carlb, that happened to mine too, I got another one from local scrappy. it happened again so this time I put some cable ties to secure it. next time its coming off! I would leave the under engine guard on tho-
  15. two things on top of my mind - check fuel injector as mentioned & the current readout from the coil pack connecter. should be between 9-14 volts. if one of them weak the follow that route to problem. I came across one with ecu fault misfiring. very rare case but took weeks finding the prob.
  16. its hard to tell these days, there are plenty of sport replicas about. sport only comes in manual with lsd along with rear medium tinted windows and sport logo on the rear quarters. 15mm lowered as standard like the is300, which also has all the sport refinements such as lsd and much much more. the diff you got on there is a lsd. the best real original way to know is check the V5 logbook! should say lexus is200 sport.
  17. had a few of these cars and must say there superb all around. mpg is fair to be honest for what it is and what you get but the performance is turtles! unlike the 300 which is a total different story. I have achieved 550 miles out the auto at best and 280 miles at worst, average is 350-400 miles. best mod to gain fuel eco is you the driver yourself!
  18. sayyy,, , that's a beautiful lexus - so you changed the bush that holds the geometry in place, did u get it re- aligned? your rear tyres seem to be wearing on the inside a little tho which could have been advised but testers choice I guess glad it all sorted, enjoy - -
  19. well I guess will give it a miss then. its just that the previous 200 I had it had the sat nav which looks cool but as some say the smartphones are much better in use. if anything will go for the custom sony sat nav which a member from here makes them ready to install' thanking you all for your views -
  20. car is a non-sat nav model. I have the full original sat nav system from another IS200 which comes with screen/casing, remote ,cd rom unit, remote/casing and wiring loom. is it possible to put this in the non-sat nav model IS200. where would the wiring loom run through & will my standard cd head unit work with it. anything else would I need - adios' amigos'
  21. great stuff both ends! thanks for comments Mr.Leki & Colin Barber - Mr.Rudus - signing out' PeAcE >
