  1. Not an expert, and this is entirely anecdotal, but it seems plausible that it was fixed or made more reliable when the engine got detuned for the 200d version. So, 2010-ish. Most problems reported on the forum are invariably for a 220d. Although there are far more of those around...
  2. No button for the hill-start. The manual just lists it along with the various other systems (ABS, VSC, TRC etc) that "operate automatically". In fact there's very little explained about it. Just a disclaimer that it probably won't be effective on really steep inclines, or icy conditions. I've never experienced this buzzer or flashing light coming into play in normal road conditions.
  3. These cars have hill-start assist, don't they? I've never experienced rollback after releasing the brake pedal.
  4. Was thinking about doing mine too. You planning to DIY? Sounds easy enough providing the fill & drain plugs can be cracked loose... 🤔
  5. Frustratingly, just over a litre (about 1.2), so 2 bottles need to be purchased.
  6. Definitely bookmark Amayama. Even for mundane stuff, it can often work out way cheaper than UK/EU, even with the additional cost of express shipping and import taxes on top. For example, I got a pair of new wiper arms for my IS. Even with EMS shipping and an import charge, it was still cheaper than buying one from the UK.
  7. 2019 car will have the much bigger 4-piston calipers and 355mm discs though. Was it front of rear that was changed? Regardless, it's possible and normal for the inside portion of the disc, closest to the hub, not to be used by the pads. Maybe an inch or so, but they should definitely contact the remainder of the surface apart from a few mm at the very outside edge.
  8. With the OP being quoted "over 10,000GBP" for the part alone, this is a whole new level of dealership scalpery! Even if shipping and taxes adds another £1K, that's a ridiculous mark-up. The part would no doubt have to be specially ordered from Japan anyway, so it's not like the Lexus dealer would get one any quicker. Anyway, yes can recommend Amayama. Always great service when I've used them. 👍
  9. On cars with 18" wheels the space saver is still the same. I believe there's just one wheel that's fitted to all cars - a 17x4 steelie. However, there is a variance in tyre size depending on OEM wheel fitment. 125/70R17 is specced on cars with 16 or 17" wheels. Meanwhile a car that had 18" wheels from the factory has a wider tyre on the spare - 145/70R17. Unless you don't have a spare at all, I wouldn't bother pursuing the "correct" one.
  10. There must be a company out there somewhere with experience of repairing or rebuilding these rear-wheel steering systems? Perhaps a Porsche specialist since a few of their cars have featured 4WS over the years. Or, maybe just a regular steering rack specialist?
  11. I use the Gtechniq one. Had it for years and it still looks like new. Gtechniq WM2 Microfibre Wash Mitt Double-sided so there's fewer trips to the bucket. Also has a strap for gripping inside which makes it almost impossible to drop.
  12. I don't think I've heard this rattle myself, and I've never used this product, but I've seen it being mentioned by US owners as a potential cure.
  13. The F-Sport filter has a kind-of rubberised frame which seems to seal really tightly so I don't think any dust makes it through. Like I said, the top half of the airbox was spotless. Anyway, I'm now rocking an OEM paper filter as I washed the reusable one after taking the pictures (cleaned out the airbox too). I will give the F-Sport one a week to fully dry out before refitting it.
  14. Sorry to quote you again, but my interest was piqued enough about this to have a look in my airbox this afternoon! Not too bad. Mostly fine sand-like dust with a few larger pieces of debris. Similar story with the air filter. Interestingly, the upper half of the airbox was completely spotless and looked brand-new, so the filter clearly does it's job very well. It's worth noting that this could be as much as 4 year's worth of build-up as I personally hadn't opened the airbox since 2018.
  15. Was about £250 all-in from eBay store toyotafactoryoemparts I think you'll struggle to get one for that price nowadays though. 🤔
